Dude, I stumbled upon your very first video by accident the other day and even from that, it's clear that you've put a lot of effort into this career path. Your hard work has paid off and I sincerely congratulate you.
I'm so glad I've been able to watch MKBHD go from filming in his college room to filming in front of his Porsche. He deserves what he has and put in good work to get it.
I guess you think that makes you special or something? Should talk about driving past his old high school in Jersey back in the day on my regular commute as well, because you know that clearly connects me to him.

Haha, have been looking at a second hand taycan turbo s cross turismo, found a lovely one for £95k, then realised if i want certain things like ventilated seats, 4 zone climate and so on, it's £150k 😂
The fact that you’re making that your new benchmark is hilarious because for the past four decades, it has always been the benchmark in the car community that all other cars are judged by😂😂😂 I love that you’re becoming a car guy. Dude, this is amazing. I’m so here for it.😁🙌
Congrats, Marques! The 992 Turbo S is sensational. I work for Porsche, and out of all the cars I have driven, the Turbo S is my favorite for the reasons you mentioned. Great buy! A few things to note, wireless phone chargers are an option and, sadly, are not standard equipment, but they are available when speccing the car. Also, the My Porsche companion app does allow you to pre-climatize the cabin along with the ability to lock/ unlock, viewing TPMS, the trip computer, as you mentioned, and setting speed or valet alarms. The Porsche dealership should have set it up and showed it to you upon delivery. Also, for those that want to order a Porsche and are thinking about the dashcam, I highly recommend that you opt for the dashcam pre-wiring, which saves a lot of time and money. It can be done when you configure your car. The Porsche-branded dashcams are mounted just above the windshield and rear window panels. The Porsche dashcam app allows one to save videos and view a live camera feed, which you may find similar to what Tesla offers. Again, congratulations! Enjoy the car, and we look forward to seeing future videos on it!
@isaac10231 it's incredibly rewarding. You have the opportunity to represent a highly-respected brand and share it with others. Getting to drive some of the best cars ever built along with meeting many wonderful people is pure bliss. It's not always easy, as many people hold you to a high standard due to the brand you are representing. But if you measure up, you'll be reap the benefits. Also, the employee leasing deals are jaw-droppingly good. Porsche takes care of their employees, and they want their employees to drive Porsches. Many of my colleagues do. If you can find a position at the dealership or corporate level, I highly recommend pursuing it.
Hey @zeldafan4567 just an observation, but if MKBHD wasn't able to find a few features on the App, then that app is might be poorly designed? If a tech youtuber isn't able to find the options, then it might also apply to the general public. Might be worth a thought?
@ApuroopS not necessarily. The app is quite intuitive and a great deal of resources have gone into making it easy to use and operate. Previous versions were rather cumbersome, admittedly. I have used the app extensively, and the button to initiate the pre-climitization is on the app's main screen, which is the screen that the app opens to. It's quite easy to use and figure out. Some dealers don't include that as part of the new vehicle orientation. I, personally have had to set up and show customers how to use the app who did not buy their Porsche from my dealership. You'd be surprised as to how many simply gloss over the app.
Normally Im not jealous of this channel and the things he reviews but today is the day. Kinda forgot he has #1 tech reviewer money. Btw the glossy stripe 100% does make the car 10x cooler.

This is a great choice. Everybody on the youtubes is now buying a GT3 or GT3 RS but this Turbo S is more versatile and less punishing as a daily sports driver. Dare I say sensible choice.
the fact that you achieved all this by yourself from literally nothing is incredible marques. You should be proud of it and don't overthink it, enjoy life while you can because you deserve it!

