All you did was go on a dirt road. What kind of off roading is that? 😒
Carlos Mejia because the jeep can't do proper off road
Did you expect them to get a loan of a 70,000 pound car and off road it over hills?
agreed, big difference between the two
Carlos Mejia yeah
Yeah. I normal street car could do that too.
I can't believe you guys took a Jeep off road. How revolutionary.
statesidesupercars it's an srt with track tires
***** it's actually quite fun, good looking, relatively comfortable and fast. It is NOT a track car but it's on pirellies for fucks sake. It is much more than a brick with an engine😂
+Cirnu Flavian Ionut guess u have never heard of the range rover sport SVR? That thing is off road capable and corners relatively well
thats faster then your car
it can do .9g that's not bad for a Brick
This isn't really off-roading, just a quick drive down a wet dirt road. That being said, I bet the SRT8 could handle just about anything with some LT tires on it
spongegary busey idk I'd get the overland edition if I wanted to go off road anyways
spongegary busey the GC is useless on real off roading scenarios, it's just for dirt and snow
spongegary busey I live in SoCal. Jeeps like these are bought by Mexicans. They put huge rims, lower it, and add 8k hids. Off roading wouldnt even be considered. Nice to see one stock also lol. Not racist toward Mexican as I am one but I don't see any other states lowering trucks or SUV. I hate it.
And the situation becomes worse if you go down to Sinaloa, right Luis? jajajaja
Marcelo F. Kawas Yup. Once in a while ill see a nice new Toyota hilux here in the states. Mexican plates, nice bumpers, huge tires and light bars. But mostly useless lowered trucks lol. A Ford lightning is everyone's dream over here. Even if it breaks down every week
"Off road" LOL. A fiat 500 could do that
Jrv200008 a llowered beetle could do it
my smart car could do it!
i do it in a crappy underpowered FWD 4 door sedan
Jrv200008 I own a Fiat 500, and I can tell you, it really can't
Billiamiscool Of course it can. Put good tires under it and keep the momentum.
Mate... I really like Car Throttle, and I understand you're not an offroad channel. But you could have gone down that fuckin track in a Prius with offroad tires.
Even without offroad tires.
TakeTo TheShadows true
jeep probably chose the road
If it was more though they could have lost the jeep and probably didn't want to risk it
I go on roads worse than than on a regular basis in a mini van
You can smell the freedom lmao
*taking a grand cherokee srt down a slightly muddy road
3:45 Like a true petrolhead he reaches for the gearstick
performance suvs like this are such a mixed bag of compromise. they do everything well...for an SUV. I cannot explain it though, but they are cool.
In the end they're better than all the things you could get for the same price. And the trackhawk outperforms most sports cars of the same price anyway. The trackhawk can run a 10 sec quarter mile.
If you had the 70,000 pounds the jeep is worth, what would you buy? 🤔
Carlos Mejia R34 skyline
Carlos Mejia Mercedes c63 amg
Carlos Mejia in America, a BRZ, a 2015 Mustang, Charger or a Focus RS.
A mustang 350 or f-type
I'd love an SRT jeep but not for the price they go for
You should have used launch control on the dirt road.
Hammerheinz I was hoping the same
lol instant limp mode
That jeep sounds amazing!
You guys are killin it,the editing is awesome.Keep up the good work.
A Hellcat Jeep?
Bring it on!
G. B. it doesn't use a hellcat engine its older and less powerful
TwinkieFanboy did you watch the video? He is referring to the "Hellcat Jeep" when it comes out
It exists now. The Trackhawk
This is why my dad leased the Grand Cherokee Overland recently. He doesn't go on tracks, he drives around New York City traffic everyday, and that car has customizable suspension; you can move it up and down to your preference, so it's pretty amazing off-road when we go to Upstate NY.
I love the way you edit the videos!!! Favourite channel :)
I live in Ireland and I never knew that the Grand Cherokee SRT was available on this side of the Atlantic in right hand drive.
these guys always ask the right questions
Probably the only Jeep cherokee srt that would go off road...
