The Synergy sounds better than the Satan. This stuff is analysis paralysis; the paradox of choice ensures a never ending money pit. A good sounding pit though!
Me too interested. Love my E2 pedal btw the cheapest harware solution to approximate those glorious tones, yet with a specific flavor of JFET transistors
That is seriously one of the best non-boosted tones I’ve ever heard. Sick AF, no tube screamer required. Running that module through the Satan power section into that Recto Cab is just brutal, it’s a beautiful thing. Thanks Ola!!
Let's not gloss over the fact that you can add an extra channel to your amp this way. My mind is fucking blown. Now I have a reason to buy these modules
A WORLD WITHOUT OLA IS A WORLD I DONT WANT TO LIVE IN 😜😜😜😜🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯you've got the best show bruther...the only other guy I learn from as far as technical advice is Kristian Koehler Koehler studio out of Germany....the both of you offer priceless advise to guys like me that are somewhat new to the guitar world and I've been completely re-born again as a creative person thanks to guys like you OLA 🤟
one thing i just noticed while listening... of course the synergy module sounds amazing and so does the playing... but the guitar is always perfectly in tune, which isn't always the case with youtube guitar videos, i've watched so many where there were intonation problems and notes were a bit off tune here and there, but it seems like the Evertune bridge completely eliminates that problem, basically forever... nice
Ola, it seemed like yesterday that you celebrated having 300.000 subscribers. Time seems to go fast, as you're getting closer and closer to 500.000 subs.. Incredible job. Cheers!
What's up OLA.......as I and so many of us guitar players know, there seems to be no end to the G.A.S. for new gear. But,......the Synergy stuff has to be the most tempting of all the new tube amp related gear I have seen in a long long time. It's just EVERYTHING in tone junky's dream rig! Thx bro
I’m finally thinking of taking the plunge into the synergy rabbit hole 😂 I also have the same guitar but mine is the 27” baritone and can’t tell if yours is too. My favorite guitar by far especially after swapping the bridge pickup and getting rid of the tone knob with that horrible cap on it.
Ola on the clean.... Wants so badly to break into Opeth.... Its Ok Ola. Just close your eyes and let it happen.... Just let it happen..... We will all be better for it. 😌 So many good tones in this video. Great playing my friend!
I've been waiting for you to show us more Synergy gear. I just have a SYN 1 Running into an Orange Pedal Baby and a Harley Benton 2x12 with v30s. I've got the HBE. SLO, and ENGL Savage Modules right now. Really enjoying SYNERGY Amps!
Sick sound from the Engl "PowerBall", I would expect as much from them my: "Ball Sack Bro!!" I'm playing catch-up this week, was a little under the weather last week. Had to "coraline in place" - much better now! (My Sister is a nurse, so I trust what she says.) I've been wanting to use the "Ball-Sack" part ever since I got my T-shirt! Love your channel! Keep Chugging, & keepin it real!! V⚡
7:45 Ola once again makes the amps sound the same. Powerball sounds tiny bit tighter and more dynamic but otherwise pretty much indistinguishable tone.
The Sag and the Volume knobs on the Syn-1 don’t do anything when plugged into the amp, if you plugged into a preamp like the KSR or SD PowerStage, then they would work like there supposed to!
The engl preamp is four stages only so, it can be done with two tubes (each 12ax7 two stages inside) close to the original. Other preamps with more use solid state to drive the bass mid treble etc section. The 5153 lbx does this as well. The synergy stuff is cool but kind of overpriced. If you want what ola did, a dual output pedal with isolation transformer (thomann has for like less than 50 euros) can give two outputs without hum, one to the amp the other to the preamp of your choice. A pod, a mesa studio, an AMT pedal etc. You feed them simultaneously. Then you take the effects out of the amp and the send of the external and footswitch them with an a/b pedal before the serial loop return. Instant synergy it's not magic it's engineering for less than 50 with some cables thrown in.
Ola, thanks for always providing a steady stream of awesome content! Your channel is one of the few that I regularly keep up with. I understand that you get some ad revenue from the ads that play before your videos. Does one need to let the whole thing play for you to get your share or can you get a partial amount if I skip an ad halfway? ANYWAAAYS, stay happy and healthy! Best wish to you and your family! PS - Your newer segment where you revisit old gear is everything that my 12 year-old guitar beginner self ever wanted. THANK YOU!
All these Synergy preamps are brilliant but... there are differences in sound/tone depending on if you run them into the synergy powered heads or into the Synergy power amp or your own amp. Be aware of this before you buy one or more. You may find your best personalized tone by testing all 3 of these setups. Ola you are awesome dude. Cheers from Downunder.🤘🎸
This sounds more thug thug than your other video on ENGL Power ball pedal. I might try my metal pedal board which uses cool cat metal II pedal, a couple of delays all going to a Black Box Reloaded ENGL Power ball amp simulation. So I need to know what sound I am trying to make.
Hej Ola. Nicely done Demo and sounds. Kinda Mesa'ish scooped EQ sound very similar. Keep up doing more videos they cheer up nowadays. "Och hälsningar från Finland hoppas ni alla mår bra där!!" Cheers!! p.s You got me interested in Sonar guitars ;)
