This movie really wasn't bad. I liked how the twist wasn't who was the Devil but the subplot reveal of the guy in the elevator being the one to accidentally killed the family in the car accident.
I like how they tied everything together. The detective opening up to try to be the voice of reason, an the military guy later admitting he was the one who was to blame. I think part of the reason military guy got to live, was because detective forgave him at some point in his recovery.
Whenever I get stuck in a lift and the lights go out, Satan normally reveals himself in the form of an outrageously loud, smelly fart! It is truly frightening, and no one knows from where he comes from, but then again I usually expect it is the quiet little old lady in the corner with the evil grin on her face.
Its a great movie because of this scene. Its actually biblical, when you confess your sins and repent, the devil and his demons, don't have legal right to you anymore. That's why in the book of Job from the old testament, the devil had to ask permission from God to touch Job's life, because Job was a good man. The devil didn't have any legal right to touch Job. Its the same thing today, we sin, we open a door to the evil ones, so make sure you close those doors

Another interesting thing is that the devil doesn’t explicitly lie here. It says nothing factually untrue. But it tries to get the victim to question themselves. I'm not sure that's the case, I'm not a Christian (I'm an atheist), but if I recall correctly, God created the Devil and so the Devil is NOT a balancing act to God. God can vanquish the Devil any time he wants, and God was here before the Devil, therefore one does not necessarily need to believe in the Devil to believe in God.
@@predxeno in other stories the devil is a fallen angel, or even gods brother. Even without the reference of God and the devil the same still applies to good and evil. One can't exist without the other. I'm not really religious either although I still respect each cultures belief system highly

just watched it a second time today. hadn't seen it since it first came out. Just realized the detective coincidently was outside the building when everything started on purpose and the wife just so happened to be let up into the room before he was meant to die. Either the devil wanted them both to be a witness or god wanted the detective there.
God wanted the detective to be there for closure I guess. And to test him if he confessed his biggest sin. I think god wanted to see if he would forgive him for killing his child and wife or end up killing him himself

God has forgiven him, God's mercy is greater than any of our guilt that's why the old woman told him she really wanted him, repentance opens the door to heaven as instead the thief on the cross next to Jesus, The thief said to Jesus to remember him when he entered his kingdom, and Jesus replied that today he would enter Paradise with him.

@@joshlasky8138 ... he didn’t write the screenplay or direct this one he was a producer and had written the story the screenplay was based. Ever Logan Green movie is severely underrated honestly.
I like how the devil wanted him SOOO bad compare to the others that it killed everyone else to make him suffer more then reveled itself just to torment him more just for the biggest sinner to repent and the devil loses the soul he wanted the most.
Yeah, well, it doesn't work like this in real life... Satan is the choice of the weak, the choice of "edgy alternative" teens (I'm 22 right now, so...) that turn to the Devil thinking it's all a joke, or maybe because their parents separated, or because they hate themselves and think they're beyond salvation... All is well and good until your family members start dying at an alarming rate (so that you don't have the time to recover), your life is put at stake (but you do not die just yet, that would be too easy)... And then, you try to do something good for others but it doesn't do anything to alleviate your pain: sum all these things up and you realize God gave up on you a long time ago, it's as simple as that...
The others were Bad persons too
So you're saying The Devil is good lol.

Because among the others he's the one that is really remorseful and far from her grasp that's why she couldn't kill him yet, the others were already hers from the very beginning
This movie really wasn't bad. I liked how the twist wasn't who was the Devil but the subplot reveal of the guy in the elevator being the one to accidentally killed the family in the car accident.
And that mother and child is the family of the police investigator
Just like in the mechanic
I like how they tied everything together. The detective opening up to try to be the voice of reason, an the military guy later admitting he was the one who was to blame. I think part of the reason military guy got to live, was because detective forgave him at some point in his recovery.

Unless you're the Doomslayer I guess then you wouldn't care if the devil touched you or not
This is the dumbest comment I've ever seen. It's illegal for the devil? Did he have to take a BAR exam to learn that too? How good of a legal advisor is he?
"Legal right" this isn't the fucking law dipshit

This a movie and demons and gods are fictional.
Another interesting thing is that the devil doesn’t explicitly lie here. It says nothing factually untrue. But it tries to get the victim to question themselves. It doesn’t say “you cannot be forgiven” but “you think you can be forgiven?” It says “you’re not good.” Not “you can never be good” etc. A way to imply it without saying it. It would be a super interesting premise that the devil can’t explicitly go against God in that way. It can’t say the person can’t be forgiven because he can. I'm not sure that's the case, I'm not a Christian (I'm an atheist), but if I recall correctly, God created the Devil and so the Devil is NOT a balancing act to God.
