To me Jacob is the best Vegas blogger, and that is saying something because there are many great ones. I love how he gives us the good bad and ugly of Vegas. Great resource before or trip to Vegas a couple of months ago.
I'm so glad The Plaza is finally getting the love it so desperately needed. All the newer updates and upgrades are absolutely welcome and needed. A bit of the classic style still remains but the newer additions helping keep it fresh. BTW, in my opinion Oscar's is absolutely top notch. The best crab cake I ever had outside of Maryland. (I literally cried when I took my last bite cuz I KNEW it was over and I'd never have it again until the next visit..) Another excellent video, my man.
Its so funny, I guess I'm the only one that found Oscars completely overrated. Maybe I just hit it on a bad night. But I've been to 15-20 steak places around the city and I'd hit them up again before going back to Socars.
@dcmidnight or maybe we hit it on an EXCELLENT nite. Lol. Honestly the tomahawk steak was decent but that crab cake was perfection. Maybe give it another go...??
@JohnBarney-yd2wq also...do a search from the Crab Corner in Vegas. It's off the strip, but they have as authentic Maryland crabs, chips, and fries as you can get!! They fly in blues weekly. Just like being in Ocean City! Lol.
I stay at The Plaza every year when I visit Las Vegas. I enjoy the location on Fremont Street (The Strip is too busy and crowded for me) and the vibe is just right. I'll be back there next month and can't wait to see the improvements made. Thanks Jacob for the review!
In 1995 my family and I went down there and stayed at the Plaza. We came down about 6 times between 1995 and 2008. We stayed at Plaza 5 out of the 6 times. It was nice. My aunt would book the rooms 410 and 412 so we could see the Nightly shows on the big experience from our rooms. It was great
Jacob, Great production. The fastest twenty-one minutes on You Tube. Your videos are the "Go To" if you're planning a vacation in Las Vegas. Thank You!
About 5 years ago I brought my family to the Plaza for a one night stay. Fortunately for us the front desk made a mistake in our reservation. As it turned we were given the suite. We so surprised! The hotel has evolved over the years especially since they added the Carousel Bar and PinkBox. My husband and I will be staying there in November. Looking forward to it!
I love the plaza. I've stayed there many of times and it remains on my occasional rotation. First time I stayed there around 2001 it was getting really run down and kind of a grandma casino. I stayed in the north tower rooms shortly after they were "renovated" using the furniture from the original defunct Fontainebleau auction. I love every tweak and refresh that has happened in the last few years, especially the carousel bar. The murals on the hotel tower are cool and i love that they maintain all the twinking lights better than they used to. Im glad to see her in such good shape.
We booked a room there last minute online for $34 and did the $20 trick and got upgraded to an amazing suite. Absolutely loved the vibe there and this video really brought back some great memories for me. Thanks legend 👍🏼
of all your channels this is the best. thanks. big fan of the quality work you do. P.S. i loved the picture of Fremont street back in my day. I miss driving downtown while drinking a cold beer. lol
🏨Plaza is awesome! They were gracious last year with hosting your meet & greet with Norma, Greta & Pompsie. Oscar's is bomb with a bomb view. Niiiiice there is a non smoking section in the casino! More hotels should have this as more people seem to prefer cleaner air while gambling. It's a bonus for hotels too if they want you to stay there longer. Of course, great vlog job as usual! 🎬👍👍
Jacob, I've been watching for a while and I just gotta say your production quality has vastly improved, like anything the more time you spend doing something (editing) the better you get at it and I'm here for it man! Editing is a thankless job that most people don't even consider but I appreciate the extra effort.
I agree with the editing as well. My issue with most of the Vegas UA-camrs is content. While the editing is top notch ,they are all running out of content ,and it shows
Thanks Jacob for the clear, concise and informative content on The Plaza. I will be visiting this Fall and splitting up my stay between The Plaza and The Elara Hilton.
Nice Review. Stayed there many times over the past couple years, solid place. Concur with your impressions. Notably, only place downtown with single Zero roulette, drops house advantage significantly from 5.8% (double zero) to just 2.4%.(single Zero). Use your players card while playing games - Plaza is liberal with comps and food discounts. Host Ashley is awesome. Plaza is making an effort lately, and it shows. Similar to Grand Downtown Resort - also stepping up their game. All great news for downtown. Very useful video. Thanks, Jacob
Jacob! Bravo! 🎉 Your videos are only improving as the years go by! Thanks for putting in so much time and energy into delivering great content for us all! Cheers!
That was a great review. I felt you showed it, good and not so good. You showed everything if not for the sloppy house keeping, would be a great budget stay and many unique options. I would definitely stay there on my next trip. Thank you for a great review. 😊
Jacob, I think that you honestly enjoy doing videos like these because you do them so well. I enjoy seeing the different types of resorts and the locations. More than anything though is the fact that I love your honest feedback about your stay. Much like the way that any of us could go through during the same visit in the same resort. You should do the fountain view room at the Cosmopolitan. It has an outdoor balcony that looks out over the fountain show.
