Sir Barry Gibb. 78 years young the only one still living. I fell in love at 15 in the 70s skating to all the disco hits. I'm now 60 and I'm still in love with the magic that is the BeeGees welcome to our world of music that will live on in infamy!!❤❤❤😊
I grow up with the best Group ever. Nobody can switch there Voices like the Bee Gees. So many Songs and every Song is a surprice. And Barry's falsetto is not from this Planet ❤❤❤
Fun fact, Barry, the lead singer, married his wife, Linda Gray, in 1970. They're still together. Barry is also the last surviving Gibb. Robin, Maurice, and Andy have passed away. A good video to see all four of the Gibbs, Barry, Maurice, Robin, and Andy, is the song "You Should Be Dancing". "You Should Be Dancing" should be your next video from these guys. 😊
Tenho 55 anos e acho lindo jovens como você gostar desse tipo de música. Música é atemporal. Não existe música velha. Música faz bem a alma. 👏🙏😘🇧🇷
I would suggest you watch their video for "Nights on Broadway" performed live on "The Midnight Special" in 1975. On that one, you will get to hear Barry's chest voice, Robin's vibrato voice, and Maurice's falsetto voice!!!!
... I'm always surprised that many people don't really know the songs from the past!! ...It's definitely worth listening to everything! ...The disco era was great, especially Donna Summer, the queen of disco music!! 🔥🔥🔥Thank You
In the late Sixties, Barry and Robin alternated lead vocals. Robin had one of the most touching vibrato voices ever. You can hear him as co-lead on "Massachusetts" and "Gotta Get a Message to You." Solo lead on "And the Sun Will Shine," "I Started a Joke," "Odessa," "Black Diamond" and "Lamplight." Starting in the mid-Seventies, their manager had them switch to Disco and had Barry start using his falsetto and sing lead on almost every song. Their music is pretty much the entire soundtrack for the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and its sequel "Stayin' Alive." But Robin still got an occasional lead song. Even Maurice got a few, including "Man in the Middle" and "Closer Than Close." Little brother Andy sometimes performed with the group, but was never an official member. Instead, he worked as solo artist, with Barry producing his material and writing a lot of it.
Well, he was a total Lothario / rogue before he was married. He even had six girlfriends at the same time at 15 / 16 hears old, and proposed to all of them, using the same ring, lol. He admits it. He was so handsome he could have any girl he wanted, and he took full advantage. But once married he’s been totally faithful.
@TWariner yeah well that's irrelevant he literally was only a kid. When these videos were made he had been married for 10 plus years and had 2 children. He was not the player guy. I still don't know why the poster of this video thinks that he was. Obviously being good looking means you are the player guy.
Barry 's high and smooth tiptoe falsetto was the signature voice of their later music journey 🎉❤ talented great Sir Barry 🎉❤wish he and his pretty wife health and peace 🎉❤
These Bee Gees reaction videos just slay me. I have no way to comprehend the fact that there are people alive today who have never of The Bee Gees and haven’t heard their songs. It may be a bygone era, but their talent is second to none.
Growing up during mid 70s was great. Cause I grew up through some of the best eras of Music. BeeGees STAYIN" ALIVE was in fact one of my favorites songs as a kid from them.
History Check: Since 1977 it is the fifth biggest single of all time with 32 million EAN singles sold worldwide 👍claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017 - every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most influenced and covered pop songs in history.
Absolutely phenomenal talent,I actually attended a live concert in Las Vegas in 1997 , the bee gees were amazing live, all three brothers had amazing vocals, I really enjoy Robins amazing vocals, checkout Robins vocals in the song ( I Started A Joke ) and a video where the bee gees are performing live outside in New York, with the song ( For Whom The Bell Tolls) Robins vocals are amazing in the song, great reaction thanks!
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ua-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/v-deo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ua-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/v-deo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ua-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/v-deo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ua-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/v-deo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ua-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/v-deo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ua-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/v-deo.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ua-cam.com/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/v-deo.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing ua-cam.com/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/v-deo.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg
The BeeGees are the definition of disco, they were disco itself in the 70s. You just happened to start with a ballad from them but they're very, very famous for their disco dance songs. Many of their songs were in the 70s movie Saturday Night Fever, a movie with John Travolta about disco dancing.
