    Clear instructions and always nice to see a video of an assembly, before doing it myself. Also, good to see someone taking care during unboxing and installation... many others who received the printer from Creality really don't care and yank it out of the packaging. Anyways, thanks for this. Good content. Just subscribed!

    You mounted the run out sensor and filament mount bracket in reverse. The spool holder collar should sit in the negative space of the mount and the run out sensor should be on right if you are facing the printer.

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  5 місяців тому +1

      There is no wrong way. It's mounted? Filament passes through? Cable connected? Done. I could mount the run out sensor on my ceiling, if I had an extension cable.

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  7 місяців тому

      This is the way. All Creality official imagery has it forward, and the photo on the box itself has it forward. I also built their machines for them, at ERRF.... Forward. Even if they wanted back (they don't), I would overrule.

      @@3DRundown I need to push on this comment. The picture as well as Creality's own online videos, manual, etc has it showing the screws facing the top belts. In other words, the screws are hidden when looking at it from the front.
      Does the orientation actually matter?
      I am returning one from Amazon due to defects, but it was running up until when I'm disassembling it for return. I had it oriented the way the manual shows without issue (issue was a bent extruder plate causing it to cant outwards. I bent it back but....don't want a new item to be askew).
      I'm wondering what the different even is since the spool is facing same direction either way. Seems like it may be a moot point.
      Thoughts?

    • @3DRundown

      At this point, it would be preheating the nozzle and bed. Is that happening?

  • @phil2082
    @phil2082 7 місяців тому

    I had to rebox my printer. Thank you for this video.
    My third print failed hard, and resulted in so much PLA globbed around the nozzle assembly that the whole thing is going back instead of waiting for replacement parts.
    Removing the cover screws is three on the right, one on the left. Worth inspecting in there regularly.

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  7 місяців тому +1

      Your nozzle was loose at the heartbreak. I would fix it myself, rather than return it. This happened to my CR10-SE (1st printer I have ever had this happen with). I know it's my fault, as I didn't inspect it after assembly, so, I will fix it myself.

    • @phil2082
      @phil2082 7 місяців тому

      @3DRundown Ouch. This one seemed more like it was stuck on prints that pulled up in my case, but I suppose I should check these things better.
      When I return this printer and get a new one I will definitely do more disassembly and reassembly before using it. Apparently the build plate needs alcohol cleaning, too.

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  7 місяців тому

      That could happen..... if the model leaves the print bed, and then sticks to the hotend, and the filament has nowhere to go, so it just builds up all around the hot end. Don't hate me, but.... that's also user error, and our fault. I almost did this on my V3 KE yesterday! Sometimes I get lazy, and forget to peak at the print. I just assume all is well, and..... DISASTER! Lol. Never trust your machines TOO much. :P Do IPA clean your bed. Being clean is the most important part. I am also not a fan of textured PEI. Smooth PEI holds so much better.

    • @phil2082
      @phil2082 7 місяців тому

      @3DRundown I was using black filament on my third print. I filled the bed with small pieces. It worked perfectly for about 6 or 7 layers, so I let it be. I came back a few hours later and it was destroyed.
      You can call the print failure user error, but the printer eating itself to death as a result is definitely a design flaw.

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  7 місяців тому

      I have 40 machines, THOUSANDS of prints. Never had this happen. It's 100% you. Why FILL THE BED WITH SMALL PRINTS? Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Especially if you used Textured PEI for loads of small prints.

If using Creality Print, you can upload to Creality Cloud, directly from Creality Print. You can also print via the Klipper Interface, but, I would use Creality Cloud. • @3DRundown

      Oh boy. Z-Binding is not good. Possibly the left and right Z-Rod are missaligned. I hate to give you wrong advice. It IS a grub, but, the fitting is unusual. On the CR-10 SE, it has the more commen fitting, with the 2 grubs, due to it having TWO Steppers, where the KE has only one. I would have to look into the best way to address that on the KE. For now, email CS@CREALITY.COM, and explain in very plain english, what is happened, and ask them to tell you the correct way to resolve.

      Updates... I went through a level and square and the printhead bracket is actually bent, and the hotend is mounted crooked (because of the bracket pushing forward, making it crooked), I've spoken to the bracket and they will send me the new parts... I had another resonance problem because the structure is a little crooked and wobbly (despite having tightened everything correctly) using a square, the ends of the supports were cut crooked.... fortunately the support will fix this, for those who have the same problems, check these parts, it is very likely that they are crooked or cut incorrectly.
