I know I may be late on this.....but is there a specific reason you feed them raw uncooked food? What are the benefits of disadvantages of cooking the food, if any?

Most the time when you cook the food the food loses a lot of nutrients

Heating the food destroys nutrients and changes the nutritional content of the food. It also destroys the enzymes and good bacteria in them as well.
Animals' bodies are designed to process all their food raw. Have you ever seen an animal cook their food? By changing the overall makeup of the food the dog's organs gets strained to digest it because it's not meant to digest cooked food.
There is less moisture, the nutrition is different, so the liver and kidneys get overworked. And because of the lack of enzymes and bacteria the pancreas gets overworked. The stress on the organs will accumulate, and in the future will cause more issues and diseases than a dog fed raw.
The more it gets cooked, the worse it gets. The biggest reason why kibble (dry food) is so bad is - besides all the other thousands of reasons why - that it is extremely low in moisture. It wreaks havoc on the whole body.
A good analogy is like trying to process meat in a toy factory. It's possible, but it's not gonna be as precise and effective as you would in a meat processing factory.
On top of that, now that you have altered the nutritional content of the foods by the heating process, you need to calculate all of the nutrients. You'll need a VERY good knowledge in dog nutrition to get it correct. Unless you are a dog nutritionist, majority of people do not have the proper knowledge or experience to do cooked food for dogs correctly.
Raw feeding on the other hand is extremely simple because you give the food unaltered. All the stuff the dog needs to keep healthy is there. All you need to do is to follow the BARF guideline. That's it. Even an idiot can do raw feeding because it doesn't require the person to do any nutritional calculations.
      Another little nit pick:
If you're not a dog nutritionist then if you want to feed your dog cooked meals, then you have to search online for proper menus. But you will instantly find out that there are like millions of different recipes to choose from, and most of them do not tell you if it is completely balanced or not. Shockingly, most of those menus contain too much plant-based foods, and many contain foods that are not good for dogs. The average Joe will not be able to tell which menu is good and which menu is bad.
On top of that, many dog nutritionists have been taught outdated information, so just because the person who made that menu is certified, it doesn't always mean that they have the right information.
Raw feeding recipes on the other hand are all extremely similar, with VERY few differences between them. This is because raw feeding is a relatively new style of feeding dogs so the information that it is based on is more up to date. And as mentioned above, extremely simple.
So if you are a person who has zero knowledge on dog nutrition trying to find a recipe to feed your dog, then you have a much Much MUCH better chance of getting a correct recipe for raw feeding than you would for cooked meals.
Most sites and articles that have raw feeding recipes also have information about how to do raw feeding correctly, whereas cooked meals will not have that information since it's waaaay too complex to explain it.
