This song is one of the Bee Gees songs that are in the soundtrack for the movie Saturday Night Fever, staring a young John Travolta. In the opening scene Travolta is walking down a street in NYC to this song.
I read that the director and producers had a Stevie Wonder song with the beginning scene. Boz Skags also had songs in the movie but was not used. At the final viewing, they felt they needed a different sound. Robert Stigwood (manager) asked the Bee Gees for songs. They submitted that song and 4 others. Robin said they had no say as to what song to use for which scene. The beginning strut had to be re-synchronized with Travolta's walk to the BG's song.
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ua-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/v-deo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ua-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/v-deo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ua-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/v-deo.html. I have seen them singing with their sister at one of their concerts but just can’t remember which one. She came on as a guest singer. She had a great voice to and they all blended beautifully together
@@magpiegirl3783 Her daughter passed away unexpectedly in Vegas in 2021. The Gibb family initially suspected the COVID vaccine killed her...IDK if that was her actual cause of death or not.

The Bee gees was a brother band with Barry Maurice and Robin Gibb. They also had a younger brother by the name of Andy who started his own career later.
"The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is actually quite a serious one; It's about survival in the streets of New York, and the lyrics actually say that". Barry Gibb added: "People crying out for help. Desperate songs. Those are the ones that become giants. The minute you capture that on record, it's gold. 'Stayin' Alive' is the epitome of that. "Everybody struggles against the world, fighting all the bullshit and things that can drag you down. And it really is a victory just to survive. But when you climb back on top and win bigger than ever before, well that's something everybody reacts to everybody".
They wrote their own songs. They are brothers, from Manchester 🇬🇧, they lived in Australia for a while then came back to the UK. Barry is still going and lives in Florida.
BeeGees stands for Brothers Gibb. Barry is the lead singer. The other two are twins, Maurice and Robin. They had a little brother named Andy who died of a heart condition due to drug use really young. Barry’s falsetto is amazing. They have a song catalog that is huge. This is from the movie Saturday Night Fever. John Travolta starred in it in 1977. It was his big break and was huge. He can dance. He did Grease later. You’ve heard this song on other movies as well.
These guys were the kings of Disco. They did the wound track for the John Travolta Disco movie 'Saturday night fever'. Tons of great music. The one singing lead is the only living member & his name is Barry. The others are his twin brothers Maurice (balding with beard) & Robin with the long hair. The name came from them being the Brothers Gibb. Bee Gee's. LOL They had a younger brother Andy Gibb that went solo, that sounded like them too. Those genes are strong.
The Bees Gees: Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin - red top (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, (not shown) the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Barry stated that Andy lived the 'LA lifestyle' involving drugs, and he had heart problems. Andy and his brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry Gibb (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2023, he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. Cool man more reactors from Oklahoma I'm in Midwest City turned 16 in '75 the Bee Gees came out w an amazing album that year called Children of the World need to check out the title track excellent song just subscribed be checking in
Someone else said earlier but thought it needed to be said again. If you ever need to do CPR, remember this song. It has the perfect timing to do the chest compressions. (At least for an adult.) 🤔 🎶 Stayin Alive = CPR 🤯 😄🥰🤗
Bee Gees are great. I recommend starting with the 60's and going all the way through 2002 with their songs. There's nobody like the Gibbs brothers. Sadly, only Barry, the oldest brother is left. All the brothers passed away but him. Andy Gibb was the youngest and died at 30 years old. He had a music career of his own, and he was great too. Check out his hit songs. He had 3 number one hits. Then check out some of these Bee Gees songs: The kiss of Life, The Only Love, Just in Case, One, Living Eyes, Blue Island, Heartbreaker, Love you Inside and Out, Lonely Days, Rings Around the Moon, Alone, For Whom the Bell Tolls (outside in NY version) Smoke and Mirrors There are many more songs. They had a long and amazing run.
Bee Gees are what I grew up on. You Should Be Dancing and Too Much Heaven are great songs out of the many. They wrote for others as well. Barry Gibb cannot be touched. Their other brother Andy Gibb was a singer too but separately instead of in the group most of the time. The Commodores or any Motown artist was the sh!t back then too!
Andy was the baby of the family, Barry is the oldest, Robin and Maurice ( pronounced Morris) were twins. The Brothers Gibb wrote over 1,000 songs for themselves and many for other artists.
