Part of me feels sorry for today's generation. We GenX folks were so fortunate growing up in the 80's. I only regret not being able to know how good it was when we were there.
Well stated!
That’s for sure. We had great music.
Or that it was going to end..😣
Fue una suerte crecer en los 89 y en los 90 había tantas buenas bandas...los chicos de hoy se conforman con cualquier cosa artificial que en muchos casos no es ni música..como el reguetón
Us Babyboomers were right there to
You will never find a concert like we had in the 80s ever again. Those days are gone, and I am glad I was born in 65, cuz growing up we had the best music, and the world was a different place back then. I love watching younger reactors just gush over how large the stadium concerts were back then, and how packed they were.
Agree. Born in 1960. She needs to check out a live Ted Nugent concert. Just saying…..
I agree. I was born in 55 and 70s and 80s were the best.
I went and saw Guns n Roses in a stadium with 100,000 people only a couple of years ago.. Stadium rock still lives..
Indeed! I was born in '63...
Ritchie Sambora is the guitarist. I've always thought he's underrated. Love him.
He’s amazing!!!
@@brittreacts Check out Chris Cornell, Nothing Compares 2 U. Unreal.
So do I…
@@brittreacts you must check out Bon Jovi 1989 MTV Music Awards
unfortunately, Sambora is not with them anymore.
The lead singer is Jon Bon Jovi. He is the one with the great teeth. The other guy is Richie Sambora. He had a solo career at one point and so did Jon. Amazing band and they are my favorite band of all time. You need to check out more for sure. Can’t go wrong with anything you pick.
Thank you for this info! I will do more digging for sure!
Don’t forget Tico Torres on drums, Hugh McDonald of bass and David Bryan on keyboards
If you want another legendary live concert, check out Queen at Live Aid. Freddie Mercury ruled the stage and the crowd. As good as it gets.
Richie Sambora is a legend. His solo stuff is incredible. He's got a beautiful voice and he's a fantastic guitar player.
I saw them live in '89. They were phenomenal!
And we pulled this off back then because the majority of people hadn't lost their flippin' MINDS back then! 😅
Bon Jovi were Rock Gods - and Ritchie Sambora, the guitarist? Amazing. One of the greats.
Yes, usually the "double neck" guitar had different tunings or additional strings. Most times it is a 12 string (instead of the usual 6 string guitar) on one of the necks. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin used a double neck guitar as well as Don Felder of The Eagles (used on Hotel California). This song is in the key of D. Bouncing between D Major and D minor throughout the song. Lots of country songs and old folk songs use the key of D. Like "The Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks for example. The beginning part he was trying to make it sound like a dobro instrument. That type of instrument drones on, meaning a ringing overtone for a sustain of tone. (Lasting a long period of time.) This song has always had a Western feel to it. The mention of "Steel Horse" meant a motorcycle. The modern day version of riding on a horse and the wind in your hair. Every band at some time comes up with their "anthem" song. Most times it is a ballad or rock ballad. Hotel California - The Eagles. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin. Dream On - Aerosmith. Love Hurts - Nazareth. Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue. This is Bon Jovi's anthem song, Wanted Dead or Alive. Great reaction.
Wow! Thank you for this info!!
@@brittreacts You're most welcome 😉👍🏻
Richie Sambora (guitar, backing vocals, lyrics) is something out of the ordinary. He is one of the best guitar players in the world, and his vocals are absolutely perfect. You should try listening to his solo work ("Stranger In This Town" and "One Light Burning" are two of many beautiful songs of his).
He stepped out of Bon Jovi a few years ago, left the band mid-tour, and BJ lost much of its soul as a consequence.
Bon Jovi The coolest hair in the 80's and 90's
Bon Jovi is a Legend
There was no passing out or anything. I was 13 years old when I was there. No drama, nothing unsafe. I would, and have, taken my kid to a concert like this.
Jon’s smile always got me. Love Bon Jovi.