I've watched a ton of reviews on the turbo S before I bought mine, and this is the best review. Your description that the turbo S is a 9 our of 10 in every category is the best way to describe it. Excellent review.
Strange to see someone coming from a world where have a phone key for a car is the norm. Took me a second to understand what Marques was talking about.
I think it’s just because it’s luxury you kinda feel like it should- like how tesla (just first example on top of my head) you can start and heat car without being anywhere near it, cars that cost triple or more should have these features. If i’m paying 150k+ for a car it kinda seems silly to not have things that a 30k car has- even like wireless charging.
That is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. You did a fantastic job of picking paint, detailing, and you're right: that double stripe down the center of the hood looks incredible.
Having watched Marques since his early days, I beamed through this entire video. Still so proud of his accomplishments but watching his car awakening culminating in this Porsche will keep me beaming for days. Some of us are just drivers. That’s it.
I drove a 2018 Porsche Cayman through Turo. As a pretty basic base model car, it was, by far, the best driving experience I've ever had. The car knew what I wanted to do before I did. And, I think, that is the point of a Porsche. It is a drivers car, ready to do whatever you want at any second.
Incredible Color!! Never have seen anything Close to this............and the fact that you picked it up specked like it is from a Showroom in Boston!!!! borders on a Major miracle
I remember to see 16 year old kid in a tech channel mkbhd, showing some off the self point and shoot camera and stuff like that, now he is showing the brand new porche with custom collor. That is just amazing.
Agreed that PCCBs are typically yellow Though at 6:55 those look like PCCBs and I believe PCCBs are standard on the 992 turbo S So I think he just has PCCBs with red calipers 😂
Congrats on getting your dream car! Seems like you took a lot of time weighing options and researching. Excited to see more content around the Porsche, and definitely will be watching the auction closely.
I love that Marques is now a Porsche guy. Great pick. I’ve watched many 911 reviews and I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say it’s a 9/10 at everything and that’s what makes it great. Love that analogy. Great looking and driving car. The dream😍

The 911 is an iconic sports car, mostly built for the track. You bought the daily driver version with the max tech and comfort that Porsche does. Now I want one even more 😊

You've put more miles on that car in that short space of time than some gentlemen have put on their Porsches they've owned for a decade plus. I love it.
Naah Turbo S owners drive the shit out of them. You can find a lot of +80k miles used for sale. They don’t hold value like a GT car and their mainly used as daily drivers. The ones who stay in the garage is the GT3’s GT2’s and variants because they appreciate a lot in value so people keep them pristine. Plus they’re not very friendly to daily drive it. It’s a rough ride.
I always feel like it's such a shame when cars are left sitting in a garage somewhere because they're too "expensive" to drive around in. A lot of people spend a lot of time making cars like these and it's somewhat of a disservice to their efforts in my opinion.
That's a hell of a car. Had a chance to drive it for a few minutes and I can't agree more that it's the best car in the world. The steering feel is unforgettable. The rear steering is so accurate and unobtrusive. Acceleration is both violent and confidence inspiring. I'd chose more subtle spec but this one is great too. I'm glad Marques got this 911, hoping for a full review.
