Talk to me was propably the best horror i saw in years, it made you actually look at this dangerous game as really fun because of how much fun everyone had during it. Acting was actually really good, and it was propably the first movie i saw that took the place in recent years where everyone got phones and record everything etc. without using some cringe words that were popular when they started making the movie and have been forgotten by the time of its release. The Montage scene during a party was amazing. If only more horrors had this quality.
Yeah, i went into this fresh aside from hearing it was good and something about a hand and i was so surprised by this take that it was used as a party drug basically. It was such an interesting direction to take it. Really engaging stuff. Will definitely keep an eye on these guys.
Charles perfectly describes how horror movies are supposed to be directed. Thriller and horror flicks are very closely-related because they do the same thing - build tension. The difference is in how the genres deliver that tension.
This is really exciting, it feels like we might finally enter an era of good UA-cam movies, especially with Markiplier's upcoming Iron Lung film and Kane Pixel's upcoming Backrooms film (also working with A24!) in the works. Super excited!
@kaof-1958 John Wick 4, The Covenant, Spiderman: ASTV, Sound of Freedom. Oppenheimer solos all of those but still, there were many good movies this year
RackaRackas’ videos always had this hypnotizing chaotic momentum, all of these years later I still return to the street fighter video they did because it’s just great physical comedy and I love their use of wires, I’m really glad to see that they were able to successfully translate their talent to another medium.
This makes me think that Alex Kister making a Mandela Catalogue movie could actually be really good given the time and resources. Dude has been doing very well on the series.
Congrats to Danny and Michael. They deserve all the success that's coming out of this project. The fact that they applied all the skills they learned in video production to make one of the best movies of the year goes to show they are talented filmmakers.
Shoutout to the kid that played Riley aswell, he was really likeable and made the rest of the story play out really well. You care a lot more about gore when it’s used effectively on a character you are attached to.
Saw it last night and I was just so happy. It's a genuinely good and unique horror movie. The decent into madness the main character goes through and the sudden escalation of violence/ consequences is just **chef's kiss**.
I found one plot point of the Fred movie funny: when he goes around telling people he's having a party and they *aren't* invited. That was pretty funny.