There is a Madison Square Garden performance where Richie Sambora (the guitarist) takes lead - specifically I'll Be There For You. If you want to see him take the floor, that's a great performance. There is also the MTV Music Awards 1989 Performance that is iconic, Sambora's vocal performance in that is godly.
Agreed!
you know your songs badass when the crowd sings every single word along with you.
This is my favorite song of all time. Has been since this album came out in the 80's.
Richie Sambora was the lead guitarist in this video. He has three solo albums aside from his long time with Bon Jovi and has done many other projects. His first instrument was the accordion, but he jokingly said he couldn't get no girls playing the accordion so he switched to guitar. That double-necked guitar he is playing was custom made for him by Ovation. He has triple-necked ones where they have added a mandolin on the top in addition to the 6 string and 12 string guitar sections. He is a phenomenal player with heavy blues roots. He was influenced a lot by Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. This is my favorite song by Bon Jovi. Richie always did a big lead-up to this song because the crowd loved it and went wild for this song. He also is a strong vocalist. You can also hear a lot of keyboards in this song. David Bryan who plays their keyboards went to Juilliard, but quit when he had the opportunity to join this band. He puts a lot of the flesh into their musical sound. He has also written or collaborated in the production of multiple musicals on Broadway when Bon Jovi takes a break. My favorite musical he wrote is called Memphis. He also has a great voice. If you want to hear what he sounds like look for a song that was released on a Bon Jovi compilation album called 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong. The song is called Memphis Lives in Me and David Bryan sings it himself for the album even though the song was from his musical. It is a beautiful song!
I was born in 1951 so I grew up through all the best years for music and innovation! Go further back darlin’ to see how rock and roll started. Love ya girl 👵🏼💜☮️
55 here... I agree
1948 and we've seen the Best of the Best in music through the decades!
My favorite band of all time!!!! Jon's charisma coupled with Ritchie just making that guitar cry. Not to mention the rest of the band's tremendous talent.
Have you seen Metallica live in Moscow? 1.6 million people. Nobody has topped that yet
Came here to say this exact comment
I haven’t but I’ll be sure to add it to my list thank you!!
@@brittreacts nice, I'm excited to see your reaction to that 😁😁😁
Epic video greatest crowd ever. Enter Sandman one of my all time favorites. Just saw the Blacklist version by a Mexican Rock Band liked it a lot too.
I agree. Metallica, enter sandman live in Moscow is a must see. Great reaction too!
Yes! I always loved Richie the best
They have a zillion great songs. Definitely go down this rabbit hole.
Jon and Richie together are magic. Richie's 'Stranger in This Town' album is great!
Richie Sambora isn't mentioned enough. Seriously underappreciated. He eventually recorded a solo project. Look up the single Ballad Of Youth.
I've seen a million faces...and I rocked em all!!
Richie (guitarist) had a couple of solo albums, my fave song of which was "The Answer".... can also hear his vocal quality on the song "If I Can't Have Your Love"..... Keyboard player Dave Bryan also a great vocalist, listen to 'Memphis Lives In Me", he also wrote/co-wrote a musical called Memphis. All amazing musicians. Listen to Jon & Richie Unplugged @ MTV Awards (kinda kick-started a whole UnPlugged are).
To be honest, ive heard this song a million times, but my fav version live was when he and Richie played it accoustic during the MTV awards
Ritchie was my man! One of my big regrets is not seeing them live back in the day!
You have to check out Bon Jovi 1989 MTV Music Awards performance. You will get a great feel for the guitar players vocals because they both sing lead parts and their voices together are gold
The 80's was the best time for music and concerts bar none save perhaps also the 70's. But in the 80's I went to many concerts like this and got autographs from Metallica, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Cinderella, and others....truely a one of a kind era for music that will not be repeated.
Ritchie is an 80s guitarist that doesn’t get nearly the credit he should’ve. This song was from one of the first rock cassettes I EVER owned, Slippery When Wet, I wore that sucker out. This song is such a rock anthem.