I missed the last couple of uploads, but damn, you guys just keep upping the quality. Also, your American accent is ridiculous Alex, I love it :D.
This channel is inspirational makes me want to make more videos on cars love this channel keep it up!!!!
there is literally a button on the dash that turns the sensors off,
also lol'd at the end when he tells the dog to shut up XD
How much work you guys out into the videos! Yiu got my respect!!!!
I haven't even started watching these, and i already am crying
the right hand driving always gets me on your vids
"a big SUV with a V8 engine and massive dimensions" I laughed. Loud. it is amazing what passes for a big SUV in UK. I dailied an old Ford Expedition in in town in Europe and it did not feel big or massive even once.
Nice intro !! 🔥
that american impression was spot on lmfao! "big hemi up front, you can smell the freedom!"
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE CELICA EPISODE!!!!!! AHHHHH :D
@4:45 is when he actually starts to go off road with the vehicle.
Next: Taking a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk to a track
It's TrackHawk
Unless you're being a troll.
What is coming soon is the Wrangler TrailCat
@@londoriath3764 bruh i know you commented 5 months ago, but there is a version of grand Cherokee named trialhawk, and there is also a version named trackhawk, just google it.
@@ketrabix4811 You mean TrailCat?
It's the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that gets that trim with the 6.2 V8
Not the Cherokee
@@londoriath3764 as i just commented, just google it and its gonna pop up
@@ketrabix4811 Seen it.
It's not a Grand Cherokee
it's the Cherokee
I drive roads like this with my 90 hp 1.4 fwd opel astra every time i go fishing....and you make it look like it can only be done with a racing jeep :D
"Anyone who buys this isn't going to be chucking it on the track"
I can think of a dozen SRT wk2 owners off the top of my head who do, and can beat the crap out of many lighter vehicles with the mods they have on it.
Wow very cool, I can't wait to see the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk . I don't know about the Grand Cherokee but I have the "normal" Cherokee and there is a button to turn off the park piepers.
I'm so excited to buy my 2012 in 2021 it's going to be an amazing upgrade from my 2011 Kia Sportage
The SRT is crazy expensive there. 70,000 pounds is about $86,000. I can get one of these in American for $65,000 (or about 53,000 pounds)
😂😂 @ "Big Hemi up front, you can smell the freedom!!" .....that's really how some of us over here are!
Alex, your US accent makes me giggle every time especially since I come from a place where everyone sounds like that.
can you flip it while doing s curves like the older ones
Jeep fixed that problem quickly after that video came out. The same people did the same test with the fixed Jeep and it did much better
this video was really well edited
That "shut up" at the bloody end!😂
I got the opportunity to do this in the brand new Peugeot 3008 SUV before it was released! You should try that on an off-road track! It's so much fun! Great video btw
just so everyone can see this, the trail rated badge means it done the Rubicon trail, the SRT is just a few bits and a motor but that jeep can do real offroading if you wanted to Lookup this is ( Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk | Rubicon Trail | Trail Rated® Capability ) and you will see it go, plus most ppl here in us and Canada get air ride so we can lift and lower the jeep
"Gotta Hemi up front, you can smell the FREEDOM!" lmao XD
this was awesome
Always good mate such a nice change from the posh boys grazie ciao
I like how land rover owners hate on jeeps. Yet they don't realize that the first land rovers were made from remodeled WWII Jeeps. So essentially, Without those jeeps that they love to hate, Land rover would not even exist XD
The best ending ever!
People who aren't notification squad but get here the same time as them anyway unite!
what the fuck does that mean and why are people giving you +1's
Don't covert other people's +s mate. There, I've give you one.
He said it, if you buy a Grand Cherokee SRT you are not getting it to go off road. It may be able to with limitations as its not designed for 'off road' it's meant to be a blisteringly fast AWD SUV, huge difference.
Parrots in the wild - legit
Kant wait for dat Celica vid bro
God I love this car. Would buy in a heartbeat.
Nice work, the only dirt road this car will ever see
Everyone get down to funkytown! A new video!