Question OLA: On Instagram I've seen a Solar guitar picture where you see a different Evertune logo on the bridge? I'm wondering if this is a new Evertune logo that will be on all Evertune bridge from now on. I'm liking this a lot compared to their current big ugly ass logo.
08:26 proof that switching preamps alone doesn't make a big difference in the overall sound :) Ola made them sound very similar without knowing. p.s : they both sound crushing
Its cool but idk if its 900usd cool. I've been wanting a pball lunchbox head for some time, the dock is very expensive if you intend on replacing the included module from the get go. Dock is 500, module is 400, so it would seem that an empty dock is 100 right? Hopefully they sell it like that or do a package deal for the dock and module you want, I only checked a few places tho. I want a bedroom volume engl, but I'm not willing to pay used engl head prices to get there haha
Hi Ola. What are your opinions on The Great Southern Trendkill? For me personally it's Pantera's masterpiece and has such a dark and haunting vibe to it. However, it surprised me to find out that it's considered to be the black sheep of the Pantera discography with members of the band themselves, including Vinnie Paul stating that they don't like the album. Even when I saw them live on the Reinventing The Steel tour, they didn't play a single song from Trendkill. Do you agree with Pantera or are you a fan of the album? Cheers, from Scotland.
Ola... do you think you could show us a diagram how you have it all hooked up in this video for some of us that cant see how it is all connected.... great sound btw !!!! nevermind I looked it up... pretty interesting unit !!!
Hi Ola, love your containt !!! Can you try for the next "rig of the week" to pan both of your mic ? I mean for example the sm58 on the right and the beyerdynamic on the left, just to hear what happen 😄 Cheer, keep rocking! 🤘
What's up Ola? Greetings from the Philippines! I love your videos! It would be nice to see a review of the Mooer GE150 as I'm looking to buy one and would like to know your thoughts about it. Thanks and more heavy power, Ola!
You should do the next rig of the week with a kiesel! was kinda cool watching you try different brands of guitar! (dont get me wrong, i love your brand)
Are you utilizing some sort of Noise Gate? I would expect there to be a ton of noise when you switch to the high gain channels. Or, is the synergy system doing something to eliminate the typical hiss and feedback from a tube amp at that level of high gain?
The Synergy sounds better than the Satan. This stuff is analysis paralysis; the paradox of choice ensures a never ending money pit. A good sounding pit though!
I’d love to see a comparison between a real Engl Powerball, the Synergy Engl module, and the AMT E2 preamp pedal... That would be really cool. 🤘🏻
Yeah, a direct comparison would be cool.
Yeah that AM2 pedal sounds really cool in the older ola demos
Me too interested. Love my E2 pedal btw
the cheapest harware solution to approximate those glorious tones, yet with a specific flavor of JFET transistors
Definitely interested in an ENGL shootout. Throw in the plugins too!
That is seriously one of the best non-boosted tones I’ve ever heard. Sick AF, no tube screamer required. Running that module through the Satan power section into that Recto Cab is just brutal, it’s a beautiful thing. Thanks Ola!!
It's not everyday that you hear an amp that sounds good without an od.
Engl amps sound like other amps with a TS in front, kinda :)
@@DustinAlford check out the Laboga Mr. Hector, sounds amazing even without a boost.
@@OsvaldoHurtado02 Will do man. Thanks!👍
Rig of the week! With a stay at home order , Rig of the week is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for all you do Ola!
I swear Ola...Your Tones you get ....My GOD....just Smoking...thick as balls...punches you in the face...Love it...
his knowledge of properly mic'ing and recording guitar plays a vital role
Lol has thicc balls himself to create such tones
The UBERSHALL module seems to be an absolute beast.
Own it and yes it is an absolute beast.
I got the Synergy 50 watt head with a Engl Savage module, a Friedman HBD4 & a Diesel VH4. One bad ass unit here.
RIG OF THE WEEK! New Engl Powerball Synergy module...
Hello Ola , please make a video with the fender champion 20
I’d love to see a comparison between a real Engl Powerball, the Synergy Engl module, and the AMT E2 preamp pedal... That would be really cool. 🤘🏻
Nice sag bro 👍
Mercuriall Euphoria, come on Ola, wanna see you tackle this awesome new plugin =)
Ola , that sounds soooo good , such a thick distortion, but still lots of clarity. Dare I say it , sounded even better than the Satan
Yeah, Testament!
I went back and listened to that part a few times. DNR is a bad ass song.
i think that's the first time i've ever heard him play testament. i also went back to listen to it again because i'm all like, hell yea!!!
That footswitch non-magic signal chain is fantastic.
This one is awesome. Both the clean and distortion channels are great
Let's not gloss over the fact that you can add an extra channel to your amp this way. My mind is fucking blown. Now I have a reason to buy these modules
TWO channels man - doubly cool!
Great rig , After just practicing for an hour on my rig, That module preamp is another level . Thanks for the demo. Yeah baby to the solar a1.6
Do these come ready to play ??...do i have to order the input casing ...i'm confused
Hey Ola this was awesome!🤘 Great tones and super guitar playing 🤘
I am very interested in the Syn 1. It has big PP energy
Massive pp
I'm calling the police
I bought a Victor Smolski Englamp, this is a real Metalamp. Love him.
First time Ive seen a Powerball demo that actually sounds like a Powerball.
Thanks Ola! Just finished playing along with some Feared music, good thing you are keeping us busy during coffee breaks.

