Hey everyone! In this video I share how you can use the build modifier in Blender 3d to create construction animations of your 3d assets. This is a really great yet simple way to add an artistic touch to your breakdowns or 3d work. Enjoy and let us know what visual effects you want to learn next! Hey im doing a film project in unreal engine, but for modeling i use blender. Should i still do this kind of animation in blender and then export it to ue? I thought about a stairs which build up themselves
Hi there, In my opinion unless you are doing realtime VFX for an LED volume or want to use preset character animations Blender is going to be the better tool for most VFX shots. UE is good but its a game engine that is being used for vfx....vfx is not really what it is designed for specifically. Hope this helps.
When you say "apply the build modifier" repeatedly in the beginning of the video, what you really mean to say is "make use of the build modifier". To "apply" a modifier in Blender language means to destructively edit your mesh by permanently committing the changes you are making with that modifier.
Is it possible to export this animation as an fbx for use in something like Unreal? I tried with an object earlier but it didn’t seem to pick up the animation

Yes you are correct. Its a big difference. Should have clarified.
Good
Thanks Bruno! Appreciate the feedback!
@@LightArchitect you're welcome! 😃

Is there any way to export this effect as an animation into an fbx file? I would like to use this effect in Unity.
Hmm. I'm not sure actually. I'd have to test it out for myself.
