Does this seem like a decent tech tree for the british turreted tds? forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/339678-what-do-you-guys-think-of-this/page__fromsearch__1
I know what they need to do now! Do what the Americans have done! Get the original tank line, stick a new tier 10 TD on it and create a second line of TDs that have turrets, with the FV215b 183 as the Tier X. Surely, there must be enough of the things to make the project worthwhile.
Thank you for making a Finn very happy! Featuring the Charioteer in the video was just what I hoped for, but mentioning the StuG III and captured T-26/KV-1 was even better. Thanks Jingles, Ed, and Eddie!
Thanks Jingles, it's nice to be able to get a narrated tour of a museum outside the states. And it also gives everyone a huge appreciation for how incredibly frightening the world was tank crews before things like reactive armor and Tiger tanks around the next corner. Those men had balls that make us look like boys.
I gotta say I'm really jazzed about you coming to Dayton to check out Wright-Patt and the Air Force Museum. I was born and raised about an hour from Dayton and went to the AFM every 18 months or so with my dad or grandfather or a friend and his dad or school or the Boy Scouts and on and on and on. Long story short, I've probably gone 100 times and absolutely loved it every time. They do such a great job of constantly bringing in new items and changing the presentation of the old favorites. I know you're going to enjoy it and I can't wait to see the footage. Take care.
Thank you so much for this video. I dearly wish I could visit England and the Bovington Tank Museum but I rather doubt that I will ever do so due to economic reasons. As an old, wore out, broken down, tired, cold war tanker of U.S. origin, I find your videos from this museum enjoyable and truly educational. Sadly, in the U.S. we tend to forget our history, unlike the U.K. Only the Patton Museum and the Ordinance Museum the former now in Georgia and the latter in Virginia along with a few private museums have managed to keep the "flame burning" so to speak and even those are not as complete as it appears the U.K. has managed. I for one hope that at some point you will return to the Bovington Tank Museum and give us a look at the "scratch and dent room" if such a thing exists. Take care and keep up the excellent work.
I enjoy these Bovington videos so much! We have our own tank museum here in Finland but Bovington is the one I really want to visit. And as I am pretty sure it is the only place in the world I can find a Churchill Black Prince, I would never need another hug from anyone for the rest of my life
Hey jingles have you ever thought of going to the aviation museum in Ottawa? They have some awesome planes there like the me 163. And if you do come to the ottawa make sure to check out the war museum.
The thing with the Crusader shown at about 2:30 in this video, most Call of Duty 2, release version for xbox 360, will know of it from the British campaign missions where they fight alongside them.
i was just watching the first 2 parts of this museum visit and thought you know what let's refresh jingles video page and see what pops up, and was quite pleasantly surprised when i saw this video.
VAE type B is in the game as tier II Chinese tank. Forgot to mention. Anyway thanks. I can't visit this place by myself so far. So it's as good as it gets :)
I must a big thx Mr.Jingles for the museum visits and the awsome footage you show :D too bad i am a biiiit far away so i could and see them in reality Keep up the good work on these museum visits and hope for mooore of these :)
Mk.1 churchill , has got the markings of 14th armoured regt.(the calgarys) B sqdn. 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade. My Grandfather was 12th armoured regt.(three rivers regt.) B sqdn. 1st CDN Armoured Brigade. Lots of stories of the training in those churchills from him. Ontarios/Calgarys/Three Rivers regts. all switched to M4A1 shermans and fought through sicily, italy, france, germany, netherlands. Got a hell of a time in Ortona,Italy. They all amassed under the British 8th for their first deployment. Im fairly sure all these veterans are deceased at this time period. I sure miss meeting those old timers.
It's not about how good the machine is. I've seen Leo 2 live and it's horribly looking machine. T-72 is the most beautiful tank design so far. Even T-90 is not as beautiful as T-72. And just FYI, newly modernized T-72s are still capable of fighting (evenly) new western tanks. Just ask Challenger, he drove one of czech T-72M4s.
Finally, someone that agrees with me. T-72 is (in my opinion) the most beautiful tank in the world. Maybe I should send it a valentine's day card next year. :P
Jingels, i really wish that you visit a few more Tank/Military museums around europe. Its just a joy seeing these mighty machines beeing shown by the mighty :D Anyways iam allready planning my visit too Bovington. Your vids make me eager to see it with my own two eyes
The Matilda, the first tank in WoT I really loved. The Cent 7/1 may be my favorite tank to drive but the Matilda has my most fond memories. That said I'd love to visit the Museum when I visit the U.K.
Ah so good watching some good old swedish tanks getting some attention thanks Jingles :) Although why didnt you mention the float screens on the STRV 103? :(
Hey Jingles, can you do a new series based on some Modern Tank prototypes that are under the process of being built? I am currently obsessed with the PL-01, a Polish "Stealth" Tank that is under partnership with the BAE.
Oh also, that Churchill Gun Carrier is one of 4 that were rescued... Scarily enough, that one is in the best condition of all 4 that were rescued. The Museum assisted in the rescue of all four vehicles, and they received the best one, the private collectors who also assisted received the other three, and are intending to use their three to rebuild one good one (likely as a static exhibit).
T-72-M was the tank that I had during my army service. That is one mean tank..I love that machice :) Autoloader like that should be in WOT and installed in T-62A or Obj 140
I have a soft spot for the lovely Matilda as well. I remember having a 10 game streak of seeing gray hit indicators, sadly I don't remember surviving any of them.
Did you know: The Charioteer tank destroyer was built by Kershaw Ltd who worked in the small, NW town of Dukenfield, Tameside in the county of Cheshire :3
Gotta love T-72s. I mean, how many other tanks in the world have such a critical flaw yet are still incredibly successful. If you don't know what that flaw is, Jingles did mention it. It has an autoloader. The Ammunition is stored around the turret ring against the hull. This leads to some quite spectacular cooks offs. T-72 takes a hit, ammo goes off. Turret decides it's better off as an airplane instead. Realizes it's to heavy to fly and lands some distance away from the burning hulk that was once a T-72. T-90s should also have this problem as well. Since the T-90 really is just a T-72 but with an upgraded electronics package, and ERA everywhere.
PATRONSKiii Are you saying that the Ammunition in a T-72 is not in fact stored around the turret? Are you saying that T-72s do not lose said turret in the event of a cookoff? Are you implying that the T-90 is not actually the T-72BU? Please good sir, elaborate.
thespartanmk1 t-72's didn't lose their turrets in iraq. The real t-72s anyway. The fake iraqi made ones did. Then again even the "real" ones weren't real.
gunnervine Wait, Iraqi made T-72s? They don't exist. I think you are thinking Iraqi 'Modified' T-72s. The Tank was still built in Soviet States and shipped to Iraq then assembled. I still was only just a T-72M but fitted with a little extra armour and a laser range finder. The overall design remained the same. There is no physical difference between the Lion of Babylon Tank, the T-72M, and other non-export T-72 models. The Ammunition is still stored around the turret ring to allow the auto-loader to feed the gun easily.
Interestingly the Cromwell you show close to the end of the video wears insignia of the Polish 1st armoured division. It probably belonged to the 10th Mounted Riffles which was division's recon regiment.
I actually really like the M3 Lee. I had some great matches in it. To bad its worse now than when i got past it, but i still have a soft spot in my heart for the old Lee.
17:08 - yay, Polish Cromwell! That marking next to 45 is so-called "squirrel" - symbol of Polish 1st Armored Division. AFAIK they mostly used Shermans, Cromwells were used in command and reconnaissance units.
jingles you are a great man giving the people who cant go there a chance to see some tanker history. may i see you in war thunder someday i would love playing against you whether i loose or win it would be fun either way specially if im on your team protect the vip lol
Hi Jingles, just wondered on your travels to museums and the numerous books you have read, have you ever come across some of the Matilda 2's tank crews who served at the Battle of Arras in 1940 and did any of them mention realising the armour superiority they held over the German tanks of the period. I know the Matilda earned the nickname Queen of the Battlefield in North Africa but was this nickname also used in Northern France?

