Is it the mother or wife ?
Never let 'em see you coming. Such good advice.
When I go to court and the judge asks me to identify myself Ill say Im the hand on Mona Lisa’s skirt
I loved the speech at the end we’re here talks about him and god that’s my favorite part in all of movie history
0:26 - 0:38: All these years later, and I've JUST now discovered an Easter Egg!
Kevin was actually sent to do God's work. For those of you that have seen this gem of a film before, you'll probably laugh at my observation. To that I say, watch the moment indicated by my timestamp. Look at the label on the box that delivery guy was carrying behind Kevin. Now think about what Kevin accomplished towards the end of the film. The director was cluing us in on Kevin's ultimate purpose on Earth. You'll definitely rewatch this film after seeing what I just pointed out...😂❤
I just now commented on that because I just noticed it: "Halo Electric" on the box and "Airborne Express" on the van in the background.
The guy carrying the "Halo Lighting" box behind them
She’s trying to walk....😂 hahahaha!
And then later in the movie Kevin's girlfriend is trying to walk and she is all cut thinking "who the hell is this guy?"
Notice at 0:36 you see a man carrying a box that says "Halo Lighting" and an "Airborne Express" truck driving by in the back. It's the little things that count.
Halo Lightning on the box= subliminal message/reference to saturn and lucifer falling from heaven as lightning
In short... "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."
That "Underestimated from day one." comment holds a lot of subtextual weight relative to his relationship with god.
These films shaped my personality. Once my kids are 12 they will have a full list of these types of movies... I was reading stephen king when i was 10... It's why i am who i am, and the people i grew up with aren't like me. Not just art not just entertainment...
" You would never think i was a master of the universe now, would you? " He just low key, told him he was the devil. Even in his sarcasm , hes still vain.
you never guess I am master of the universe
You might want to read "Paradise Lost" by John Milton.
The first time i saw this, I half thought he was Satan after this speech, at the end it was verified. But this made me think that way, Pure genius script writing plus a genius actor pulling it off like a boss. I may not have been a fan of all of Pacino's works, but I never doubt the genius of it
Wouldn't you know it from the start? Cuz it's kinda obvious. The film's damn name is "Devil's Advocate".
@@spacemann1425, I was much younger when this came out, i never read too far into titles, I just loved watching the movies. Honestly i never really dug too deep, just watched. This was one of the first where I really started reading between the lines
It really is a fantastic script for those who actually understand the subject matter. Best rendition of the prince of lies.
The "Halo Lighting" box following Kevin was a nice touch. So many hints as to what's really going on that you miss on the first pass.
Great catch!
I saw that in 1997, what was the Halo lightning meaning please
don't get too cocky no matter how good you are
Lesson learned the hard way considering how he allegedly fell from grace the frist time around. Have to nod my head in agreement to that statement tho the best game in town is never advertised you either know or you don't. Same way a jeweller never puts the priceless stuff in the shop window and only shows it to those he knows can afford it...
Awesome writing
Only Pacino could deliver it
I believe he is who ever he portrays
I swore he was the Devil himself in this movie
Wow that sh•t always stay in mind since it came out had to come back in hear again
such an important movie.
Never present yourself in a manner where your opponent can prepare to put their best self forward…
What a scene...
“Don't get too cocky my boy. No matter how good you are don't ever let them see you coming. That's the gaffe my friend. You gotta keep yourself small. Innocuous. Be the little guy. You know, the nerd... the leper... shit-kickin' surfer. Look at me. Underestimated from day one. You'd never think I was a master of the universe, now would ya?”
The most classic true statement in a movie
