LMC truck is a great place to get some of those interior parts. Especially the plastic stuff as it will just start to break sooner with the junk yard stuff. I love junk yard parts, just not plastic junkyard stuff
On my 2nd gen I'm going to flip the front leaf spring hangars, that with my 2 inch drop shackles and on my 17s(I'm running the 2nd gen ram sport 4x4 wheels) with 245/60/17 it should sit sporty...well as sporty as a 96 club cab long bed can look
When I swapped my second gen upper dash to a new oem dash I the plastic broke out from under the vin plate on the original dash with the rivets in place. After I had the plate I used a socket on the back side and pressed the vin plate into the new dash with the original rivets in place! Little dab of epoxy on the back side for good measure but it was solid without it
I did a rear axle flip kit on my 2nd gen and it was too low with the stock shackles also. So I ordered a 1in lift shackle for it and it worked out beautifully
I bought a flip kit for my 96 indy pace truck years ago. Was to low so I installed a 5 inch rear drop from belltech. Just new front hangers and shackles.
In order to get exact ride height when doing your levelling adjustments…, i dont understand why you would not take the weight/stuff outa the box?? You mentioned theres a engine block an wte else , so to me empty the bix an be sure before doing final leveling adjustments, but those rims look so good i leave them an jus put bigger tires on them , new carpet is my suggestion
Love the tan carpet its so 90s. Restore that stuff! Also keep promoting the 2nd channel and move us all over there as quick as you can. Don't ever let the man win 💪
@boostermotorsports would it be better to check ride height with everything out of the bed? I mean leaf springs are hard to make sag but I think an engine block would cause a lot of sag. Also what do you think about trying to get a 4th gen rear bumper with the dual exhaust cutouts to fit? That would be sick.
I say replace the carpet with new of the stock tan. I hate to state the obvious, but how can you judge the ride Haight with all that weight in the bed?
If this was my truck, there's no way I'd take the SS/T wheels off it. Especially with that low stance. Leveled, at that ride height looks killer.
I agree I have a Indy ram they look perfect on those trucks!

I love that you’re saving this 2nd gen
great video ....i would replace the carpet see if LMC TRUCK HAS A CARPET FOR IT...
I think you should go with a dark brown for the carpet it'll match the dash trim
Maybe a dark blue carpet to match the exterior blue rally stripes?
Also, a complete interior color change to grey or a dark blue would be nice maybe?

Did it hit frame in looking to do the same for mine a flip kit and a lift shackle or did you cnotch it
Got a link for the head lights?
nice progress. Black carpet !
THUMBS UP !
I really want to see the hood stay as us on top. Restore the under side, with blue stripes on fire wall too.
Maybe get a new hood to paint and keep this patina one on the side to keep the soul of the truck story
I've hears good things about dry ice blasting to clean the carpet.
Not sure why the 727 was even a thought. Glad you’re going 8 speed
because they are badass….. easier to work and in my note would be better on the long run
Amazing what a dude can do in flip flops.....

Love watching your videos.
I WOULD COLOR DYE IT THE CHOCOLATE BROWN COLOR

I've been meaning to start my project but haven't had time due to work for a 1995 for 600 no rust but broken dash and bezzel

Prime time to check the heater core comes to mind with dash apart.

Where did those rear disc brakes come from? Mine has Drums, did you swap them in?
Love your videos bro keep up the good work
Do you plan on lowering the SS/T maybe? With a 2/4 or 4/6 drop kit. 🧰
Replace the carpet maybe with a darker tan or beige color.
Maybe can you reinforce the dash with fiber glass
Yes, I've seen them repair it with fiberglass resin. Some audio and upholstery shops mould it with fiberglass then wrap it with vinyl and stitching.
Dye the carpet tan for sure
I say go black carpet.
It would be cool to show the truck to the old owner when you are done.
Hey I got a question can I put a hellcat motor in 02 dodge ram?
I paid 80 for 98-01 dash tan aswell just found a mint oem top panel for 98-01 for 30 bucks

Leave the 3 speed we’ve all seen 8 speed hemis!
They sell the paint code specifically for carpets. I forgot the name of the web site
But they actually sell
It to restore it.
Not super stoked about the 8 speed swap on this one ngl. I wanna see a transbrake on it then
replace the carpet !!

New black carpet would definitely be the best choice. Black carpet hides allot!