Yay, more Bon Jovi!! Check out their cover of the song Hallelujah. So beautiful. Great reaction!! 🙂
Ritchie the guitar player is an amazing singer.
Richie Sambora is pure soul 🎸💜
The guitar you ask about at the song opening is a specially designed twin neck made by Ovation ,having 6 strings on the top and 12 strings at the bottom the guitarist Richie Sambora has them made the opposite way round to the traditional 12 on top 6 on the bottom. Richie left the band in 2013 and they have never been the same . I was at this concert June 1995 somewhere near the front. To see Richie singing up front check out MSG I'll be there for you 2009. Great channel love the reactions, keep it going.
Yes! Thank you for recognizing Richie. He's an amazing talent. He does have some songs on his own, after he left Bon Jovi. "In it For Love" is pretty great.
Thank you for the great reaction! Another legendary performance at Wembley is "Love Of My Life" by Queen from 1986. Hopefully you can put it on your list to get to one day!! Much success to you with this journey!
The whole Live Aid set by Queen is legendary.
Saw them when they OPENED for Ratt !!!! My first concert 😘🥰😘🥰
Back in 1989 that guitar player ( Richie Sambora ) was Cher’s boyfriend
Bon Jovi was one of the biggest rock bands ever.
Bon Jovi, the main singer, is the leader. Sambora, doing the harmony, is one of the best rock guitarists.
I was born in '72, so jr. high and high school were awesome.
Same! GenX had the absolute best childhood/teen years....and definitely the best music!
More Bon Jovi please!
*RICHIE SAMBORA is one the most underrated LeadGuitarists EVER. Everything from the Sambora-era (1983-2013) is alright. He was co-songwriter & backing vocalist too. SAMBORA released 3 soloalbums: "Stranger In This Town" (1991), "unDiscovereD soul" (1998) and "Aftermath Of The Lowdown" (2012).* 🎵🎸🔥
I love that you love Richie’s voice! He is spectacular on vocals. Just do a search for Sambora on here, you won’t regret it! Anything from 90’s 00’s, San Diago Stranger in this Town tour, Shepherds Bush Empire, MSG ♥️
You're right about the guitarist Richie Sambora. Awesome vocals. Check out some of their videos. You'll notice Richie is kept in the dark. He could steal less of Jon's thunder that way. 😎🤘
Double necked guitar (an Ovation acoustic electric, which is why it sounds like that, and that was just Ritchie getting warmed up_) One neck has 12 strings for ethereal sounding chords and the other neck is 6 strings and made for soloing.
You need to watch their MTV Unplugged version of this song.
Richie Sambora lead guitar and vocals has his own music as well
Just tuning
I saw Bon Jovi open for the Scorpions in Rochester, NY. in 1984. It was my first concert and it was great.
Richie Sambora - one of the best guitarist and so underated. He made Bon Jovi --- Phil X is their new guitarist and a complete badass also.
We had so many great concerts back then in my teen years .oh yeah I have a crush too 😂😂 playin
I was there for this, Wembley '95, epic show
Now you have to watch "Young Guns" 1 & 2..
Hell i have to as well ... 😅
Another song that has a double neck guitar is Hotel California by The Eagles. Gotta watch this video!!
Senn them, one of the best live bands....EVER
There is an MTV live recording of this song, just Jon and Richie on guitars.....
They put on the best show ever
The song is about traveling doing concerts BON JOVI was back stage of a bobby seger concert and heard him sing turn the page after that BOnJOVI came up with this song
I'm glad you spot God right away. Mr Richie Sambora.
Am I the only one who thinks that Britt is absolutely beautiful in so many ways.
Part two to this is song is called blaze of glory
People had talent in the 80s
Ritchie Sambora was my crush!!!!
Definitely need more Bon Jovi !
