You did a phenomenal job creating this beautiful piece of machinery. The combined aesthetic and mechanical outcome is stunning. I say this because the 850 Spider is one of my favorite roadsters from the 70s. Its original engine provokes one to drive at full power all of the time and that's what makes it fun. I can only imagine the terror I would feel with your creation. Be safe!
Your ingenuity, skill and solutions through this building process have been remarkable. You have lifted that little unassuming 850 shopping cart from a whatsit to the little sportscar Fiat meant it to be. Looks great! Fantastic soundtrack! Love it!
Great job on this very cool project. You've done some really thoughtful engineering. The car still seems a little jittery but I suppose it's impossible to make an old, lightweight convertible rigid. I also notice downshifts are little crunchy. The Suzuki GSXR-1000 gearbox in the motorcycle shifts up and down beautifully so either you need to blip the throttle when downshifting or you need to play with the linkage you made, or both. Keep the videos coming!
You and your channel are criminally underrated, do you know idea how much I look forward to these videos. I wish this was a proper swap kit lol I would do this in a heartbeat
Yeah! So many things to say. Definitely one of the coolest things I’ve seen on UA-cam. Those mods you made definitely seemed to be well engineered and needed. All these things lead to miles of smiles 😊
Definitely a improvement, I own a 73 Fiat 850 and I don’t ever drive it because it’s so dam slow. Trucks get on my butt and pass me on double yellow lines.
🌴 So after watching the complete build process and seeing the finished car I couldn’t help myself while sitting in my recliner saying that’s freak’n bad azz! I’ve been wanting to do something like this for years and when I came across your videos it was hell ya ! Most swap video’s don’t show the full process and you give a step by step view on how it was done , and it was great having Walter there for supervision 😄 I’m to old to take on a build like this now but it was sure fun watching you for fill your ambition, not only the build part but watching you enjoy the car on the open road , way to go 👍👊🏼
It turned out great! Quite a "garage engineering" feat. Well done. I always enjoy your videos, and look forward to any more content you post. Thanks, and Woof to Walter.
This is such a great car and build! I am so impressed with you craftsmanship and knowledge on every project. From stock to extreme customization you are an inspiration. Almost inspiring enough to get me off my butt and start on my EV MGB 😁
Good one with the intake. I recently experienced this with my scooter engine swap. The original big airbox didn't fit, so I installed a cone filter. But it was so loud! I couldn't believe it, louder than the exhaust. So now I'm making up a smaller custom airbox too.
Hello Jared! It's been awhile since I've seen one of your videos, they just aren't popping up. I have noticed that when I go to my "NOTIFICATIONS", your videos are there. You've done quite amount of modifications on this last project and it seems to have worked well for you. There is another You-tuber I watch call "BUILT OFFICIAL", he primarily does a lot of modifications, You two are my favorites because you both are very studious in your approach to accomplishing a goal, something i need to work on. Anyway, I look forward to watching and catching up with all the videos I have missed. A devout fan of you work and knowledge and the fact that you share it with all your fans.
Excellent solutions, very happy that you can wring it out and enjoy it! (It IS half Suzuki now so you NEED to install some garish blue and red anodised bits :) )
VERY impressive project! Having owned three 850 spiders in the past, I cant help but feel you can do a lot with the original layout and a 2.0L fiat engine - but I'm a bit of a purist.
My friend put a 215 CID aluminum V8 in a triumph spitfire. Pretty decent job snappy little car. I've seen six cylinder 850 Spyder I believe the motor was from a dino Ferrari.
friend, first I want to congratulate you on your channel and also for sharing your projects!!! I live in CABO SAN LUCAS. AND IT WOULD BE VERY NICE TO HAVE THIS PROJECT AROUND HERE.. ASKED ... WOULD YOU SELL IT???? GREETINGS FROM CABO SAN LUCAS MEXICO.
Congratulations to you! You have built yourself a world class sports car! You can drive it around all day long and never see another one like it! The ride was fantastic, a lot more exciting than the Model T I bet. Don't get me wrong, I love the Model T too. What gear were you in going up the hill? By the way, I hope little Walter is doing well.
I bought my first car in 78. It was a white 71 850 Spider. My GF's father came to look it over cause he had experience fixing his Triumph GT6. Drove it and looked it over and said it looks alright, so I bought it for $300. All I had.. The seller even delivered it. Finally got my license a few months later and registered it. Brought it in to get inspected and they said it needed brakes. Got a family friend to do all the brakes for $80. Brought it back in to Fiat for inspection and they now said JUNK it. All the unibody sheet metal where the front suspension mounted to the body was crumbling from cancerous ROT! Fiat still owes me a convertible... And NOT one of their POS. 7 years old. What a shame. Hugo was a better car.
@Jerod_Helt I’ve already got a Gixxer 1000 and an RPM FNR box in a mini buggy. Thinking about building a road car. Currently the most interesting prospect in the classifieds is an 850 Spider, which led me here. Would you build that car again or look for a different donor?
i think every one else has it wrong forwed for up make far more sense forwed for faster back for slower seem right to me think every one else is backwards