I saw this yesterday after seeing a snippet of this video and decided to go in blind. While Charlie has points of critique to this movie, I cannot praise it enough. Mainly cause it’s a directorial debut in a pretty saturated genre. Which doesn’t mean in any way I don’t appreciate Charlie’s view on the movie. On many points he was bang on. Without spoiling the plot, my take on this movie was that it referenced a lot of themes from our society today. Substance abuse, addiction, being socially exiled, depression, broken families, … all the while being presented as a well put together horror movie that doesn’t rely on cheap jump scares, but basically had me on the edge of my seat, spine tingling, start to finish. While the cast was extremely good, extra praise has to be given to the lead girl and the young bro. I did not know their names or if they have any previous well received roles, but they knocked the ball into the stratosphere. Also, THIS is how you present a diverse cast in a movie, without making us wanting to gauge our eyes out.
I love horror movies, good and bad I usually go see anything spooky related twice or more but Talk to Me actually got me and I think it’s going to be a one and done for me. It wasn’t making me scream the whole time but it hurt me deep down out of sympathy and existentially.
There’s still so much movie ideas. Skinwalkers, slender man, getting in someone’s dreams and facing nightmares, urban legend movies, I hope these small creators can make these movies possible
watched it here during premiere night, it did not disappoint it respected the audience so much, they left us enough breadcrumbs to make us think how things got to where they are, i wish i could erase my memory of seeing it the first time so i could experience this film again :3
Honestly one of the most surprising directorial debuts I've ever seen, especially for a horror movie. Being disappointed with a majority of horror releases lately, this is one such a breath air. The ending was phenomenal too. This might be in my top 3 movies of this year, I can't wait to see what they do next.
The movie, in my opinion, is amazing. I got stressed out watching it and the way the movie builds tension and suspence without ever realy letting it drop to give you a break is amazing
I started following their film after seeing the first trailer and the video of their Sundance premiere. I’m happy that they were able to make the film they wanted without studio execs breathing on their shoulders. Danny, Michael, Sophia, and the entire cast did fantastic things with this story. A24’s horror lineup may not have been as good compared to a couple years back, but they acquired (not produced) another banger for their filmography. 😌
To be fair, a small channel called "ponysmasher" started posting short horror vids, ended up making Annabelle and Shazam 1 & 2. He still posts vids on youtube, behind the scenes, short movies, and what's it like to direct major movies after only posting on youtube.
RackaRacka has always made peak videos with great cinematography and effects, so I was ecstatic when I heard that they made a movie. Hopefully, this is a start of great success for RackaRacka❤
Genuinely so proud of RackaRacka. I really went from watching them since I was 14 from their Marvel vs DC vid and Ronald McDonald skits to now about to watch their first full-length horror picture. Michael and Danny deserve the best
I just watched this movie. What I love the most about it is that they touched on 'the devil made me do it' trope without actually saying it, unlike a certain movie. I realized what happened almost by the end of the movie, and I like it.
Honestly, it’s Rackracka. What’d you expect, they made some absolute bangers in the early days and still do. They brought a new level of skit to UA-cam starting in 2013 and have always been super entertaining. I love seeing them succeed with an actual movie
I'm a horror fan. I've seen the trailer a couple times and each time I thought "that actually doesn't look terrible" almost every other horror movie/trailer looks awful and it has been that way for many years. Can't wait to check this one out.
They have this rock and roll energy and childlike expression of their art that’s non stop and reached public success they are also very professional as well
that's crazy, I met these guys years ago in Australia when nobody knew who they were, I remember seeing their Ronald clown video being made at our local plaza and on our news before people knew it was a stunt - my brother and I are even in the background confused asf lol, they were amazing actors and your regular aussies making the best of it; crazy how far they've come.
I hope every single person listed in the credits for this movie watches this video. Especially the lead, imagine how good it would feel to be that girl listening to what Charlie has to say
Been a fan of RackaRacka since 2016. Talk to Me is a surprisingly well-made horror film about a evil severed hand and I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel Talk 2 Me. Give these guys a Best Director Oscar. Right now.
Saw it last Sunday, the movie was awesome with alot of great performances. Very proud of these guys and I fully push people to watch it. They made it on a 4.5 million dollar budget and it's already made close to 30 million in the box office.
Don't forget a group of innovative filmmakers from UA-cam that did neat shorts years ago. They renamed rhemselves "Radio Silence." Then got big, made some great indie horror (V/H/S, Southbound, ect.) & now do huge films such as the last two Scream movies. Another talented exception that got their start on YT.
Nahh the toe demon had me looking away from the screen. I love when a movie has something so hard to look at that I don’t want it to get into my subconscious and possibly see it in a dream 😂
This makes me very happy. I expected nothing given how rackaracka is literally known for real stunts in fight scenes and nothing else, implying to me that a horror movie may just be gore. I also thought that this release date alongside Barbie and Oppenheimer may obliterate this movie but thinking more, neither of those movies really capture the horror audience and given so many people are watching those in theatres, they'd see the advertising of talk to me and potentially come back the next week or whatever.
It’s interesting to see how far they’ve come from making crazy videos at the time to know able to make a Hollywood movie that’s getting great reception and is getting a squeal
the toe scene i feel was ment to be silly for us the viewer but if you actually place yourself in the event it would be a totally fucked scenario. the supporting cast even questioned it when the ex bf brought it up to the group, they kinda all just laughed and said "dude thats cooked wtf" or something to that effect
It was good until like the end, it was very weird and confusing would’ve made sense to destroy the hand or enter the void of some kind to rescue the brother. So, it was weird
I went to see Talk To Me this past Tuesday, I thought the characters while a little corny had good development and the lead up to the last scene in the movie honestly made it good enough for me. The conveyance of an idea from start to end was truly immaculate.
I literally just got done watching this film and goddamn. This and "Late Night With the Devil" have been some of the best horror movies I've seen in a while. Props to everyone who worked on it and can't wait to see more GOOD horror like this!

I genuinely did want to hear a good thing about this movie that I could agree with but I think all the writing or the characters sucked except for the best friend and the main character was annoying as hell cause of all the dumb things she did and she never received a real punishment for it. I thought it was about addiction but now that you bring up the point of grief it actually makes a lot more sense to me. So you were right but you were also wrong: someone giving the movie correct praise can actually make me rethink my opinion on it
I saw this movie last week and was genuinely impressed at a good horror movie that didn’t rely too much on jump scares to be scary. I’m even more impressed youtubers made it tbh
Went into it blind and it was a perfect combination of goofiness, drama, and horror. Had no idea it was directed by UA-camrs! Amazing work

Where can I watch the movie fellas ??
For once a youtuber made a movie because they had an actual passion for movies instead of just trying to bank in on their own fame

Dude has been doing very well on the series.
dude i know right? the youtube series alone gives me the major creeps