Congrats. You've earned this. This video reminds me of when Dough DeMuro got his Carerra GT. And the 911 is, IMO, the overall "best" sports car you can buy. As you said, it's not the best at anything, but overall still "the best." The build quality can not be beat.
Man, I got to drive a 992 Turbo S on track a few weeks ago and its the most intense thing Ive ever experienced behind the wheel. Great car, and congratulations!
That car is beyond beautiful. If I ever have the money, I'm going to buy one of these. You're right about the contrast between the satin and glossy black; it looks incredible.
YEEEEES YOU SAID IT CORRECTLY! YOU SAID PORSCHE CORRECTLY!!! Aaaah maaaan as a german it's so refreshing to hear Porsche pronounced correctly! I absolutly hate when people think it's pronounced "porsch". Great to hear you say it right!
As an American it drives me crazy to hear people butcher the man’s name. Dr. Porsche 😎❤️ Owned. 76 Guards Red 911 Targa w/ cookie cutter rims. Wish I still had it. 🥲
Porsche has done such an incredible job to maintain its racing heritage, design, R&D, engineering, drive train technology, etc. better than almost any other brand. Ferrari is up there also! But I agree. This is a great sports car...I'm envious for sure! Best wishes! Mixing hybrid technology as it advances to this type of vehicle would be incredible. HP / Torque and better MPG's. Win / Win
I agree. Porsche is for me also the only German car maker, who was able to bring that unique feeling of their legacy cars over to the Porsche Taycan. Okay maybe also BMW, but they build their EVs on ther ICE-platform.
So gratifying to see a guy who just turned 30 that's able to buy and enjoy a car like this. I always love the common-sense perspective and humility that Marques brings to his reviews, and this is no exception. As far as the car, I NEVER like blacked-out cars or black wheels (I LOVE colors besides black, gray, silver, and white), but I've got to agree that this spec is pretty sick. The shiny stripe down the middle and the glass roof really set it apart in my opinion, and make it awesome. Excited to see an in-depth review of this car from MB sometime in the next year or so, and to see what the Plaid goes for (and smooth move selling it on Cars & Bids!)
He's a multimillionaire who can land interviews with Obama and Musk; he can buy a whole garage of super cars and still have enough money left for a mansion in the Beverly Hills
That gloss stripes on the matte body are just killing it!! Never seen it like this but loved it instantly! Considering it too for my Ioniq 6 wrap in some other way
This might be one, if not my favorite 911 color scheme/spec. Looks so sweet, especially the gloss stripe on the hood🤤. Also love the gloss/satin contrast. Congrats!
Your gloss hood stripes really do make the rest of the satin work well. They provide exactly the right amount of contrast to keep it from becoming some amorphous boring thing. A lot of satin or matte finishes just ruin the apparent shape of the car.
Marques: Gets a tesla solar roof on his house so he can live off the grid and charge his electric car with it Also Marques: Sells his Tesla and buys a gas car
The tesla solar is to live off grid and power the house mostly, charging his cars would be the last thing he is concerned about when getting a grid for ur house. Both are different and has nothing to do with buying a gas car.
This is exactly how I feel about my new MX-5 I just picked up last month! Obviously it's no turbo 911 but the tech is unimpressive, nowhere to put your phone, have to have a key fob, app does nothing, no dashcam, but its just feels SO GOOD to drive. How connected I am with the car and the road is unlike anything I've ever felt before. Could not be more in love with my sports car and glad you are too
@@chm2unfortunately a Porsche doesn’t feel that fast when you go. In my experience 125 mph feels like normally 65 mph and 160 mph feels like 125 mph in any other car