Technically Jingles, you got the Firefly wrong again :P It's not an M4 Sherman, it's an M4A4 Sherman, a later variant, which was stretched slightly to fit the Chrysler Multibank Engine. Also, the Churchill outside the Museum is not a Mk1, it is actually a MkII which has been fitted with a mockup front gun, which is mounted in the port which was designed for a BESA Machine Gun.
Great video Jingles! Also, just to give you an idea of how powerful the 380mm rocket launcher was on the Sturmtiger, one Sturmtiger destroyed three M4 Shermans with one round during the Battle of the Bulge.
Great stuff Jingles, (best Japanese tier II accent) "you so lucky" I noted several of the tanks had tan cross's with red flowers on them. What is the significance? (I can venture guess but that usually makes my guess inaccurate) My WOT pal here in the states and I are drooling over a potential trip to Tank Fest next year.
BohemianEagle That was my thinking but I thought the docent there at the museum might have verified while you were there. We can never forget those who sacr5aficed ALL in the call for men to be free. Thanks Jingles
Yes Jingles while filming did not expect to talk that muh about some tanks, so when he was adding the commentary it was to long for short video about some tanks, so he slowed down the video at some parts so we would still see the tank he is talking about
There used to be a hidden area in the forest near me that had a whole bunch of old tanks filled with cement, this was years ago however, and I cant find them anymore :/
It's a Grant, not a Lee. As you can see, it is fitted with a much larger turret, which marks it out as a Grant. When the British first saw the Lee they pointed out that it had no room for a radio in the turret, which they required. As such, a new turret was designed for the Lees sent to Britain which could fit the standard No. 19 Radio
Jingles, if you like war stories, try out the WW2 series by Eldridge J. Depth charge danger, deadly skies, behind enemy lines, Island of fear and my favourite, Tank attack. trust me, they are really good books, small and historic.
Interestingly, that KV-1 was sent to the UK by the Soviet Union so the western allies could go over the capabilities of the tank. It was actually modified from the regular vehicles to have more crew comforts than the typical soviet tank, but the testing team still noted that the crew conditions inside were very poor.
Jingles, I noticed in the video, that some of the tanks appeared to have a 'Cross' of some kind. Were these to commemorate known souls lost in battle with the associated chassis?
Swedish diesel armor, both stupid and brilliant.
Sweden makes all the best shit. Strv 103, CV90 and Carl Gustav are all boss mode. And the Bofors 40mm, of course.
skylord210 I dont do wot videos, but here is a replay wotreplays.com/site/674206#self
***** Robbert looking at tanks? God Jingles. You've given him ideas. YOU'VE GIVEN HIM IDEA'S.
Thomas rolles Robbaz thinks the Ratte wasn't ambitious enough.
Robbaz :D
Cromwell modified into a TD... God jingles.... i really want one now!

