The wishmaster djinn could have been a legitimate horror icon like pinhead,Jason or Freddy if they hadn't switched the actor after part two. Andrew Divoff was great as the djinn.
The pacing of the feet rotating was perfect. Just as you're wondering to yourself, "How could this work?" It still doesn't make any sense, but it sells the concept effectively and by that point you are laughing to much to think about it

If he's in prison, it means he's been convicted and sentenced. There are no "charges" to drop as there are no outstanding charges against him (unless we're talking about _additional_ pending charges unrelated to his present incarceration). He'd need a whole retrial, and I doubt they'll get one because of a "potentially damaging procedural screw-up." That ship has sailed.
Depending on the screwup. The court of appeals takes screwups very seriously if you can prove it. And depending on evidence and the nature of the screwup it can lead to a retrial or even a downright acquittal