Good reaction again to the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive". The song was used in the Movie "Stayin' Alive" from 1983. Which was a sequel to the Movie "Saturday Night Fever" from 1977. And John Travolta starred in both movies. Other great Bee Gees songs are: "Tragedy", "How Deep Is Your Love", "You Win Again", "Night Fever", "Massachusetts" and "More Than a Woman". Good job keep going.😉❤
Barry Gibb is the Only One Left Alive. U should check out his duet called Guilty with Barbara Streisand. It's Amazing, was a Big Hit . Think you will Love it. Softer song, beautiful boy/girl song.
The BGEES grew up & started their careers not far from where I used to live .I still remember seeing them perform on TV for the first time as young teens . I love "I started a Joke ".
It's interesting that Robin is your favorite, he was always my favorite growing up in the 70's. He just had a very unique appearance and I was totally mesmerized as a teenager!
One of those songs that you never really tire of listening to which means the song structure is just about perfect. I'm really happy you have a soft spot for Robin as Barry usually gets all girls attention. Poor Robin and Maurice are usually left out in the cold completely haha.
During their long career, the brothers Gibb reinvented themselves two or three times. Each phase was outstanding...in its own away. Brother #4, Andy, was 8 years younger than the twins (Robin & Maurice) and 11 years younger than Barry. Because The Bee Gees were an established act, Andy went into the music business on his own. Tragically, he succumbed to depression and substance abuse and died at age 30. Of all the brothers, Barry is the sole survivor.
So, am I the only Maurice fan here. Actually I loved Barry when I was younger but now that I’m older and look at different things than just looks. I love his humorous side and also his smile. The Fedora he wrote looked so great on him with his duster. But love his fun side!! Favorite videos are when the three are behind the mike and he gifs of. Downey take away from singing but adds so much fun. Would love to see them live. I’m sure he has more that we haven’t seen. Plus, he rarely gets the respect he so deserves for his musical and harmony contributions. RIP Maurice and Robyn
Hi Olavity. So glad you were delighted with the ' Bee Gee's ' Staying Alive you should watch the film Saturday Night Fever as they wrote all the songs for that film as a lot of songs for other artists ' Islands In The Stream' by Dolly Parton /Kenny Rogers , Celine Dion ' Imortality ' to name just a few the Best Group to sing Harmonies together no one to touch them I think anyway ❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💋💋💋💋💋💋☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
They sing those high notes in their upper register and it's known as falsetto. It's very impressive that they can get so high in falsetto, produce so much volume in falsetto, and stay in falsetto for so long. I sang tenor in the University Chorus at the University of Illinois, and had to sing a lot of falsetto. I used to come home from rehearsals with a sore throat!
When you think about it, of all the hit singles the Bee Gees produced, only 4 were really disco, although they did lend their talents to other groups, and their brother Andy for his dance numbers. This was the theme song to the movie 'Saturday Night Fever' and probably the most iconic of all, although 'You Should Be Dancing' was the one that really filled the floors in the clubs.
Bee Gees. 9 Grammys s, indycted into rick and roll hall of fame, songwriters hall of fam, Kennedy Center award in 2023, a slew of top 10 songs, wrote over 1000 songs, many of them top 10 and #1 hits for other artistis, Diana Ross, Dionne Warick, Striesand, Celine Dion, Kenny Rogers, and many others. Michael Jackson hung out with Barry. Barey was also knighted by then Prince Charles for the Queen. Lifetime achievement award These guys are LEGENDARY.
This song was very popular in 1977-1978 as it was a theme song for the movie, "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta. Huge movie at the time! You might want to watch it. Lots of Bee Gees music in it. :)
Hello Olavity, This is my first time sitting in with you today, thank you for allowing me to do that! I enjoyed the time spent here with you so I subscribed and left a like for you while I was here! Since you like Robin so much you should check out "I Started a Joke" to start with he sings the lead in that one!
Just love your reactions! John Travolta got his acting career in the movie Saturday Night Fever and the Bee Gees music that was used in the movie ,The bee Gees were big player's in the disco music era. The youngest brother Andy died of Myocarditis a serious viral inflammation of the heart that could have been treated if caught in time.
The BeeGees actually came to resent this song a bit because they became known as a disco band. They were not a disco band, they were a band that did a few disco songs, it wasn't *all* they did and it upset them that so many people were surprised that they had other genres they could do. Between the three of them, they wrote hundreds (Berry Gibb alone wrote over 200), the of songs both for themselves and other artists. There was a 30 year period in America where there was always at least one song written by one of them in the top 10.
