Thank you for the tutorials my problem is that I don't know how to render this as an animation , when I apply this modifier to my object nothing happen
For even more detail build the final object with faces, or objects that ALSO have the build modifier, This way the effect will be more detailed and complex. Your Tuts are GREAT!!!
Thanks Justin, good tutorial. If you ever have time, I'm interested in instancing and there aren't many tutorials. Trying to understand Blender manual is for people above my understanding. 🤣
great video. say for instance i want to animate a 3D printer printing an object line by line. what would i need to do that. do i also have to use modifiers. i did play a bit with the liquid one but that did not work out too well as you can only lay down in one axis at a time. the build modifier looks like it can work but still not getting the right efect. if i can get it to hide the model and reveal one line at a time as if it was laid down by the printer that would be great.
I want to animate my mesh being built and the dismantled and I've been trying to do that by animating the reverse property but that doesnt seem to work, any tips?
The people at Blender who came up with the Manual need to take a page out of your tutorials to meaningfully reach out to the intended audience. Not sure I'd have dived into Blender were it not for excellent, to the point tutorials from you and others here on youtube like Blender Guru.
hey Justin great tutorial, - but how does one apli the build modifier so it become an animation? im in object mode and aplyen the build, and then the animation and the mesh disappear. im then trying to export it as an fbx without aplying the build , but that is not working either. What can i do ? regards Frank Fenriz DK

such a late reply, but you talked about sorting... but didn't show how to do that
HOW TO SMOOTHEN THE ANIMATION USING BUILD MODIFIER
very clear on how to operate this ! thank you~
Your tuts are excellent and easy to understand...would love a video series which cover all the modifiers in blender

Ooh I didn't even think of that - that sounds awesome! :)
Very cool .......... I could of used this several times. Thanks for the exposure to this Modifiers.

I love your easy to follow tutorials, thank you.
this is the most epic intro i've ever seen
Thanks for this amazing tutorial.
It will be very helpful if you create a house constructing animation by this way...

Make a complete animation for construction and breakdown video of it
How do i sort by "selected" ? I tried many methods, its like, the button is useless.

You don't apply it - you keyframe it at different values in your animation