Emils Liepins it would be really awesome since i got cromwell

My grandad fought in both the Churchill and Cromwell tanks.
Excellent stuff Jingles! Thanks for sharing all that.
In WoT, i drove the B1, and what really pissed me off was i didnt get to use that huge gun in its hull.
Spectacular. Many thanks.
excellent, many thanks for taking the trouble to share this with other interested persons....aka...me.
thank you.
I do believe that most of us really dont care if on occasion you get a tank description wrong. Just keep up the good work and Thank You
Thanks jingles makes sunday a whole lot better
I truly hope Fort Benning's tank museum becomes as amazing as Bovington's has become. Would definitely give me something to go see in this state.
Hey jingles have you ever thought of going to the aviation museum in Ottawa? They have some awesome planes there like the me 163. And if you do come to the ottawa make sure to check out the war museum.
I would love to see you come visit some swedish war-museums. the swedish army/navy/air force have had some...interesting designs through the years :)
lol i seen these tanks in person at bovington last year but still is fun to see this!
The thing with the Crusader shown at about 2:30 in this video, most Call of Duty 2, release version for xbox 360, will know of it from the British campaign missions where they fight alongside them.

i hey jingles I am heading to England in April and I will be heading to this museum because of these videos. Hope it's as fun as it looks
:D Churchill Gun Carrier, the hidden gem and, my favorite British Tank Destroyer, ever.
Jingles, you really should travel to Finland and check out the Parola tank museum. There is a wide variety of Soviet and German tanks.
More of that please mighty Jingles!
wow, so many of my most enjoyable tanks made it into this video. All its missing is the cruiser mk.IV.
oh nice timing!
T-72, u so beautiful. I love you, my darling.
It's not about how good the machine is. I've seen Leo 2 live and it's horribly looking machine. T-72 is the most beautiful tank design so far. Even T-90 is not as beautiful as T-72. I wonder how large the KV-2's 152mm howitzer looks compared to those other guns...
There you are again... Scary.
Lovely horsy So which one of us is following the other around, eh? =P
Glad you included the Swedish tanks aswell!
Excellent as always :-)
the day they add the firefly to world of tanks, is the day I can die happy

Armor test on the Swedish S tank.
Vapenverkan mot Stridsvagn 103 / Live fire trials against the S-tank
I have a soft spot for the lovely Matilda as well. I remember having a 10 game streak of seeing gray hit indicators, sadly I don't remember surviving any of them.
would love to see the centurion restored and put indoors, amazing tank

