- This is by no means trying to outdo the work of the voice actor from the remake, but serves to show what could’ve been had they created Ada Wong closer to her original counterpart from Resident Evil 4. I stayed true to the original script from the remake, but may have also inserted my own production and writing for a couple scenes. My apologies in advance for the laundry bit; it's my favorite line from my favorite movie so I had to include it. Here is Ada Wong from the Resident Evil 4 Remake with her original voice actor. I remade Ada Wong from the Resident 4 Remake into her original voice actor, and this is by no means saying one is better than the other since that is for you to decide ❤️

So true, the old voice sounds a lot sassy, sexy, mature and mysterious. The new voice sounds like she just reached 18, while being confident, sounded a lot like she’s pretending or forcing herself to act cool. Really not the Ada Wong we know and love.

yeah, but they just had to replace her with an asian, and not even an asian that can play the part well. she hasn't been voiced by an asian all these years but we're in the woke era now, changing nearly every established, popular character in some major way.
replacing every male avenger with females, turning lara croft into a lesbian in the next tomb raider game, and many other ridiculous changes of popular characters.
this is how i know the entire entertainment industry is controlled by the same satanic group, they all started pushing this woke religion hard all at once, even though it's significantly less profitable. making money is no longer their primary concern, br@inw@shing people into their woke ideology is.

I prefer the new voice actor for Ada but the OG sounds good too !, I just really like the new more mature vibe she gives her, and she is the Ada from the live action movie too which is really cool

OG is the goat but I do like this new one too, i'd give it a chance for RE5R
Actually this is a super interesting yet hard topic.
Wesker has had many actors, yet basically all of them have been great actors that have given the character a “unique” voice. All have used the same range so despite him being voiced by a different people, he still is the same character!
My favorite performance is Wesker from the Umbrella Chronicles game. But by far the most praised performance by the general public is Re5’s Douglas Wesker, who made the character more “explosive” instead of the “calm and collected” villain he seems to be at a quick glance.
Too Bad Wesker's old VA was kinda a prick.

The voice actor ain’t doing too good though, I mean like. She barely sounds like she has any emotions. All she is like is just “meh” in her voice.
The OG Ada VA gives a lot of emotions in her voice. Feels natural and flirty at the times, but that's what makes it beautiful.
This should be a mod. With some more effects that make the voice feel more natural this would probably be one of the most downloaded mods.

Jolene anderson fits THIS Ada Perfectly. The one from the OG fits THAT Ada. This is still good but its still kinda off. It is LEAGUES better than the "Original" Actress

I think I liked RE2R’s Ada voice best. While I love original Ada’s voice, it did feel a bit over-the-top at times. The campy feel fit with original RE4 while RE2R is more realistic. RE4R’s one is a bit deeper than I was expecting and she clearly doesn’t have as much experience with voice acting or the ability to express subtle emotion through tone. It falls a bit flat even if it isn’t outright unbearable to listen to.

Personally, I agree with this statement. Jolene's voice in RE2 Remake was fine. It was a good place to start since we do see Ada multiple times in the series. They could've worked with it as the character progressed.

me too, and i didn't even care for that voice too much, but it wasn't horrendous like this new one. i think courtenay taylor played ada perfectly in re6. she sounded very similar to re4 ada, she had a slightly more serious tone yet kept the charm. she was the perfect ada imo.

I could've accepted the...'wardrobe' change for the difference in tone, but my immediate reaction upon hearing her the first time was "WTF did they do to her voice?"
This put a lot more of the playful tease she was back into her delivery, and it still suits the tone just fine

Honestly, Luis and some minor characters were done well too. But yeah nothing tops the original's voice acting. I especially disliked Krauser's and Ada's voice acting.

Love it! Just remember, Ada doesn't just sound classy, she uses classy vocab (but nothing snobbish). Also don't forget her sarcasm. Remember OG RE4? She breathed sarcasm in every line.
Old school ada felt kinda like Catwoman to me and new ada feels like no nonsense straight to business spy with a soft spot for Leon. I don't mind the new take, infact I like it a bit more but that new voice just sounded really off to me. They should've kept Jolene Anderson cause her voice really matched the new design and face.

@@thihaaung647Nah, the original voice was better. But what got really annoying was changing Leon's personality. They wanted to do something more realistic and serious, a traumatized guy and etc... and ok, I think it's fair. But why not use Leon from RE6 or animations as a base? Honestly I found this Leon strange, forced and without personality. The action interactions are great but...the rest feels like a robot. Same thing with Ada. The interaction between Leon and Ada gets to be tedious, they seem like two strangers. Too forced and forgettable. What they focused and spent on remodeling Ashley into a more mature and sexy fanboy-pleasing character (she looks older than this Leon lol) could have been spent on keeping the original voice actors. At least Ada, as Leon started to be reworked in RE2 Remake.
But regardless of anything the game is fantastic, it deserves all the success we are seeing. I don't think it replaces the classic...but it's a respectable remake.
I love both Leon. And getting the OG Leon voice sounds like a great bonus to me.

It's called voice acting for a reason, a lot of people would be losing their jobs _(even if they're fantastic at it)_ if they can only voice characters with the same nationality as theirs. Lily Gao is great on her own. But for Ada's role? I'm sorry to say this, but she has to make an extra effort to best the previous VAs of Ada. Sally Cahill is the perfect voice cast for RE4 Ada. I'm getting goosebump when she said her original line here. Now, just tweak a little bit of the script then it's perfect.

Doesn't Descript require you to record yourself giving permission to use your own voice? If so figure it's unlikely. Perhaps ElevenLabs was utilized, as that one doesn't require a recording of permission and just requires you to tick a box to pretend you have permission to use a voice.

I saw another video where uses the voice of Courtney Taylor from RE6, also excellent. This video I guess would be better if did not change her lines, otherwise in the first half all these flirting words ("baby", "no ticket no laundry") sound very unnatural and out of place. In any case, it's very funny that the AI did a better job than Lily Gao.

I think Yahtzee hit the nail on the head that the tone and delivery of dialogue overall has changed to become less camp, B-horror movie like, in favour of Marvel Agents of Shield tonally. This version of Ada Wong and her Re2 remake feel more like Ming-Wa's character from that series and the voice actresses take cues directionally from the vocal director. The quality or the delivery, where to punctuate, cadence/pacing, or flavour lines is generally missing from the game in the remake, you just notice it more with Ada than you do the rest of the cast because she's not distracting you as the 'bitch in the red dress' anymore. I'd argue the lines falling flat for some/most is more of a general directional tone shift more so than the voice actress. Even having this, isn't the same as the original take either, which might be nostalgia too.
I think the quality of the voice is pretty similar through out every version of "Ada Wong" the issue more so is the direction of said lines, aka Other M's main issue in localization but that's another take for another time. Instead of being upset at the voice actress, be upset at the director and editors wanting the takes to go in the direction they did, largely across the board. Maybe ask for a DLC to bring back the camp (and colour) through vocal re-direction with the cast they have now, they got the chops for it, trust.
