      Well, there has been 1 documented attack on a human, a surfer back in 1972, but the man survived. Since the Orca bit the man once then spit him out, it's thought that the Orca might have confused the surfer with a seal.
      But yeah, there have been no confirmed fatalities of humans by wild Orcas.

      The difference between us and them are very big, some of us will abandon their loved ones if they are in danger but orcas wouldn't, They stick together for life in a group. they don't destroy nature, they don't unecessary kill animals, except for fishes, they toy with them, but that doesn't really count as they later eat the fish. Oh and they don't have to go to school. I Wish I was an orca :(.

      You are right for The orcas in captivity. Actually there is only One captive female orca who is in his 40th in The all world. She's an exception. All other orcas in captivity died before 25-30 in a very bad shape.
      Free there is pods very well known and studied by scientist in wich some females are 60 - 80 y.o. due to a matriarcal rules the females are more easy to follow and identify. The female who rules The pod i was talking about is 103 y.o. You can easly find her looking for the oldest orca.
      Humbackwahles or grey wahle can live more than 200 years... Can you imagine?

      @Bluenose352 6 років тому +1

      S. NANO You are correct. Corky is actually in her 50s. She's the oldest. The reason for this might be because she was once wild. Ulises, Lolita are in their 40s. Both wild/captive Orcas. Tilikum, and Kasatka lived close to, or in to their 40s. Both wild/captive Orcas as well. Orcas in the wild do tend to live a bit longer.

    • @masumi8237
      @masumi8237 6 років тому

      @Samuel Cruz Okay Samuel; having Orca bob their heads to Justin Timberlake's "Dance, dance, dance" is not educational. It is just how cruel Seaworld just is: "water circus!" Speaking of 4 year olds, it is exactly what whalers out in the ocean do: they SEPERATE the young orcas, many AS young as 4, from their families. By the way, there have never been ANY documented attacks on humans EVER by orcas in the wild unlike Seaworld! Just ask Dr. Ingrid Visser if you have even heard of her!
      P.S. P.S I can understand why no one has liked or disliked your comment in the past three years!

      iamlight1 No intentional attacks. I prefer to call them accidents.
      There was an accident in 1972 where a Transient Orca missed a Seal, and accidentally bit a surfers leg instead. There was an incident of a gentleman diving for Crabs, and had them in a bag. The Orca grabbed the bag cause he/she simply wanted the prey in the bag. The gentleman was brought down until he could get rid of the bag.
      There are various bump, and nudge cases. A bump, or nudge from an Orca is like us bumping, or nudging a Rabbit. Doesn't take much to leave a bruise, or broken bone.
      But, again, these cases are all unintentional. Simply accidents.

    Orcas are extremely intuitive and intelligent. I think they are able to sense happiness and excitement from humans and they tend to "show off" when it happens.

    I know Orcas don't attack humans...But you have to wonder if the one under his boat turned on its side looking at him is contemplating, "can I eat that?"

      Well with echolocation they can "see" your bone structure, and if they see that boat, they already know it's not biological

    • @Bluenose352
      @Bluenose352 6 років тому +21

      Nope. They have such a complex, and curious mind, they observe us like we do, them. She was getting a good look, using her hearing, and echolocation to hear his voice. Even pick up his heartbeat. In the time that we may think "Can I eat that?" crosses our mind, they will have thought a hundred different things.