Thx, this is very interessting
still a better love story then twilight

Take a look at the whippet tank, it's amazing
If there was still a VK 36.01 around, I'd visit her every year as well.
Commissar! Someone left a perfectly working Centurion tank in the rain!
Planning on visiting the museum in Germany that has a SturmTiger in the near future! Nice vid! :)
17:08 - yay, Polish Cromwell! That marking next to 45 is so-called "squirrel" - symbol of Polish 1st Armored Division. AFAIK they mostly used Shermans, Cromwells were used in command and reconnaissance units.
All the Matilda Hugs!!!
I wana hug that matilda
jingles you are a great man giving the people who cant go there a chance to see some tanker history. may i see you in war thunder someday i would love playing against you whether i loose or win it would be fun either way specially if im on your team protect the vip lol
Those "Russian tanks" on open ground at 0:59, are Chinese Type 69 (headlights mounted on fenders and smoke discharges are give away).
We need more videos like this...
Pls lets donate money so Mr. J can visit Kubinka and make videos like this even there.
Poor Tanks outside the museum D: Someone must save them!!! ...but nice video
I would marry that Centurion and restore it myself!! If it was possible...
You are a good guy :D I wish everyone in the world was like you...
Finn Vorberger So I been told, but still would restore that tank to mint running condition!!
Jingles, have you ever been to museums in the Ardennes like Diekirch and Bastogne, or the Dutch tankmuseum at Overloon? If not, is it likely that you will visit them in near future and make a video about them?
You should narrate golf matches
I really hope they add the contentious as a premium. Like a british e25 at tier 8 perhaps
I am sorry to tell the Bovington Tank Museum, but as of now the Stug at 4:19 belongs to my daughter, it is her name on it... :D
I was wondering what to do, then this popped out :)
Oh thanks I just realized it was the second forgot about the conservation hall video. Thank you though
Great video Jingles! Also, just to give you an idea of how powerful the 380mm rocket launcher was on the Sturmtiger, one Sturmtiger destroyed three M4 Shermans with one round during the Battle of the Bulge.
PATRONSKiii achtungpanzer.com It's a website that specializes on information and data on tanks.
Messing around we make them better.
Great stuff Jingles, (best Japanese tier II accent) "you so lucky"
I noted several of the tanks had tan cross's with red flowers on them. What is the significance? (I can venture guess but that usually makes my guess inaccurate)
My WOT pal here in the states and I are drooling over a potential trip to Tank Fest next year.
I think they're to remember the crew who died in them.
BohemianEagle
That was my thinking but I thought the docent there at the museum might have verified while you were there.
We can never forget those who sacr5aficed ALL in the call for men to be free.
Thanks Jingles
is it just me or the video is in slow-mo?
The video is slow. :D
Yes
Jingles while filming did not expect to talk that muh about some tanks, so when he was adding the commentary it was to long for short video about some tanks, so he slowed down the video at some parts so we would still see the tank he is talking about
Not for you alone..
he probably had to slow mo it so he can keep pace with his dialog
There used to be a hidden area in the forest near me that had a whole bunch of old tanks filled with cement, this was years ago however, and I cant find them anymore :/
That makes me sad:(
when I was a kid my uncle took me there, and I could have sworn I remembered where it was, but yeah, maybe they moved them or something
Love how they just "meeh" at the lee xD
Too be fair, that Lee at the end had a killer paint job. Credit where credit's due
19 Radio
You're right. That changes everything. What a shit paint job that Grant has.
the money shot for me was that T-72. DAT TANK!
Jingles, if you like war stories, try out the WW2 series by Eldridge J.
Depth charge danger, deadly skies, behind enemy lines, Island of fear and my favourite, Tank attack.
trust me, they are really good books, small and historic.
Jingles, the last tank is an M3 Grant the British version built by the US.
Similar to the M3 Lee the US Army version
I was there today ITS A GREAT MUSEUM.
jingles the vae type b is in world of tanks
it even has an auto loader
see what you think of it
Interestingly, that KV-1 was sent to the UK by the Soviet Union so the western allies could go over the capabilities of the tank. Jingles, I noticed in the video, that some of the tanks appeared to have a 'Cross' of some kind. Were these to commemorate known souls lost in battle with the associated chassis?
i could live in this museum :P
Dat Cromwell tho is the love of my life!