The Bee Gees sort of had two careers, one as a soft rock or pop group, and one as a disco trio. I knew them in the late 1960s and early 1970s for hits like Gotta Get a Message to You, I Started a Joke, Lonely Days, and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. Then they seemed to disappear, only to explode back into the popular music scene with disco hits like Jive Talkin', NIghts on Broadway, How Deep is Your Love, Stayin' Alive, NIght Fever, If I Can't Have You, More Than a Woman, and Too Much Heaven. Six of those appeared on the soundtrack album to the film Saturday Night Fever in 1977. Really there are only four years between their "two careers," as Broken Heart came out in 1971 and Jive Talkin' came out in 1975, but they had no Top 10 hits in between, and they really, really exploded on the disco scene in 1977. Although many people credit the Bee Gees with sparking the whole disco movement by releasing Saturday Night Fever, some music historians claim that discov ws already dying and that they revived it for a few more years. Either way, from my perspective and a child and then a teenager, it seemed like they had two distinct careers. 🙂
Watch the You Should Be Dancing video. It is a live performance and it has their youngest brother Andy singing with them. He was the best looking. He favors Barry. Maurice and Robin were twins. Barry is the only one left. Andy died when he was 30. He had hits though, Shadow Dancing was a big one. I loved him.
Yo may not be aware of it but you have heard the BeeGees before. Movies, Tv, Cartoons, Advertising and 100s of songs written for other artists. Country,Disco, Rock, motown even gospel. They originally called themselves the BG's. Promoters and merchandisers didn't like it because it was to easy to confuse the name. So they spelled it out to BeeGees witch always stood for the Brothers Gibb. There was a fourth brother, the youngest named Andy. He was the heart throb of teen girls at the the time. He (Andy) got the TV time/movies. He was the number one teen idol of the time. One other thing about the BeeGees they always keep there music clean.
I don't know if anyone has already said it, but this song has the perfect beat for performing CPR... so, if you ever have to save a life by doing CPR, hum this song and you will do it right, and literally "stayin' alive."
"Jive Talkin" which is not a part of their movie music, but it is the song that got the Bee Gees into disco from their folk rock days, which is another genre but great music. ("Massachusetts") Also the documentary of how they wrote the five songs that are the basis and musical theme for "Saturday Night Fever," (on You Tube and Tubi) is fantastic.
Fun fact: This song is said to be perfect for when giving cardiac massage for it has the perfect beat / tempo to do so. So literally this song can save lifes.
Remember this song, If you ever need to give an adult CPR it is the perfect beat for chest compressions, Don't waste your time and energy on breaths, just pressing the chest down about 1/3 to half way will get enough air in the lungs. Don't start with the compressions until you have professional help on the way. This song can literally keep someone staying alive.
such a great band - another singer that is sure to impress is Joni Mitchell, I suggest you watch "Woodstock (Studio version) Live 1971" she explains the song and her singing is other-worldly.
While you are doing songs from "Saturday Night Fever", also check out "Night Fever" and "You should be dancing", both upbeat disco songs. And slow songs like "More Than a Woman" and "How deep is your love".
Falsetto is what that kind of singing is called....Falsetto voice. The Bee Gees were good at Falsetto as was Franki Valli and The Beach Boys, and even Jan and Dean.
You shouldn't be surprised, the Bee Gees were the kings of disco.

Hi Ola, the Bee Gees were great in several genres of music, ballads, disco, pop and rock. Their versatility was incredible.

His voice is incredible! You should listen to "I Started a Joke". Showcases his voice beautifully!
One of those songs that you never really tire of listening to which means the song structure is just about perfect. I'm really happy you have a soft spot for Robin as Barry usually gets all girls attention. Poor Robin and Maurice are usually left out in the cold completely haha.
The Bee Gees own the second 1/2 of the 70's with their disco style music. You must watch the movie "Saturday Night Fever".
Finally...someone who fangirls over Robin like I do!!
To see all 4 brothers perform together, check out You Should Be Dancing. Little brother Andy joins in.
Lifetime achievement award
These guys are LEGENDARY.
This song was so big on South Africa radio charge epic Bee Gees love your reaction
Check out Andy Gibb(free youngest and cutest with the girls) He was a solo artist with many good songs. He died early at 30 years old. 😔
"Shadow Dancing" "Desire", "Time Is Time"
This song was very popular in 1977-1978 as it was a theme song for the movie, "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta. Huge movie at the time! You might want to watch it. Lots of Bee Gees music in it. :)
I'm stayin alive. No time to talk. Stayin Alive! Some of the finest here.
His acting career began with the TV show “Welcome back Karter and later he was in Saturday Night Live and several other movies.
