    You had the best car at the event hands down! It is also your best build yet (even beat out the Model T). I love it!

    So cool to pull into a show with a 100 old Porsche and have one of the few unique cars that someone didn't restore for you

    Man that thing sounds mean. I owned a Fiat 850 many years ago and I can’t imagine how this car performs vs a stock version. I liked how it drew a crowd before you got out of the car. Awesome build.

    New to your channel and just watched this series. I have really enjoyed watching this build and think you have done a great job.
    The quaife unit saved you lots of work. The car looks and sounds great, after all it's got a high revving bike engine.
    An old fiat from the 70s that wasn't full of rust would be as rare as hens teeth here in UK.

      Thanks for checking out the series. Yes it took about 7 months of working on it full time. It’s probably the coolest thing ever built.

    Suzuki power and reliability, a plus in this car. Yet I keep thinking of what a Ducati engine would have done for the 850; solely for the all Italian theme. Nonetheless, this is probably the most powerful 850 on earth.

    I had the 69 School bus yellow coupe (paid $1450 in 1970 at BMW dealer in Santa Clara) I did s few things lowered and front scooped it and got to 104mph after a few miles. 1/4 mi with a buddy w2as abt 14-15 seconds. The transaxles pull out on hard cornering. A fun car Konis just make it stress more,. Abarth had some answers but I was still in my teens/

    I think that you have a very inspiring story here. I would love to try to do this. Could you make a video on just what it took to do. It terms of tools and machinery? Did you do everything yourself? Do you have a mill? A lathe? I see that you have a welder. Anything else we should know about how complicated something like this would be to do. Thanks. Great project

      @@bernibeckmann9753 Thanks for the suggestion, but I have looked at a lot of his videos, all of the Fiat bike engine build. One thing that I have noticed a lot of the internet. Is that people are pretty vague when it comes to explaining what they do. Maybe you pick up on things quickly, but I always want to learn more. I don't expect a step by step lesson, but I always seem to want more information.

    I think I watched all the videos, though not every word you said did I hear. When you were planning the build, were there any alternative engine locations that came close to being chosen? What were they? I assume the elevated location of the engine is because there was not enough space for you to move it forward and down. With the Quaife, could you have turned the engine 180 degrees and mounted it transversely where Fiat mounted the 850? Any idea how much more or less the current engine/transmission/differential is in weight compared to the Fiat engine/transaxle? I am impressed with your taking on this build and getting it done so quickly. Great work. Did the hard top not work with the intake or other concerns? Thoughts about a front air dam? My own fantasies about the 850 Spyder entail adding about 20 inches of wheelbase behind the drivers seat. Mostly to use the Fiat body, windshield, VIN, doors, hard top roof. Thank you for your video work and sharing your creation with us.I am always interested in why people are making the choices they are making.

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  4 місяці тому +1

      The Quaife diff has a different gear ratio in reverse so mounting the engine 180 degrees would not be ideal. Also I was concerned with how it looked more than how fast it goes around a track and I liked the way it looked with engine sticking out. But you’re right it would not go any lower and I barely have enough legroom as is so moving it forward was not an option. The car is much lighter now. It’s about 1,500lbs with a 54%/45% weight distribution with the rear being slightly heavier. It also makes close to 4x the HP so it’s a bit faster than it was with the stock drivetrain. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