I used to rude a Yamaha R1 motorcycle and boy, the sound of this car really brings back memories. Awesome job! Totally bad ass.
I know what you mean, I closed my eyes and imagined myself riding Jacks GSXR1000 through the twisties again.
That road was Definitely made for motorcycles, so your halfway there. One of the best Bike engine swaps i have watched on UA-cam.
Sounds beautiful! You should bring that thing to East Tennessee and run it on the Tail of the Dragon! 11 miles, 318 curves.

That sound is hypnotizing in a most beautiful mechanical way. What's next on your to do list?
Made my day! What a great conversion. Thanks for improving the shortcomings. I want to drive it. The perfect size/style car for that drive.

Sounds great. That was thrilling. Loctite and Permatex make a windshield repair kit to get rid of that bulls eye in the windshield.

Thanks for the kind words. This was a really fun project and the car is a blast to drive.
Great to see you back testing and changing your engineering for better ride and cornering your and inspiration to us all

Now you can appreciate what it takes to sort out a production model R&D is a continuous endeavor.
Looks like a heap of fun mate. Nice project.
Thanks Jeff. I like problem solving and this build was full of little problems to solve. I would love to watch you build a motorcycle powered car👍
Love the improvements! Great job!!
Big fan of your work, my friend

Wow, that was a lot of good work you had time for, now you are longer caught in making regular weekly YT updates 👍
Excellent solutions, very happy that you can wring it out and enjoy it! (It IS half Suzuki now so you NEED to install some garish blue and red anodised bits :) )

Nice machine you built. Awesome.
Wow, that is great. Hope to see you on a drive in a much slower Fiat soon.
Awesome build....have fun!!!
Awesome build!
That thing is SICK!
Nice point of view… fantastic car !
Epic Build !
What road is that?
Incredible build! Carlo is smiling down at you and this car. 😎
Nice I'm doing the exact same engine swap except with a 71 spider 850. But I'll be doing a toyota rear end set up like the dwarf cars use in racing.
My friend put a 215 CID aluminum V8 in a triumph spitfire. Pretty decent job snappy little car. I've seen six cylinder 850 Spyder I believe the motor was from a dino Ferrari.
Very cool build mate
Very cool car! Well done.
Nice upgrades!
Too cool 😂
Zoom zoom , On steroids !
When can I expect delivery ?
Lol
Wow that is so cool, and how you know how to dial it in like that, I would love to do that too one day
Very nice result! Paddle shifter next?
saludos y abrazos desde
CABO SAN LUCAS MEXICO
This thing is awesome
Very nice job.
LOVE THIS CAR! God smacked!
Very cool 😂
Love it.
The vents on the hood might be too close to the windshield where high pressure builds up. It might be not so efficient

Mostly 2nd gear but sometimes into 3rd
It’s a great project. Do you mind my asking what the budget added up to?
I think I have around $8-10k in it

"...sounds smooth and really grate" he says, while wearing ear plugs...
Like Forza...but in real life lol. Incredible build
Love the improvements, the sound is so smooth nice 🔥
I was wondering what are the shocks you are using now front & back ?🤔
I’m using QA1 shocks
@@Jerod_Helt Thank you man ! I have an s600 and was wondering were to check options for an update/modernization 😁😅

I would definitely build this car again. The 850 is a great option for a donor car.
@@Jerod_Helt thanks!
great work but wouldn't you enjoy that engine more in a 500lb motorcycle frame than a 1500lb go cart?
That to much power on two wheels for me
Where the hell did you find scales with a rebel flag on it? Damn.
Facebook marketplace place😂
GSXR1000 would go well in such a light car as a Fiat 850. Btw what do you do for reverse?
I used a reversing gearbox 👍
👍👍✌️
Jealous of your talents
I have a small mini truck I want to put the motorcycle in it's a Subaru sambar I want to put the motorcycle engine are you in New Jersey or New York
I’m on the West Coast
