Considering the size of the ocean I think its pretty safe to assume that most of the creatures living in it rarely encounter humans or ships... but when they do encounter a boat or a person, like this Orca, and then go home and tell their friends, I bet nobody believes them and tells them they are crazy... "Come Willie, its impossible for anything to live up there. There is no water for them to swim in... "
Given how long we humans have been sailing the open oceans (500 years) and how many container ships nowadays criss-cross the oceans bringing iPhones to and soybeans back, I'd say they know what a ship and humans are. And that's not including all the sonar our warships/subs produce, or all the depth charges released during war or training exercise, which these animals undoubtedly pick up.

I’m pretty sure there a more than a few ships/boats occupying our ocean. I doubt encounters are as rare as you might think. Maybe for deep ocean creatures, but not for whales/dolphins that continually have to surface for oxygen.

Very cool. It just stuck me as interesting that fish, sharks and reptiles swim side to side, while orcas and dolphins swim with their tail motion up and down.

They must feel too lonely, these poor dislikers. Let's invite them to observe these animals more closely. They'll make us huge like them next. Isn't life beautiful?
Just beautiful! Reminds me of my Husky. Big, black & white, and fine alone, but get em in a pack and they don't realize how rough they're playing til somethings not breathing. ;/
Great vid. You can see their curiosity, how they pump their bodies to move, and how they dig being in the wake of the boat (I guess). Very unique perspective. Thank you for sharing!
Amazing to see orca's in their natural habitat. Maybe some day I will experience the same, because I feel a special kind of love for them. Swimming with an orca you're sure that you can't be attacked by any kind of shark. Not even a Tigershark or a great white, two of the most dangerous sharks. And in combination with the fact that they have never killed a human in the wild makes my love for them much bigger. I love the orcinus orca !!
Maybe a stupid question… but how do they swim? It doesn’t seem like they’re flapping their fins. The one in the back a little bit… but going so fast from just a little bit of movement.
NO NO It is a bit like flying birds. As soon there are flying and they have a certain speed they don’t have to move their wings for a while until they have to speed up again. The sequence of the whales is this moment. Before they come to the boat and the camera they speed up and closer to the camera they only change the position and the course.
Super cool!, So awesome to see them get so close and just follow/check things out. I still can't get over how SeaWorld exists let alone how we can put these animals in a tank.... Let them be in the ocean where they belong.
This video is pretty damn cool, I'm stoked that I'm getting a feed of Orca videos from years back! I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stop watching Orca videos. Unfortunately I got fired from my job, can't pay my bills, my BF left me......Oh well, the Orcas win they're just so damn cute!! (just kidding BTW I may need an intervention but I pay my bills& I'm not on the street watching these videos from a cardboard box so that's good). I❤Killer whales!!!
They are so god dam cute. I can't stop watching Orca videos. This one is really unique so thank you.
I just posted the same thing, g l ad I'm not alone in my addiction to these Orca videos!
One of the most amazing things I’ve seen. Incredible. Shows what a crime it is to keep these creatures in captivity.
The ocean seems the perfect place for orcas to live. Appreciate you sharing this unique way of viewing them. ♥️👍♥️

Yeah, I'm especially saddened when I see dolphins, apes and elephants in captivity, since they are very intelligent and highly social animals. 😢
@knobjockey76 Really? knob what be your problem? A comment?
This is incredible, it's like they don't appear to move but can swim and catch up to the boat with no effort
These animals are purely amazing. I have the utmost respect and reverence for them.

My "Orca dream" is similar, yet different: to find a baby grey whale, rip its tongue out, and eat it.

Jizelle Gonzalez Me to but it seems so unfair for them to be stuck in those tiny pools. I just can't stand it.
terry breedlove they are no different then a bird in a cage or a rabbit in a small pen or any animal for that matter
Kozzzmozzz7 well wrong I believe because they are so much more intelligent and evolved to be in the huge open ocean