Such a poor experience at El Cortez last March ('23) that I'm now looking for a new place to stay Downtown. Guess I'll try the opposite end of Fremont St. and stay at The Plaza. Thanks for an honest review.
Great video Jacob. I got a kick out of the pink box donut shop. Oscar's sounds really good. It's good to go downtown and get off the strip for a while. Thanks for doing such a good job with your videos. I always find them informative and fun at the same time. Take care.
Wow, that gym was the best I’ve seen in any hotel! I’d stay there just to try that out. I also prefer to gamble downtown. And you are looking jacked, dude. Your arm veins are popping!
I love the Plaza! Gym and pool are great! Some of my favorite times in Vegas has been at the Sand Dollar Lounge. The noise from trains and/or Fremont street are the only downsides. Absolutely a favorite
I haven't stayed at the Plaza since it was owned by Jackie Gaughan many moons ago. At that time it was a bit of a dump, but a great value for cheap rooms and food. I will be staying there again Aug 20th for three nights and your video shows that it still seems to be a good value.......only much cleaner! Thank you Jacob for the great tour!
Love me some Oscar's. Miss it. Need to get another rib cap when I go back to Vegas. Las Vegas Jerkys Inc is a routine stop for me also. Glad you mentioned it in the vid, bro. Love the shortbread cookies there, as well as the cinnamon bagel chips. As always, keep up the great work, Jacob. Always look forward to your videos.
Another cool and informative video. Very well done also. I have been watching you for several years. Looks like you have made a pretty good life for yourself in Vegas. Congrats this shows what hard work can bring a person.
Stayed at Plaza last year for my bday.. since then I've been back twice more on comps. It's much more laid back than the strip. Can't wait to get back and visit with the new updates..pinkbox looks amazing, and Hash House is always great!
What the heck! That hotel gym alone has me sold! I’ve never seen such a cool gym at a hotel. When I stayed in downtown I usually do the little walk to the 24 hour fitness.
I loved that horse racing game I noticed that at the Plaza it pays out a little better compared to the D also the double round comes out more often I noticed when its full of people playing it.
There are 4 whole floors of smoking rooms and smoking is still allowed in the casino. There is a brand new room added to the casino that is non smoking.
I stayed at the Plaza last yr for the first time and loved it. I will be there again on Aug 27 until Sept 1 this year can't wait to see the carousel bar and pinkbox and the no smoking casino add on. They were working on it last yr when I was there
Hey Big Jake, been a Sub for a while now. Watch your videos as I come to Vegas 2 times a year for a couple weeks each time. No high roller, just able to find good deals thanks to your videos. 1 thing I'd like to request is in your wrap up at the end of your videos, could you include the parking garage height limit.many of us drive trucks, and where we can stay is dependant on if we can park our trucks there. We don't all all drive hybrid smart cars..lol Appreciate the help and good luck in 2024..
Thank for the video; it's pretty clear that they have put some money into the place. Visited the Plaza in June for the first time in 20+ years. Pool and gym look nice than I expected.
"shub" new way to describe shower and tub... like it! gonna use it from now on. layout certainly different... like that the bath is located away from the door.
Thanks Jacob for your detailed review I saw a coffee maker which I love so I don’t have to pay $8 cup😂 Been thinking about going to the Plaza so this video came at the right time Thank you ❤
Love your videos. I haven’t heard anything lately about the Rio or Excalibur? Is there anything going on with either, like remodeling or closing? Keep up the great stuff
i went there along time ago dont know if they particpate food places yes you cant smoke in there but smoke can come inside i remember eating in a place in a casino
Been watching for over a year now, need to give a huge kudos to Jacob for uping the production quality after every video!
Agreed! Maps, text, screenshots. Nice little touches. Hopefully the other vloggers will follow and push
To me Jacob is the best Vegas blogger, and that is saying something because there are many great ones. I love how he gives us the good bad and ugly of Vegas. Great resource before or trip to Vegas a couple of months ago.
they dnt have that race slot anymore in atlantic city smoking is horrible for the workers and others
i think william hill is owned by cesars now they still use their name though william hilll is the vendor providing the sports book
I’ve been following Jacob for 6-7 years and he’s improved his channel every year.
He knows what we want.
Thanks for showing the only non-smoking casino in Downtown LV and keep up the good work
Thank you Joey! I will certainly will. I appreciate the super thanks!
There are still 4 floors of hotel rooms for smokers and the casino is still smoking although they have added on to the casino with a non smoking room.
@@SheilaStuarti like smoking. My GF hates it. So we can stay at the same casino and play in different areas
I'm so glad The Plaza is finally getting the love it so desperately needed. All the newer updates and upgrades are absolutely welcome and needed.