I really like y'all's reaction. 👍❤️🔥❤️🔥. I will mess with y'all as long as y'all mess with. Bee gee,s. Barry in the middle the oldest. Twins Robin & Maurice. 3 years younger. 💞💞💞
This was my first time sitting in with you fellas, thank you for allowing me to do that! I enjoyed the time I spent here with you so I subscribed and left a big like for you. I'll be back again when I can find you, but now that I've found you it will be easier to find you again! Best of luck with your channel!
I don't know what to say... there's so much to delve into when it comes to the Bee Gees. The best way to learn about them is the documentary How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. If you knew nothing else about them, this is the song you'd know. But they are so much more!
Dive into the rabbit hole guys; it’s is deep and full of amazing music from 1967-2001. I’d go with Bodyguard next, Robin has lead on that one-angels descended and breathed that voice into him.
Try also their other monster epic bangers Night Fever, Too Much Heaven and How Deep is Your Love - 36 #1 Hits worldwide and this amazing legendary video with together 1 billion views, (most airplayed tune since 1977 on all radio stations worldwide survey from 2017) - style, walking and tight 27" inch jeans and legs like a female model with a lion hair and full beard - Freddie, Michael Jackson, Prince we can go high also - Barry : Hold my beer 🍺😂
The BeeGees were the Brothers Gibb. Barry is the oldest brother, the tall one. Twins Maurice and Robin were the others. They all had incredible voices and that blood harmony - can’t be beat.
They are all brothers, wrote more 1000’s songs in their career. Have been performing since they were children, hits from the early 60’s to the 90’s They can all sing that falsetto you hear, though Barry was most known for it. And sadly Barry is the only brother still alive. They also have a younger brother named Andy who was also a great artist. And when you hear Barry he’s almost always occupied by his brothers
Great reaction guys! You just opened a rabbit hole. 40 years of song making. Try; Jive Talkin’, How Deep Is Your Love. There’s a lot of different sounds from over the years. I’m also going to try and introduce you to another duo worthy of a rabbit hole journey. I looked over your history and I think you’ll find some smooth music here. The duo is Carpenters, a brother and sister act from the 70’s. So pure voices and instrumentation, no auto-tune and modern crap. The song I’m recommending is Rainy Days and Mondays. If you like it there’s more where this came from and the Carpenters Army will find you and follow. ua-cam.com/video/PjFoQxjgbrs/v-deo.html

They wrote over 1000 songs, 100 made it to top 100.
Calling the Iron Maiden video dookie is the most real reaction in any reaction video. I haven’t seen it but at least the guy is being honest
Ya eh. I like Iron Maiden but keeping it real is always the best policy. I don't know what video but its all good lol. I hate some of their shit too. The Bee Gee's are killer.
Cool man more reactors from Oklahoma I'm in Midwest City turned 16 in '75 the Bee Gees came out w an amazing album that year called Children of the World need to check out the title track excellent song just subscribed be checking in
The Bee Gees made disco come alive along with Donna Summer
"Too Much Heaven" Raw Talent, like you've never heard.
Love the way these two guys move to the music. It tells me that they don't just hear the music, they feel It!
BeeGees… Brothers Gibb!
BeeGees were big in the Disco Era. This song has been in a lot of movies. It is also the best they say to use when giving CPR.
Much more greatness where that came from!
The beegees are buetiful people
Too Much Heaven!!! Next please!!! ❤❤❤
Michael Jackson and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees
All In Your Name.
Bee Gees
Too Much Heaven.
Too much heaven next
They all sing. The Brothers Gibb (BeeGees) set the tone for an era. Look them up
Great reaction guys ❤❤
ABSOLUTELY TIMELESS!!!!!
No lie, my 3yr old son loves this song
If you’ve ever watched a movie or a commercial then you’ve definitely heard this song
Bee Gees…..brothers gibb.
Bee Gees have 1000 or so songs. Go for it!
Nothing better than watching Travolta strut to this song... ❤
Too much heaven 🔥🔥🔥
Ahah good reaction vid. Genuine!
Barry Gibb lead vocals did unparalleled falsetto
Someone else said earlier but thought it needed to be said again. If you ever need to do CPR, remember this song. It has the perfect timing to do the chest compressions. (At least for an adult.)