That tone!!! Love Engl
Been using a tweeked version of your secret sauce on the neural nts liking it hope you and your family are well with all this going on
That Synergy unit is the coolest piece of gear I've seen in years.
The tech is pretty damn cool. 😎
Ola, it seemed like yesterday that you celebrated having 300.000 subscribers. Time seems to go fast, as you're getting closer and closer to 500.000 subs.. Incredible job. Cheers!
Super dope rig. Best metal sound since you did the Axe review. Massive tone
"...because the chugs get way more awesomer." Ola couldn't be more awesomer.
Really refreshing riffs in this video, i love it

I actually really like your clean playing Ola even if it is just a 10 second tone check then straight to chug. Synergy modules sound quite impressive!
I love the way how it sounds!
At about the 7:00 mark:
DO NOT RESUSCITATE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I’m finally thinking of taking the plunge into the synergy rabbit hole 😂 I also have the same guitar but mine is the 27” baritone and can’t tell if yours is too. My favorite guitar by far especially after swapping the bridge pickup and getting rid of the tone knob with that horrible cap on it.

Ur idea on using the pedal baby is really smart!!

Quarantine that is! My stupidity is showing!!
Sorry......
Shut up bitch
Plugin version? I tried those Neural DSP plugins and was impressed!
7:45 Ola once again makes the amps sound the same. Powerball sounds tiny bit tighter and more dynamic but otherwise pretty much indistinguishable tone.
Badass as always ola rig sounds sick like that
The Sag and the Volume knobs on the Syn-1 don’t do anything when plugged into the amp, if you plugged into a preamp like the KSR or SD PowerStage, then they would work like there supposed to!
Awesome sound
The mesa road king rig of the week video is just unbeatable.

The tone 👑 ola
Sounds awesome with a ton of capabilities! -BenFo
Can you walk us through the theory or modes of your clean playing? It’s sounds so ominous or mysterious, so cool to hear you play clean!
I'd be really interested to know if he uses a certain scale or something like that. Ola's clean playing is just so fucking cool.
It is not powerball. It is powerBALLS! Man... what a beast
Shit! Those Testament riff sounded killer!!!
That switching between amp preamp and external preamp is genius. A tip of the hat to whomever thought of that.
Not exactly new but a very good feature indeed.
Wow, really impressed with how this sounds. Very punchy, tight midrange and creamy gain.