Britt you absolutely have to listen to “I’ll be there for you live at MSG 2008”. The guitarist, Richie Sambora sings the lead on that song. One of the most beautiful versions of it you’ll ever see
Jon bon jovi is georgeous
The guitar is called a double neck stratocast . He also has a 3 neck where the small neck on top sounds like a mandolin.
Ritchie Sambora.. next level gf
La mejor banda del World....
I saw them in concert in 1989 and 2001. Absolutely Amazing both times
That guitar was first developed in the 70s by jimmy page of the most successful band in history " led Zeppelin " The guitar is a 12 string on top and a 6 string on the bottom. Want your mind blown check out and massively grow your channel "" led zeppelin "" song " Whole Lotta Love" song by the best front man ever Robert Plant he don't need back up singer's never seen a woman that didn't fall in love him. 🤘😎 there album sales to date is over 300 million🤯
This song was featured in the movie Young Guns (William Bonny AKA Billy the Kidd) who was a 3rd cousin 3 generations ago.
I love your reaction videos. So glad you enjoy GenX music!
That guitar player name is Richie Sambora he also has a few solo albums.
It's a two-necked guitar it enabled the guitarist to play a song requiring a 6 string guitar and a 12 string guitar without having to change instruments.
I love your reactions to the videos
Love your energy ❤❤
Ritchie Sambora is the guitarist. You can check him out solo if you google stranger in this town and one light burning. Those are my 2 favorites from his solo career.
I have recommended for you he is amazing marcelito pomoy he is a pilipino artis
Hey Brit new subscriber. I've seen Bon Jovi live a few times their audience participation is awesome ! More please enjoy!
"On a steel horse, I ride" That's the tour bus. This is a song about touring.
I saw Bon Jovi in 1986 in San Antonio for the Slippery when Wet tour! It was amazing!!
Love the "Dodgers" cap! It looks much better, simply, cause you're wearing it, Britt.
Bon Jovi is an amazing band to go down the rabbithole of, in that same niche and generation as Aerosmith and Guns and Roses. I'd love to see you do more.
My Britt…Another Great Reaction ❤🎉
Guitar guy is Richie Sambora....he has an album called " Stranger in this town" that's a really good album
Here's a couple of facts to clear things up a bit
1. This is actually an encore performance. After performing for 2 hours, they would come back and perform 2 or 3 more epic songs.
2. Bon Jovi would actually sell out Wembley Stadium in minutes, so they would actually play there 2 or 3 nights in a row to each sold out crowd.
3. Ritchie Sambora is a monster guitar player and that's a double-neck Ovation guitar (12 strings on one neck & 6 strings on the other).
4. This probably would've been much more enjoyable for you if you had watched the Official video of the song first and gotten to know the song, and then watched this Live version.
5. Bands like TOOL and Guns 'N Roses are currently selling out stadiums worldwide, so Covid may have slowed down things for awhile but it will never stop Rock Music.
The official music video is even better x10
I had a life sized poster of Jon Bonjovi in my bedroom in the 80's. I missed it every night. Can't tell you how many dreams I had with him in it.
the Metal World is still having huge outdoor concerts such as Wacken and others
Well I need to join the metal world!!
Love JBJ love all his music from the 80s he my number 2 favorite hair band!! My number 1 hair band is G- N- R ! But love all 80s hair bands ❤
Great band Bon Jovi,Jon and Ritchie both had great voices
I'm new to your channel, just found you and subscribed today. Been watching tons of your videos today. Please, please, please do more Bon Jovi! Had their posters on my walls in the 80's! Panty dropping club members for sure.
It's called a double-neck guitar, One is a 6-string (bottom) and the other is a 12-string.(top) Subtle differences but very distinct. GREAT reaction by the way!
This is how they do it live the build-up towards the song is you will not be disappointed
Been to a concert of them in Austria 25 years ago. 80.000 people in the crowd, means one percent of the Austrian population this time. Was unbelieveable...
Richie Sambora - One Light Burning…. Do it!
That’s a double=neck ovation. The top part is a six string and the bottom part is a 12 string.