Thank you Rick!
I live in Baltimore. I may have to try the crab cake there!

Putting out the table minimums like you did is great! Thank you.
You're welcome dawg! I figured it would be helpful

I appreciate it Dave!
My grandparents took me to Vegas for the first time in 1991 when I was only 7 years old and this is the place we stayed…been hooked ever since. Lol
About 5 years ago I brought my family to the Plaza for a one night stay. Fortunately for us the front desk made a mistake in our reservation. As it turned we were given the suite. We so surprised! Your channel is so much better now .... Big differance from a few years ago thanks
Best part about The Plaza was getting to meet Jacob there in March! Thanks for taking the time to talk to my mom and say hi to us at Sand Dollar.
Good job Jacob I always enjoy your vids but today I thought you did great. Very fluid and good photography
Ironically, I was just thinking about booking a room at the Plaza, then your brand new video pops up lol.
Very good review and coverage of the Plaza.
We booked a room there last minute online for $34 and did the $20 trick and got upgraded to an amazing suite. Absolutely loved the vibe there and this video really brought back some great memories for me. Thanks legend 👍🏼

Very informative and thorough coverage of The Plaza. Really enjoyed viewing it. Well done.

Yes bingo plaza is the place to play
Thanks for finally showing the bingo halls

Very detailed review of the Plaza. Excellent video ! Thanks Jacob
LOVE all of your content...Pls give some love to Suncoast Casino...my favorite casino/hotel when I visit Vegas!! Huge rooms, and clean!
Great video Jacob. I got a kick out of the pink box donut shop. Oscar's sounds really good. It's good to go downtown and get off the strip for a while. Thanks for doing such a good job with your videos. I always find them informative and fun at the same time. Take care.
Thanks Maria 😀
I've stayed at the Plaza a handful of times. I find it to be a refreshing change from the crush of the strip. Thanks for a balanced review.
Great review! 😉👍
Great video man! For us it was between this place and the Linq and we chose here due to value and now seems like the right choice.
Thanks!!
Love these videos. I totally know what I am getting at these casinos when I watch your videos.
Oh! What an amazing way of seeing the world! Thanks for this new experience!
Wow, that gym was the best I’ve seen in any hotel! I’d stay there just to try that out. I also prefer to gamble downtown. And you are looking jacked, dude. Your arm veins are popping!
Love your detailed infos thanks
Great production!
I loved it.
Plaza is a good hotel to retirees and couples on a budget.
Plaza does provide ear plugs for rooms facing Fremont St.
Jacob’s drawstring bag needs its own YT or IG channel. 🎒
We need a link to the drawstring bag!
I love the Plaza! Gym and pool are great! Some of my favorite times in Vegas has been at the Sand Dollar Lounge. The noise from trains and/or Fremont street are the only downsides. Absolutely a favorite