Cant wait for the celica video...I bought that car recently
British accent describes lifting a car battery as heavy lifting. Me: So I should count you out for leg days?
what happened to the diesel video?
And this is why car throttle is the best, what other car reviewer would rub their head on a sun visor just because it's alcantara??
cheeky top gear writing in there
@ 4:56 parot in tree??? Must be lost. :-) lovely jeep by the way. Nice video. :-)
3:42 If you listen closely, you can hear a bald eagle farting out of the exhaust.
Could you do the same with other SUVs like the XC90 or the X5 and see how well they do?
I have one of these. The button for turning off the beep is right below the screen next to the hazard and heated seats buttons. You're welcome.
In Australia, Grand Cherokee drivers are the equivalent of British Audi drivers. They're a status symbol, despite the fact that many people are complaining that they bought a lemon.
An audi 100 could go trought there with ease
Even without Quattro
a 1960's mini could go through there -.-
Not much of a Fiat or Chrysler fan, but this just truly is a pretty car!
Sonar functions are usually toggled on/off with a button on the center stack.
Car Throttle What the fuck was this todays anti-Diesel video about?
"you can smell the freedom" lol
freelander in front & discovery (LR3) in the back. I think it explains a lot
I got the carthrottle app I love it
thank you buddy
this guy is crazy😂
"big hemi up front , you can smell the freedom " LMAO
Apparently for CT, "Taking a Jeep Cherokee SRT Off Road" means 5 minutes into an 8 minute video, there will be a brief encounter with a dirt road.
At 7:14 i was thinking: Why the hell is he getting out from the passenger seat?
Then i remembered they're british lol
What did you use to film the Jeep from behind?
There is a massive button under the screen that toggles the beeping 😂
I was just thinking of this today, what a coincidence
Can't wait fot the srt8 Durango
When the biggest vehicle on the road in the UK is a Grand Cherokee.. They need some Chrysler Pacifica in their lives
no no, what they need is an old square body Suburban with a 454
I'd like to see a F-350 dually with stacks in the UK. They would shit their pants
I would love to drive my ram 2500 cummins with 33 mud tires over there and see reactions
Great video. Most people who buy an SUV in that price range won't even go that far off road. So, good to know the SRT can.
And if you want a bad ass off road SUV, get a Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol. There's a reason why they're used by the UN and WHO.
Is the updated 2017 grand srt not sold in Europe yet?
when are you working on Phil or the m3 ?:) (bringing out videos)
I have one of those, same color too
@carthrottle: when will you guys visit your fans in India? Lots of love from here!
Sarthak Agarwal never they only go to places to car shows
3:46 When you want to change the gear, but remember its an automatic
I'm pretty sure a Lamborghini Hurracan with lift system up would have done the same ! 😂
I know a guy who owns one and takes it off road. But he modified his car and installed bigger tiers with a lift kit.
Only in the UK does a car reviewer say the best thing about a 500 HP AWD Jeep is the sun visor. Lol! Still - good review.
If u think this is too expensive I think the 3.6 petrol v6 in our grand Cherokee is plenty quick enough and has sport mode which makes it feel really fast
I've driven my FWD subcompact on rougher roads than that...
Yes, it was technically off road, but it's a jeep, you could have at least tried to drive it over a grassy hill or something so we could see the AWD system and how it handled it.
That off road looks like driving on roads in Brazil
a versus between range rover sport and jeep SRT would be cool! DO IT!! JUST DO ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
you should test out the dacia duster
nice to see FCA didn't ruin the SRT for the Euro market
Wow taking a jeep "off-road" so original. And plus the "off-road" was just on a muddy road.
the short answer is NO.
Yes it tourque splits, has traction control, but no low range. approach and departure angles are better than some other performance SUV's and it will definitely surprise, but if you took one off road it would take damage, on approach, and the 'splitter' would be no more.
Well, almost 1/3 of it is off-pavement but still on-road. 1/3 of your face while you are driving and 1/3 is moving pictures of the vehicle, from a REAL off-roader. 😂
