@@AllAhabNoMobyno. Cane corso and mastino types come from the same original land race dog. They are 2 separate types. There are 2 cane corso types. Traditional and non traditional.
Also no cane corso is pure bred. And neapolitan mastiff arent either and modern show types are ruined and far removed from the original dogs and bred for recessive problematic health characteristics. There is also the sicilian and calabrian strains and the dogo sardo.

We've got one that's little over a year and he's 1 of the best dogs I've ever had and I'm 55 so I've had a couple. Very smart. Learns fast and in general we'll behaved. Sometimes gets a little hard headed when he wants to hit the woods instead of the pen in the morn. Lives inside but spends 6 or 7 hours a day outside with his girlfriend a pit. She's around 6 and I believe she's a big part of how he learned things so quick having another dog to learn from

You should really do some significant research into all the different types that occur in Corso as a result of breeding for one particular specific type as well as other breeds being introduced and alerting the breed as we know it aside from a very select few breeders who try very hard to maintain the integrity of the breed! The breed had to be brought back from almost extinction so they had to remake it Corso and neo used to be pretty much the same breed then they started to breed neos to be more wrinkled. People who breed them dont want to admit that but most show line types are neo with boxer and the more robust ones are neo and rott I had a rott neo style he was 140lbs blue brindle, the boxer ones have an undershot bite and are only about 110-120lbs both great dogs. The sottili line are the rott neo crosses. He admitted this in an interview. I personally like his line more than the boxer. I’m sure this will cause controversy.

A few comments here are suggesting the mixed heritage dogs are "not pure bred"
I get the line of thinking, but not exactly accurate. They're all mixed heritage.
The breed standard is not that old, rather, it is quite new. Having other breeds in the dogs genetic makeup is absolutely unavoidable.
The dogs of yesteryear were bred to do a job. Farmers would choose from different dogs that were available with the traits they wanted.
The breed, as we know it, isn't ancient.
It absolutely has a lineage going back to Roman dogs of war, sure. But the rottweiler does too. They both have diverged over the last few hundred years into different breeds.
The adding of different breeds may have happened hundreds of years ago, but most certainly happened in Italy aswell as the rest of the world.
:) I hope this sort of clarifies how this works.
Purebred status dates back to the founding of the breed standard

This is factually untrue. There was a study done in 2017 comparing the DNA of American Corso and Italian corso and they found that the American dogs were so significantly different that they could not be considered the same breed. The American dogs were basically a bandogge made of Rottweilers and Neapolitan mastiffs and other breeds. The Americans use marketing terms like traditional to try to make excuses for why their dogs don't look like the dogs being bred in Europe. The ONLY place these "traditional" dogs exist is in America. It's American arrogance, and it's embarrassing for those of us who are actually trying to preserve this historic breed.

Cane Corso was a recovered breed like all modern breeds they are crossed using various breeds in the 80s. they are descendant of roman war dog twhich is cane de presa or old neo mastiff. great Dane and boxer is used in cane Corso that's a fact, so are pitbulls am staffs and Rottweilers are also used to recover the breed. purebred dogs are just selective bred dogs they don't exist is nature they are a result of generations of selective and cross breeding various dogs until a certain desired characteristic is achieved, but many modern breed standards change over the years and newer bloodlines or breeds are simetimes crossed into it and they try to hide it.

This is a good video. The concept of Traditional cane corso doesn’t just mean old “bloodline (most American corsos never had real bloodline).

It's all in the coat according to akc standards. You can tell temperament and life span by the coat. You can tell when it's not pure it's obvious it has a different breed in it. I have a pure bred formentino female she's beautiful

Considering a "blue" coloring in ALL dog breeds is actually a skin defect. No.
Most are prone to dry skin, skin cancer or a weak coat at very least.
      It's called color-dilution alopecia.

If it’s mixed with other breeds and has more than one different feature, how can it retain the original name?
