- I took the Porsche 356 on a 5 day 1700 mile road trip. I met up with the Arizona Outlaws for 3 days of the drive. We went to Winslow AZ, Mexican Hat UT and the Monumental Valley.I also solo camped at the Lost Dutchman State Park near Phoenix Arizona as well as the Mathers Camp Ground near the Grand Canyon.

Hey Jerod, saw the write up in the AZ Outlaws newsletter. Great trip and video! Keep on with the restorations!
Great video 👍 I’m thinking about doing a road trip out to the Grand Canyon next year

Hello Mr. Jerod,
I was a longtime subscriber of your videos and really enjoyed your 356 beat out, your FJ40 clean up, and your moto engine install videos. I always looked forward to watching your vids and especially the silent ones which I would often watch two or three times. I miss seeing your attention to detail and unique filming style. I hope you are doing well .
I totally understand the direction you chose, but for selfish reasons, I wish you could do more 'garage' type videos.
Thank you for all of the entertainment you have provided me.

Hey Jeff, thanks for taking the time to write this and for watching my videos. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I’ve been working on a few projects but haven’t had the time or motivation to edit the footage into new videos yet, but I do hope to have something out soon.
I also prefer the silent videos and would like to get back to making them soon.
Thanks again
Jerod
Hello Jerod, how are you?
Congratulations on your channel, which I have been following for quite some time.
Question: At some point will you make a video with the progress of the FJ40?
greetings from Chile
Yes, I have been making progress on the FJ and should have a new video out soon.
What a fantastic trip filled with forever memories. How many total miles? Any mechanical issues? Did the whole group camp too? 👍😎👍
Edit - I see in other comments now it was about 1700 miles. What a great trip
No mechanical issues, the car ran great. As a group we stayed in hotels but I had a two day drive to meet up with the group and to get home so I camped on those nights.
Love your 356 videos. How did you fit all of that gear and the bike in the car?!
It actually wasn’t that hard to do. But the bike is surprisingly small in person.
👍👍✌️
Super-very great trip,have a good one! 😇
Good one Jared, great footage! It was a fun trip.
Yes it was!
I have a 1958 356A that has Solex 40PII-4 carbs that are in need of some attention. I wanted to see if you are still running the Chinese Solex replacements on your 356, and if you are still satisfied with them? Thanks.
I just removed those carbs last week. They were still working great and I have no complaints with them. However, I recently discovered that the camshaft I installed when rebuilding my engine is designed to work with the smaller zenith carbs not the solex carbs, there is a different cam made for the solexes. So I installed some zeniths and now the car has more power and idles better than it ever has. Apparently it was over carbureted before. If you engine is set up to use solex carbs then I think the reproduction carbs are a good way to go.
@@Jerod_Helt Thanks for the quick reply. I ended up shipping my Solex carbs off (yesterday) to John Truman for a proper rebuild. Happy to hear you found a good fit with the Zeniths.
It's really good to see people driving and enjoying the vintage cars - I took a cross-country this past April and can't wait to go back in the Southwest region, especially with winter coming on here in CT. Sounds like your 356 ran very well. Would love to go on a rally like that sometime with my '68 912. I enjoy your videos very much.
Great video! Car ran well I take it. Wife and I moved to Phoenix a couple years ago. Still need to get north more often. Sedona has been the place we visit most when folks come to town. I'll retire in a few years. I want to get a Corvair convertible for cruising around the state.
Thank you for the trip around a very similar landscape to what it is here in Australia.👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful scenery, hope to make that trip someday….
Love the 356. Have several of them, all great cars! Good to see you enjoying your car too!
The car looks like it’s running great!! Beautiful trip
Wow Jared; channel name change? You’ve gotten this car now to drive so nicely. I always wonder about the story and the circumstances around the car’s accident. It is certainly back!
Yeah I decided to change the channel name to my name. Thanks for watching!
@@Jerod_Helt So I had the name wrong all the time! It’s Jerod. 😉
@@vayabroder729 yeah I’m pretty sure I’m the only one that spells it this way
Love these road trips in the 356 Jerod. Keep em coming 🙏
Nicely done. 👍
Thanks buddy!
Thanks for taking us along!
👍💪✌
Very nice road trip, ( haven't finished the complete video yet, but I will) But it seems the car ran problem free and I'm interested to know your oil consumption if you would share that with us. BTW. I'm totally impressed with the work you did to bring up to the condition it's in. Cheers.
I don’t think it burns any oil, but it does leak a little bit. I don’t usually need to add any between oil changes. This trip was 1700 miles and there was no noticeable drop in oil level.
@@Jerod_Helt Impressive. My SC consumes app 1 L/1000 mi but its mostly leakage and I'm content with that.
nice news from you and your 356.
