Thank you Rachel. Finally understand what a vet is saying. My havineese is a nightmare to feed. My late son gave him to us and I can't believe how nervous and afraid he and his mom and sister are. Lot's of fighting where they were born. At least I can feed him healthy, if he eats it.

Natural balance limited ingredients is limited based on the type of meat used specifically with dogs with food allergies. Many brands always mix the types of meats within the kibble. I noticed several brands that say it’s lamb or duck will always include chicken or beef which is the most common type of meat dogs are allergic to.

How do you feel about NuVet vitamins And PawTree dog kibble?
I always enjoy your Informative videos. Is there a warm water salmon? LOL I argue with Hill's people all the time. They insist grains and carbs are good for dogs and cats. I realize this is about dog food, but . . the #1 selling cat food, cats are obligate carnivores, is Purina Cat Chow. The first ingredients are: Chicken By-Product Meal, Ground Yellow Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Whole Grain Wheat, Rice, Soy Flour, Salt. The first few ingredients of Corn Chex breakfast cereal: Corn Meal, Whole Grain Corn, Sugar, Corn Starch, Salt. No wonder human and pet health care is such a profitable industry.
Cat chow is no good for cats. I would rather feed my cat instinct raw boost.
Animals need nutrients not ingredients. The foods she’s suggesting don’t meet WSAVA guidelines….
@@nicoler4597 Dogs and cats are designed to process organic nutrients found in real food, not synthetics. WSAVA is funded mostly by Hill's, Purina, Mars and several pharmaceutical companies. Their guidelines came from a committee headed by Dr. Lisa Freeman, DVM. She also does work for Hill's and Purina.

What do you think about instinct kibble+raw ??
Hello Rachel! I have a question. My 8 year old cavapoo has undergone spinal surgery from 3 years ago and now currently tore his ACL and meniscus. Ever since spinal surgery I have had him on Carna 4. Wanted to give him a high quality kibble. Problem is when we took him for surgery recently, his cholesterol is high. The specialist said he isn’t worried about it right now but he can have a predisposition to a condition (such as Cushing or adrenal glands)… so I have been doing my research and it says low fat high fiber diets can help with the cholesterol levels. I have been looking at all the recommendations on your list. But is there a dog brand dry dog food kibble you recommend? All the kibbles I’m finding actually have high levels of fat and low levels of fiber. Or is there a way I can keep him on a kibble and just add in fiber alternatives? Thank you
What do you think of Dr. Marty's or Bedland Ranch Superfood. Are they as good as they advertise them to be. I have an very picky eater and she is did not do well on Farmers Dog, Ollie and now she is not eating the Stella and Chewy Gently Cooked.

open farm kibble has oats, brown rice and Quinoa for puppy food . is that high in carbs if wanted to have kibble option for puppy. I know sweet potatoe, potatoes , peas, and corn is no good for dogs. Is the percentage of grains for the puppy food too high. whats your opinion on primal puppy food . I know you mention small batch , viva, and all provide . Primals not on your list but you mentioned it

Horrible switch. Hills is one of the best out there and you’re switching to a brand not properly formulated, no research, no feeding trials. Unfortunately this person has zero place to be giving this advice. Ingredients aren’t the place to judge dog food. It’s one of the worst ways.
@@nicoler4597 Everyone has their own opinion. I’m looking at facts and evidence. My dogs are happier with shiny coats and finish their bowls rather than leaving kibble to the waste bin.
Yes thanks for sharing this because vets suck because my ex vet giving my dog hills and been on it for 3 years until I been watching dr Marty ,dr Morgan and you. Thank you. We have seen a big different in our Colby his 5 years old that’s on holistic food and homemade food with dr Marty treats. Milk bone and once again thank you 🙏 he will never ever have them again . My Colby is my first dog ever and his my world

What are your thoughts for The Farmer's Dog food?
Rachel m question has nothing to do with this video but I have a question? My daughter has a dog who has EPI and can’t afford the vet medication recommended. Is there anything else she can do that is holistic to help her pet? Reason they are thinking of giving the dog to the pound and I really hate that thought. They just can’t afford between $300 to $500 dollars a month on meds and vet visits. Or is there someone you can recommend me to?
Hi. My dog had this condition and the only person that helped us was a dog internist with an MRI. We changed food to Dr. Harvey’s Raw vibrance formula and we cooked the chiken breast on an instant por and freeze by portions. This was extremely helpful for her condition. We avoided oils . You can read their recommendations or call them they are a fantastic high quality midly affordable brand

At this point I would feed my puppy anything. I have a 9 month mini dachshund vet says she healthy but won’t eat don’t like anything other than freeze dried chicken that’s not heathy to feed as a meal and too expensive , I have bought a can and bag of everything in the pet store even cooked her steak and broccoli haha nope she don’t like it going broke trying to find her something and it goes to waste .😢
@Erica-zo8wy my Luka is very picky but he likes Open Farm freeze dried raw. It’s sold in specialty stores only. I get it from Pet Food Express or maybe you can order online

The biggest criticism is you don't address the level of calcium and phosphorus in commercial pet food. I point out that organic nutrients in fresh food has low bioavailability in dogs and cats. The Pet Food Puzzle Guy did a review on "Sunday for Dogs" & its HIGH in Phosphorus & Calcuim he said it was over load on your dogs kidneys..
Sunday For Dogs is bad if you have a Senior dog & your feeding the same pet food that is high Phosphorus & Calcuim
No good to feed 24/7, month after month, year after year.

Ok this a personal opinion not a professional opinion. Remember that!! The best thing to do is talk to your vet if you aren't sure what food to feed your dog. I have a question for you. Do you have a four-year undergraduate degree in animal sciences, biological science or agricultural science? Because if you don't be very careful what you say about products in a field where you should have some kind of degree. Many people will believe anything on the internet. I have fed my all my dogs hills their whole lives. My St Bernard girl lived to be 16 which is unheard of. My St Bernard boy lived to be 15. My 2 great Pyrenees lived to be 15. Again old for these breeds. I have 2 mini aussies who act like puppies and they are 9. I would say that grocery store dog food like ol Roy, actual store brands, pedigree etc. Are not good food to be feeding your dogs. Hills happens to be an excellent food and like I said I've fed all my dogs hills their whole lives and they lived to be very old.

Hi Rachel i have a Dogo pup and i fed him Health Extensions lg breed puppy, but he don't like it. I am feeding him Chicken Soup For The Dog Lovers Soul lg breed puppy, he likes that food. Can you tell me if that's a healthy food? It looks good to me, but i don't know everything about dog food.
