Just got prescribed this but my doc started me at 50mg. I took my first dose last night, since i took it before bed i did not take it with food. This morning I woke up and felt on edge like I was on speed but so tired like i was on an overdose of NyQuil. I was also very light headed. The on edge and drowsiness wore off after about 3 hrs but my body, I dont feel pain but my body feels wore out. The craziest thing is, my wife said she woke up at 3:30am because she heard me talking. She said i was asleep and had my hand up to my ear and was having a full conversation with my best friend. I even said alright brother got to go bye. I called my doctor this morning. After watching this im thinking they started me off on to high of a does. Thanks so much for posting this. Its great to read the comments and know that it was not just me having issues.
my first day (yesterday) I took the whole pill 50mg at 5 pm and i couldn't sleep till 5-6 AM and even after there was no deep sleep lets see what happens today :) but it works and I had no urge to drink
I learned the hard way. I got my first prescription of naltrexone yesterday (4year binge drinker) 50mg. I took my first one at 5pm when my cravings were the worst. I didn’t drink however i did take it without eating anything. After a few hot flashes and everything I felt pretty decent until the next morning. I had nausea really really bad to the point of almost vomiting. I’m going to see if maybe I need a lower dose.
Hey there! I understand your concern. There are options to see a telemedicine physician who specializes in naltrexone. If you joined our private online support program for the Sinclair method, we could refer you to a physician in the United States. I’ll leave a link here for you. www.thrivealcoholrecovery.com/
First two months on it made me feel like I was starting to roll on Ecstasy every time after I took it. Sex was way better and orgasms lasted several minutes instead of seconds! That’s all faded now but I only take it right before bed since it causes drowsiness.
Thinking about dropping down to 25mg. I am having ALOT of anxiety the day after drinking with Naltrexone. Much more than what would be considered normal.

I didn’t feel anything after the first 10 days. You will get used to it
Could the nausea and vomiting be from the medicine inducing a withdrawal?

Does anyone know if this would work for ketamine?
I don’t know…did a quick google and found this study pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24813545/

I used valium for 2 weeks, now I'm getting naltrexone and there's another medicine (alpopram)or something
How long should we take naltrexone...like for many years....until you are sober?
I took it for about a year following the Sinclair Method 😎