Top bands from those times didn't just have one hit and keep repeating it. Every song was different. The Bee Gees performed various styles of music.
Please react to How deep is your love by the BEEGEES thanks
Best harmony band ever to have existed, and the only band to have sang Falsetto for their whole career. Legendary
Her Smile is Precious when Shes Happy! Her boyfriend is going to be so lucky guy to be with her. date her, hold her and kiss her!!! ❤❤❤❤
React to The Bee Gees "Night Fever". The biggest Bee Gees hit, 8 weeks at #1 in the U.S.
"You Win Again" is pretty good.
beegees are very famous for disco music, as they made the songs for 'satruday night fever' cisco film
Back in the day, this was song very popular. It is on the "Stayin Alive" soundtrack, which was a popular movie.
Great reaction
Love the Bee Gees, Robin and Maurice were twins with big brother Barry, they had a young brother Andy, who sang too, but passed away in 1970s.
When you went out disco dancing in the 70s, half the songs were BeeGees.
Great group! Barry is definitely a stand out and so talented. But I agree with you, there's just something about Robin! OMG!
Barry was the lead singer. OLA you are True Magic!! 🌟 🤩 ❤
On this song, and he did it marvelously, but not on many others. Robin was the lead on many of the Bee Gees' best and most beloved songs.
She's so C🎉ute! I just Love and Adore her..Ola Fanboy ❤❤ 💋 😘
Cute(Ola)*
@@normcummings-w6w Not true, Barry was the lead singer on the most (hit) songs, sometimes Robin had a few short lead parts!
@@normcummings-w6wRobin was lead on 2 of their 60's hits....after that it was Barry all the way to the bank!🤑
Yo may not be aware of it but you have heard the BeeGees before. Movies, Tv, Cartoons, Advertising and 100s of songs written for other artists. Country,Disco, Rock,
motown even gospel.
Very enjoyable, watching you. Thanks 🙂
I love Bee Gees...
Andy Gibb "Time Is Time". "Desire". Both from 1980
He got all the good genes. He's the only one still alive and his falsetto is incomparable.
We use to teach CPR to this song😅
This is from the soundtrack of the movie Saturday Night Fever.
This song was disco.
B/G stands for the Brothers Gibb ✔ ✅
It actually stands for Barry & Barbara Gibb, Bill Goode & Bill Gates.
You are so adorable! Love this reaction!
"Jive Talkin" which is not a part of their movie music, but it is the song that got the Bee Gees into disco from their folk rock days, which is another genre but great music. ("Massachusetts") Also the documentary of how they wrote the five songs that are the basis and musical theme for "Saturday Night Fever," (on You Tube and Tubi) is fantastic.
the 4th BeeGee is Andy Gibb, he had a solo cariere, but he died at a very young age
one of Andy's songs that stayed in my mind is shadow dancing
Fun fact: This song is said to be perfect for when giving cardiac massage for it has the perfect beat / tempo to do so.
So literally this song can save lifes.
"Islands in the Stream," was written by Barry for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.
😮NOONE IS MORE ADORABLE THAN YOU!!! ❤❤❤❤😂
Saturday Night Fever. Making history of disco music.
Andy Gibbs the missing brother died at young age of 30 was a great singer himself
I believe one of them died, he had a twisted organ in his stomach I forget a lot of the information about the incident.
Andy Gibb "Shadow Dancing", If you want check out the fourth Gibb brother. "You Should Be Dancing", 1976 has all four of the Gibb brothers.
such a great band - another singer that is sure to impress is Joni Mitchell, I suggest you watch "Woodstock (Studio version) Live 1971" she explains the song and her singing is other-worldly.
Great reaction, my dear! ❤
If you want to hear Robin front and center, I would suggest you roll back to their 1960's song, "I Started a Joke." ✌️
This song is from a movie with John Travolta. Saturday Night Fever. Was a huge movie and soundtrack (Bee Gees did a few songs for the movie).
While you are doing songs from "Saturday Night Fever", also check out "Night Fever" and "You should be dancing", both upbeat disco songs. And slow songs like "More Than a Woman" and "How deep is your love".
Great suggestions!👍
Would it be ok to recommend " Night Fever" as well Great Group Bee Gees!!! example of great under appreciated real!!! music from the past!!
Falsetto is what that kind of singing is called....Falsetto voice. The Bee Gees were good at Falsetto as was Franki Valli and The Beach Boys, and even Jan and Dean.
KINGS of disco