I was never a car enthusiast. I loved driving through the chaotic streets of the south of France or the hills and rocky roads of the Greek islands. But other than that, I only drive to work and to buy things. On the other hand, I like racing games on PC. I don't know how, but I stumbled upon the Porsche 911 last week on UA-cam. Wow! I'm going to work hard and hope I get lucky and buy one of those at some point too. Currently 23 years old, working a normal-paying job... no clue how I should get there. But I will lol
Wow, what a nice first sports car for a guy who just turned 30. I too bought my first Porsche, a 911S, pumpkin orange with black vinyl interior, no AC. Congrats! I hope, unlike so many owners, that you will actually drive the car instead of keeping it garaged and pristine. Porsches are meant to be driven not treated like investments, they aren't rare, not a Lambo or Ferrari.
The Turbo S is such a beautiful beast. Among the best (if not the best) daily drivable sports cars, so… fantastic choice. It’s a bit of a benchmark when it comes to speed since it’s just *so* good. But, relatively speaking, it’s still so tame and refined. Personally I’m super into the more raw/visceral sports car experience (like what I have now), but if I could, I’d have still that _and_ something refined like the Turbo S.
@@Frankienoname0 It doesn’t compare to a Turbo S in performance, comfort nor refinement per se. But it has a locked down drivetrain (just more direct) via dogbone mount and insert, subframe mount/inserts, stiffer sway bar, lowering springs, wider wheels and etc. It’s already pretty tight but all that makes it even more direct and offers a more rough ride, but that’s what I enjoy. Smaller car that’s a bit more nimble (again, not a Turbo S though)
You seem so legitimately happy and excited about this purchase. Like how we felt getting a playstation for Christmas as kids.. good for you! God bless and drive safe.
it's stabilization either applied by the camera/phone itself or applied in something like After Effects in post. sort of looks like 'warp stabilizer' from after effects. i've always hated it
He uses a different phone during each video as a way to test that phones camera. When he releases the review on his main he usually refers back to these videos
My guess is its not an iPhone/pixel, this phone struggled with focusing and when the scene goes from bright to dark it takes a couple seconds to brighten
As a long time fan, it's super dope to see you buy a Porsche and nerd out about the specs. 🤣 Very proud of your amazing growth and dedication-- as well as treating yourself to such a great toy. ✌
I'm fascinated by the gloss and matte black combination with the red brake callipers in this car, which looks amazing! Marques, you really have a great taste.
This is GREAT! I am a car enthusiast - always have been, and there is no better all-around sports car out there than the 911, especially the trims that offer a manual. I enjoy getting in a Tesla and punching the throttle, for sure, but it is missing 75% of the experience. People who don't know cars won't understand, because all they care about is tech and SPEEEED. Speed is great, but noise, vibration, feedback, rigidity, balance, and lightness together are much more important. You don't get any of that in a Tesla. So glad you are getting into this stuff MQB, keep on keepin' on!
Congratulations on the 992, it looks sweet! I appreciate your take on the lack of high-end tech in the Porsche. A lot of sports car drivers complain about tech integration in their "driver focused" cars. They are purists. I understand this opinion, especially when car manufacturers are replacing tactile experiences with big, ugly screens. I wish for a dialogue between traditionalist drivers, tech-minded individuals, and car manufacturers so consumers could get the best of all worlds: Well thought out integrated tech, that isn't intrusive and takes away from a traditional and tactile sports car driving experience.
You can get pre wiring for a dash cam through the configurator, the Porsche branded dash cam it self is a dealer item I think. Also, the technology in a Porsche isn’t supposed to be as important or good as everything else. They’re driver oriented cars. I’m a Porsche enthusiast if you hadn’t noticed. :)
Dude CONGRATULATIONS! What a phenomenal car. So excited for you. Pumped for the car, pumped for all your success, you deserve it, man. And, now that you have one, I doubt you'll ever want to drive anything else. Porsche tends to do that to people (even my wife, who isn't a car person lol).
Peak MKBHD arc is starting as an electric car enthusiast but then getting that taste of the experience of high performance gas cars with the Z06 review, ultimately culminating in him selling his Plaid for a 911
This amazing to see. I remember the first video I've seen of Marques YEARS ago and to watch him achieve and make a dream come true. It's beautiful. Happy for you.
I have the 991.2 Turbo S and agree with all your points. I also have a MX Plaid--great tech and daily driver, but the Porsche is the best daily driver. Also, you might consider an older 997 S with stick-shift-I kept that one two and I take it our on the road for mind-clearing drives on weekends
a man of my taste! Congrats on the new ride and after this ... hard to go with anything else LOL. Soon you'll end up with a full garage of parts. Cheers and enjoy it in good health!
Having driven a number of Porsche models, I’ll tell you the Turbo S is the all around best. It’s a daily that makes you king of the road compared to just about any car. Sure an electric that is primed and ready is quicker to 60 but 90% of the cars around you can’t stay with the Turbo S. It’s truly a phenomenal car-an engineering pinnacle-and a great choice. Bravo, Marques.
This is the absolute most "tech" I'd want in a car anyway... IMO the last thing I want to do when I get in a car after a long day of screens is *more* screens. I want a refuge from the world constantly demanding my attention; to hop in and enjoy the process of just going somewhere. Sometimes slowly, sometimes very quickly. Great choice, btw.
You r 100% spot on, Teslas do not handle like a sports car. Driving a Tesla does not compare to a Porsche, which hugs the curves. Plus, cannot beat the engine/exhaust sound while driving. Congrats on the new ride!

@@zeldafan4567 well well well. New goal unlocked lol
Congrats, great choice and great spec!

1200 miles? are u kidding?

It's a solid package as most porsches are but dial all that to 9 like you said . Good benchmark, can't go wrong with this. Clean 👌

What do you have now?
@@Frankienoname0 I have a slightly modified TT RS (have an old video of it on my channel, actually).
Not to mention the carbon fiber accents and clear tail lights!

How you rated everything a 9/10 and not a 9/11 is amazing to me
a man of my taste!
I like what you said, fully agree
You r 100% spot on, Teslas do not handle like a sports car. Driving a Tesla does not compare to a Porsche, which hugs the curves. Plus, cannot beat the engine/exhaust sound while driving. Congrats on the new ride!