had my best black jack hand ever at the plaza ended up splitting like 6 aces in a row and won all of them
I love that signage, so cool!

Jacob another OUTSTANDING VEDEO
Another cool and informative video. Very well done also. I have been watching you for several years. Looks like you have made a pretty good life for yourself in Vegas. Congrats this shows what hard work can bring a person.

You're welcome Klaus!

great video quality my friend. keep it up!
Another great one
What the heck! That hotel gym alone has me sold! I’ve never seen such a cool gym at a hotel. When I stayed in downtown I usually do the little walk to the 24 hour fitness.
As a kid my grandpa worked for Greyhound which had a station next to the Plaza. Remember walking through the Plaza almost daily throughout the 90s.
Love the plaza try to stay there every visit. I like that you can get a break from the craziness of Fremont street when you need it.
thumbs up for the great intro with good music!
i really like those vintage photos
Was there over 4th of July. The Plaza did an amazing job with the renovations.
I loved that horse racing game I noticed that at the Plaza it pays out a little better compared to the D also the double round comes out more often I noticed when its full of people playing it.
The entire damn soundtrack is some🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve heard good things! Cant wait to checkout the Plaza someday! Atlantic City is just to much closer for me
We had the lime popsicle donuts from the Plaza's Pink Box. Excellent!
You are awesome, Jacob, thank you! Haven’t visited since 2021, but might be back there during our 25th wedding anniversary, next year!
There are 4 whole floors of smoking rooms and smoking is still allowed in the casino. There is a brand new room added to the casino that is non smoking.
❤ Luv the old time Plaza pool photo!
Loved your energy on Peter's channel! New Subbie 🎉❤
Welcome to the channel!
I stayed at the Plaza last yr for the first time and loved it. I will be there again on Aug 27 until Sept 1 this year can't wait to see the carousel bar and pinkbox and the no smoking casino add on. They were working on it last yr when I was there

We always stay at MGM Park for the same reason, non-smoking!
The Plaza is not fully nonsmoking
I saw (Aug 2nd around 1pm) you yesterday at the Forum Food court by Caesar’s… Thank you for making videos 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
"shub" new way to describe shower and tub... like it! gonna use it from now on. layout certainly different... like that the bath is located away from the door.
just those shots of Jacob reacting to the ATM fees makes my day 🤣
😂
Thanks Jacob for your detailed review
I saw a coffee maker which I love so I don’t have to pay $8 cup😂
Been thinking about going to the Plaza so this video came at the right time
Thank you ❤
Hi Jacob. I’m new to your channel. My sister Shanta’ recommended your channel. Thanks for the information! 😃
Production value 100%
Bro that intro music is dope AF!!!!!!!
Love your videos. I haven’t heard anything lately about the Rio or Excalibur? Is there anything going on with either, like remodeling or closing? Keep up the great stuff
That intro and song!! 😍
Great video Jacob. I’m pretty sure the pool and gym scenes could attract some potential dates 😮 👍🇨🇦
Hey Jacob, always enjoy your videos! Do you have a list of non-smoking places in Vegas? Bars, casinos, restaurants etc?
i went there along time ago dont know if they particpate food places yes you cant smoke in there but smoke can come inside i remember eating in a place in a casino
Love your into!
Love your hotel videos!
That has to be one of the best hotel gyms I’ve ever seen! That alone sold me on this hotel next time I’m in Vegas😂
👍 Great videos.
I remember your first plaza hotel room tour years ago!!
kewl pick in the pool and the background