Good to hear some new riffing for a change
I wish I had that setup with a crap ton of those modules ! It would be a great way to kill boredom.
Kinda like this one more than the Savage module.
This amp brought the fast riffs and shred out of Ola!
That sounded awesome! Any chance of doing a Mesa TC100 rig of the week!
the SAG knob is supposed to be placed just a bit lower then the red led will light up
All these Synergy preamps are brilliant but... there are differences in sound/tone depending on if you run them into the synergy powered heads or into the Synergy power amp or your own amp. Be aware of this before you buy one or more. You may find your best personalized tone by testing all 3 of these setups. Ola you are awesome dude. Cheers from Downunder.🤘🎸
Impressive. I’d like to see a side by side with a Powerball or Savage. Also would love to see you run through the Uberschall module.
best engl head to my experience so far
Savage is way better IMO
Lack of mids, overcompressed and plastic sound. I've sold it and i am happy with that.
Tjena, Ola. Sounds jätte bra. Love the Engls so much. How about an in depth run through of the Savage?
the soloed 58 sounded sooo good holy shit
your videos become better and better
This sounds more thug thug than your other video on ENGL Power ball pedal. I might try my metal pedal board which uses cool cat metal II pedal, a couple of delays all going to a Black Box Reloaded ENGL Power ball amp simulation. So I need to know what sound I am trying to make.
6:52 Testament ^_^
Let me turn ON my HATE GAIN switch all the way up and say this out loud: PLAY SOME 8 STRING CHUGGS !!!
Guitar sounds good clean too.
Hej Ola. Nicely done Demo and sounds. Kinda Mesa'ish scooped EQ sound very similar. Keep up doing more videos they cheer up nowadays. "Och hälsningar från Finland hoppas ni alla mår bra där!!" Cheers!!
p.s You got me interested in Sonar guitars ;)
I love that tone! It chugsss so bad 🤙🤙
That little bastard sounds wicked

Awesome tone man. You should do a review of synyster gates Hellwin amp. 👍

That's odd, makes me wonder why it's not as accepted. I love that album. It definitely has a darker and more haunting tone to it.
Ola... do you think you could show us a diagram how you have it all hooked up in this video for some of us that cant see how it is all connected.... great sound btw !!!! nevermind I looked it up... pretty interesting unit !!!
your video production is going next to the next level everytime, dude, those lights, camera, filter and everything are damn perfect!
Hi Ola, love your containt !!! Can you try for the next "rig of the week" to pan both of your mic ? I mean for example the sm58 on the right and the beyerdynamic on the left, just to hear what happen 😄

Full on chug without an overdrive! Yeah!
Sounds killer!
You should do the next rig of the week with a kiesel! was kinda cool watching you try different brands of guitar!
(dont get me wrong, i love your brand)
Sounds massive!... Love it!...
This SM58 alone sounds amazing
JCM800 next please 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sound beast AF !!!!
Engl doesn't fuck around lol.
Another entertaining video Ola! Thank you. 🤘 What is the clip you have on the strings on the headstock?
Are you utilizing some sort of Noise Gate? I would expect there to be a ton of noise when you switch to the high gain channels. Or, is the synergy system doing something to eliminate the typical hiss and feedback from a tube amp at that level of high gain?
Because the chugs gets way more awesomererer
05:05 I've now been attempting this riff for YEARS and still can't play it! 🤦♂️🤘🤘
WOW what a riff!
And that's his first riff
What's it from?
I want to learn it to spite you.
tricky dick Pantera - Cowboys from hell
It’s from the song time will not heal from the haunted
That sounds monstrous
I want a Randall Satan...
Ola, please dig up the old Yamaha DG series to see if it's still up to the standard of today. Tak !!
Chug vs Chug. Sounds like Chug on UA-cam. Keep it Chuggin'. I liked for Chug.
So Its a "mini rack" and you just change the module inside? Or am I just feeling stupid? Sounds awesome by the way.. some good riffs there Ola!
I wanna know where can I buy that Tesla clip on Ola's Solar. Massive tone as always
those synergys are so cool
I felt the manliness oozing all over the room from the the randall satanballs you were playing with today! Massive!
awesomeness
