New York cheesecake is NYC's dessert. I've had it in the city and it's amazing. But in the rest of the state, one of the biggest ones is the half moon cookie. Not to be confused with NYC's black and white cookie (thin shortbread kind of cookie), completely different textures. The half moon is more like devil's food cake, pillowy and moist, with vanilla butter cream on one half of the top, and chocolate butter cream on the other half. Most bakeries here make them. You can usually get a vanilla cookie or chocolate, I prefer the chocolate.
Black and White cookies should never be shortbread. That's a shanda. The cookies should be a soft lemony cake with a white glaze on one side and a chocolate glaze on the other.

So embarrassing to see Utah’s on here. Not sure why we apparently love Jell-O so much, but the green one is supposedly the most popular. But as mentioned in another comment, it’s eaten with a meal a lot of the time, not necessarily dessert.
Part time Idahoan here, and I will disagree with you on the Idaho potato ice cream. Everyone has heard of the ice cream potato. It isn’t all that great, but it’s more of a novelty dessert.
I dunno. I had duffey rolls a lot in high school. it was the go-to snack for seniors who got to leave campus. They're definitely a sweet that I've only had in Denver - the irish cream one is pretty good. BUT - they're all in South Denver or Englewood.
you can only really find duffey rolls in south denver. theres one in englewood. but really there are only 3 shops. its one of my favorite treats. i recommend you go, the cinnamon rolls are like a cross between a croissant and a cinnamon roll.

Because although it's originated or a acustomed to that specific state we also share our desserts with everyone else in the south. Sweet potato pie, mississippi mud pie, pecan pie, peach cobbler, and my state banana pudding, we have all of those during the holidays and special events or even just casually when we feel like making it.

I was actually surprised to see "roughly" because it's accurate. The german "Kuchen" contains both pie and cake, which Americans distinguish or am I wrong? New York cheesecake is NYC's dessert. I've had it in the city and it's amazing. But in the rest of the state, one of the biggest ones is the half moon cookie. Not to be confused with NYC's black and white cookie (thin shortbread kind of cookie), completely different textures. The half moon is more like devil's food cake, pillowy and moist, with vanilla butter cream on one half of the top, and chocolate butter cream on the other half. Most bakeries here make them. You can usually get a vanilla cookie or chocolate, I prefer the chocolate.
I could to for a nice NYC cheesecake from juniors
I tried making a cheesecake once...nearly burned down my kitchen.
Black and White cookies should never be shortbread. That's a shanda. The cookies should be a soft lemony cake with a white glaze on one side and a chocolate glaze on the other.