Shoutout to the kid that played Riley aswell, he was really likeable and made the rest of the story play out really well. You care a lot more about gore when it’s used effectively on a character you are attached to.
so true
Definitely! So many horror movie characters are unlikable that it was refreshing to actually care about what happens to them for a change 😅
@@willows6114watching the movie I remember just clenching my eyes closed from his scenes, man were they brutal 😂
Went to see it as soon as I could. Best horror I've seen in years and I'm super happy for Danny and Michael as a sequel is confirmed.
Also the fact John Cena is canonically his dad
the Loser song is so good ngl
Can’t wait to see it. It’s so rare to find a good horror movie. Super excited to see what Markipliers will look like as well.
Edit: saw the movie, it was really good.
What's it gonna be called weekend at Freddy's
Well, it's not good, and definitely not scary.

and yeah the toe-sucking thing was fucking hilarious. i kinda interpreted it as an intentionally scary _and_ goofy scene - like, it would be terrifying in real life, but it’s still kinda funny to watch in fiction (esp when we see what’s really going on - iykyk) cos, y’know, it’s toe-sucking. it’s never not funny
i found myself laughing at most of the exorcism scenes, some of the demons were hilarious.

So proud of these guys, they grew up not too far from me. Watching their come-up has been insane.
This movie had me uncomfortable the whole way through. Hats off to these blokes. Scariest movie I’ve seen since hereditary
ok
No hope left
I made that exact same comment to my boyfriend! Best horror of the last five years except Hereditary.
If any UA-camr could achieve this, it'd be them. It's good to hear there's finally something new worth watching for horror fans.
Theres alot of good short horror productions out there on you tube atm . Great to see .
Absolutely agree with this whole take!! 10/10 movie. Acting, special effects, creep factor not relying on jump scares, and amazing story all around.

No way the guys behind the banned mcdonalds ads made the greatest youtuber movie of all time. We're truly living in a simulation.
I love horror movies, good and bad I usually go see anything spooky related twice or more but Talk to Me actually got me and I think it’s going to be a one and done for me. It wasn’t making me scream the whole time but it hurt me deep down out of sympathy and existentially.
The sound design in this movie was crazy good too, I'm really glad I got to see it in a theater
How could you forget to mention such cinematic masterpieces such as "Smosh: The Movie" or "Ghostmates"???
He was talking about the bad ones. There are a few good ones, but that wasn’t the point.
Racka has already proven that they are great at creating dark, horrific and crazy entertaining stories in all their normal videos lol.
There’s still so much movie ideas. Skinwalkers, slender man, getting in someone’s dreams and facing nightmares, urban legend movies, I hope these small creators can make these movies possible
watched it here during premiere night, it did not disappoint
it respected the audience so much,
they left us enough breadcrumbs to make us think how things got to where they are,
i wish i could erase my memory of seeing it the first time so i could experience this film again :3
IM so glad he mentioned this movie, it’s actually incredible and it deserves more hype !!!
Also tbh he’s never made anything as good as Talk to Me
RackaRacka has always made peak videos with great cinematography and effects, so I was ecstatic when I heard that they made a movie.

I saw this movie at its premier at sundance film festival, so cool to see it getting recognition at its full release.
that's crazy, I met these guys years ago in Australia when nobody knew who they were, I remember seeing their Ronald clown video being made at our local plaza and on our news before people knew it was a stunt - my brother and I are even in the background confused asf lol, they were amazing actors and your regular aussies making the best of it; crazy how far they've come.
Love to see it, I really enjoyed the film. I was very impressed by the acting. Hope this gets them more projects down the road
I hope every single person listed in the credits for this movie watches this video. Especially the lead, imagine how good it would feel to be that girl listening to what Charlie has to say

The whole theater erupted in laughter during the toe scene as well. This film genuinely surprised me from start to finish.
the toe scene i feel was ment to be silly for us the viewer but if you actually place yourself in the event it would be a totally fucked scenario. the supporting cast even questioned it when the ex bf brought it up to the group, they kinda all just laughed and said "dude thats cooked wtf" or something to that effect
It was good until like the end, it was very weird and confusing would’ve made sense to destroy the hand or enter the void of some kind to rescue the brother. So, it was weird
Ima be real, when Charlie likes a movie/tv series I always check it out, and so far everything has being true quality stories and I am here for that

I went to see Talk To Me this past Tuesday, I thought the characters while a little corny had good development and the lead up to the last scene in the movie honestly made it good enough for me. The conveyance of an idea from start to end was truly immaculate.