🤔 🎶 Stayin Alive = CPR 🤯 😄🥰🤗
Bee Gees are great. I recommend starting with the 60's and going all the way through 2002 with their songs. There's nobody like the Gibbs brothers. Sadly, only Barry, the oldest brother is left. All the brothers passed away but him. Andy Gibb was the youngest and died at 30 years old. He had a music career of his own, and he was great too. Check out his hit songs. He had 3 number one hits.
Then check out some of these Bee Gees songs:
The kiss of Life,
The Only Love,
Just in Case,
One,
Living Eyes,
Blue Island,
Heartbreaker,
Love you Inside and Out,
Lonely Days,
Rings Around the Moon,
Alone,
For Whom the Bell Tolls (outside in NY version)
Smoke and Mirrors
There are many more songs. They had a long and amazing run.
Barry Gibb can still sing like that today. They were honored a couple of years ago, and he sang this
Radio waves travel through space forever.
I knew this was gonna be good 😂😂😂. I agree with the Too Much Heaven recommendations. Gotta do it.
He said Iron Maiden is dooky. LOL I concur, my guy. I concur!
Great song for power walking. I put it on repeat
You guys made me smile. Thank you
Bee Gees is for BGs as in Brothers Gibb. Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. ❤
♥ Bee Gees = Brothers Gibb. Check out Too Much Heaven next!
@@gwenmorantz7767 yeah, I said other, not older
Same. Andy sings in you should be dancing video on here. BeeGees concert.
@@slyfox1971 sorry, cataracts, misread your remarks.
I refuse to believe that someone hasn't heard this song. It's absolutely impossible.
Fun fact. If you have to perform CPR, you're supposed to pump the heart to the beat of this song.
Yup. I’m a fitness instructor and we were taught that in CPR training. Or, 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. 👍🏻😂
My RN daughter told me this, too. The song is literally used to keep people alive!
They have special dances to their songs. One of the greatest!
Dude! You have pony tails.. I don’t know what to think about that 😂😂
I really like y'all's reaction.
But they are so much more!
they didnt have any autotune or help back then - they had pure talent
Plenty of talented singers today too. Some overuse autotune, but many don't
“Love You Inside and Out” is a funky tune that makes you move. Give it a listen. 👍🏼 😊
One of my favourites!
I thought you guy’s would like this one 😊👍✌️
Winds of change
BeeGees are timeless
That’s sooo cute! Dudes got ‘lil cutie pig-tails like my 10 year old niece!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
see that smile on your face, that's what its all about!
😅
The 70s man !!!!!!!
All brothers
I think the phrase is Heebie Jeebies which means making me nervous or giving me anxiety. Something scary.
Try Jive Talking next - totally banging!
This song is from the ir"second" era.. They were my favorites when I was a teenager (I'm 66). Massachusetts, How can you mend a broken heart... ❤❤❤
The BeeGees were the Brothers Gibb. Barry is the oldest brother, the tall one. Twins Maurice and Robin were the others. They all had incredible voices and that blood harmony - can’t be beat.
They're called the Bee Gees because they are the Brothers Gibb, B Gs for short.
Barry Gibb = Best falsetto in the business!
They are all brothers, wrote more 1000’s songs in their career. Have been performing since they were children, hits from the early 60’s to the 90’s
They can all sing that falsetto you hear, though Barry was most known for it. And sadly Barry is the only brother still alive. They also have a younger brother named Andy who was also a great artist. And when you hear Barry he’s almost always occupied by his brothers
They are all brothers with several hits that u need to check out
Tragedy or Nights on Broadway!

Wesley Snipes is in the house!
Love your videos!
I love the Bee Gees. They had a younger brother named Andy Gibb and he was equally talented. You should check his songs too.....shadow dancing and I just want to be your everything
Watch Robin Gibb ( beegee)
74 Melbourne...I started a joke
Love the Beegees❤
The Brothers Gibb. Over 350 million records sold. Check out more. You will not be disappointed.
I LOVE that you fellas love the BEE GEES!!! 🎉👍❤️ ... Listen to some of their older stuff - THE BEST OF THE BEE GEES (also known as the ‘yellow album’).. I Started A Joke, Massachusetts, To Love Somebody.. Holiday. OMG.. awesome songs! Not on that album, but later - listen to “tragedy“… Awesome!
Another good BeeGees song is Jive Talkin'.
As someone mentioned earlier you must watch the movie that this song was featured on. The music and dancing will get to you. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
