Hello, great video and thanks for the explanations. It seems like you’re not taking your hoop knife and really getting down and getting all the dirt out of the frog. Is that because of the thrush and tenderness you saw there? Great work. They are lucky to have you.
Interesting to see you work, so many factors to account for. Would you be able to introduce and show the horse first? They are individuals with personalities and stories. Doesn't have to be long, just an intro. Thank you.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback. I couldn’t on this video there was too much talking and background noise. But many of my videos have the farrier sounds and the next one I post will have them.
Thank you for watching and for your comment! This horse actually didn’t have any signs of founder on X-ray. He had just been locked into a poor shoeing job for a long time. Yes I have heard of Pete Ramey.
Boots would benefit some horses in this situation. This horse is at a boarding barn and boots would not be ideal for him because they are labor intensive on the owners side. Most people that board can’t get to the barn everyday to check the boots. There were no nails left in this horses hooves. The clinches were rasped off before removal.
so obvious you really care about these animals
Thank you for watching and for commenting! I really do!
Excellent. Would like to see the results after trimming, perhaps see the horse walking if possible or see all four feet on the ground.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback!
I'd imagine he would want to lay down during every break, but I would also like to see that if possible!
lovely thinking of pads and rest. He had nice heels, maybe only overgrown like this once and all can be brought back. Learning lots
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Thank you for making these! I enjoy watching them and learn so much!

@@The_Female_Farrier Good to know, although I doubt I’d need it: I live in an alpine desert (8,000’) in Colorado.
Looking at his front feet it seemed that he foundered. I know this was a while back. did you notice that to? Also, have you heard of Pete Ramey?

Where are you located
I’m in Arkansas.
Could you please leave the sounds on . I for one who grew up watching the blacksmith, back in the day, work was great. Ps, could do without the music.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback!
0:05 A KILL PEN?!
Yes 😳😞
Would boots benefit a horse in a situation like this? Don't you want the clinches out...isn't that leaving nails in the hoof wall?
