      Awesome video, she’s great at explaining. The idea of needing 2 days at a stealership for software updates after owning a Model 3 performance for 3 years is nuts. And paying 2x more for a EV with 50% less range, worse software (the maps were unbelievably slow and looked like a 15 year old Ford infotainment) , and it’s slower than the Tesla that’s 1/2 the cost. Crazy. Pretty car tho.

    Very thorough and realistic review. This is my dream car (for a daily driver). I could probably just about afford a RWD version with a few options. But it’s so easy to go into the configurator and think “I’m already spending this much so I might as well get what I want”. With that mindset I quickly get myself to a 120k cross turismo. Current wait time is over a year which is probably a good thing for my wallet.

      @muribe85 Рік тому +2

      The configurator hits hard. I bought the 4S, starting in Norway at aroung 90K USD. End price was 145K, as the configurator was kind enough to help me pick the right options for me (right?). I'm selling the car now as my family just went +1 and the car is now too small. I think I will lose a lot of money as I went for "all" the options. We'll see. : )

    Excellent review and really appreciate a woman’s opinion. We drove this model and my wife told the salesman it was a “slug” compared to my 2022 model S. He said we need to buy the dual motor version. When configuring Taycan, there are over 100 options which must make it very difficult to build and inventory.

      So far from the truth. Lucid and porsche have way better luxury interior and presence on the road. Teslas are a dime a dozen these days with the depreciation model s plaid was 140k last year now its 85k lmao what a joke. And the interior is so blah bunch of plastic areas and a single iPad. So boring to look at. Porsche has a taycan turbo gt said to have more then 1000hp coming out soon. It was spotted being tested at nurumbring. It'll prolly be the faster then lucid def tesla.

    Such a great review. I am looking at a very similar spec atm, but all reviews are from petrolheads, Tesla fanboys, or tech geeks (who, for the most part, are Tesla fanboys). Loved the honest and straightforward review from a perspective similar to mine - a car lover who wants the best vehicle for me and my budget. Thanks!

    Great honest review! Thanks! I love Porsche, but I think I'd wait a few years for them to iron out all the EV idiosyncrasies. I'm sticking with Tesla for the foreseeable future. I've owned a few German cars, and I love V.olkswagen A.udi G.roup I.n N.orth A.merica, but I won't be driving one anytime soon.

    Great review. Totally don't understand the poor UI in the Taycan. Love the chassie setup and the ride in general. Fab quality overall. Just feels a bit too big too though

    My wife and I have the 2022 model S. She test drove the Taycan turbo and immediately hated it. It is shockingly cramped in the cabin. Functionality is abysmal without paying an additional 30K for all the functions the Model S comes with. Reverse cam video feed was way too small. And I think there wasnt even a blind spot feed. I personally LOVE the way the wagon version looks, but cant swallow the inferior tech.

      Are u serious the taycan interior is miles better. Tesla gives u a bunch of plastic parts and iPad then calls it a day. Exterior wise this looks miles better and actually has a unique porsche appearance on the road. Teslas are a dime a dozen these days with its depreciation

      @@G82Watts I never said the interior quality was worse on the Porsche. Read with precision.

    Very nice review with great, thoughtful, comments and advice. Love that you named your car Blackjack. ;-) love things like homelink appears and remembers speed bumps, driveway dips, and adjusts car height automatically. Don’t think you mentioned it but also automatically preconditions battery on road trip for next charge. Thanks for this video.

    The Lucid has the best UI I think right now. Hope more manufacturers take infotainment software more seriously. It's a shame. Hyundai's 360 3D camera is way better too. Shocking to see this on a $100K vehicle vs a $45K Ionic 5. And no 1 pedal driving?? 😭 After watching this, it's unfortunately no longer my dream car. What a shame.

    1. What’s the crash test safety rating and how many stars does it get ?
    2. How many positive attributes does the car have Vs the negative attributes.
    3. You say speed isn’t important but then you say the Taycan is slow 0-60 compared to other EV’s so what do you mean ?

    great video! I don't need Tesla speed because I live in a city but I'd love to have a small hp bump one day for the RWD. They didn't want the RWD model to eat into the 4S sales so they electronically limited the launch speed. Why not offer a paid software boost to make an "S". model? Other than that I'm completely happy with the car, 8 months of satisfaction.

      Great idea. They could make a "T" model like they've done with the base 991.2 and current Macan.
