I had a 2019 raptor and was totally unimpressed with it kept it about four months and got rid of it bought a Dodge Challenger hellcat redeye now that is a vehicle that really knows what performance is about
Sorry guys Shelby didn't add 3 inches of suspension travel. They raised the front 3 inches but overall travel is 100% same as a stock raptor. The Shelby shocks are 3 inch the same as the stock raptor as well, Also a 2019 Stock raptor suspension live valving technology is far superior to the Shelby Raptor suspension on and off road.
Nice truck guys, but I gotta tell ya, over the years, driving down dirt roads has somehow equated to going off-road. In this video you had maybe a 15 seconds of this truck actually driving off road. I guess that's suppose to mean it can actually handle going off road, but for me, I gotta see a whole lot more of that kind of driving before I accept its an off road truck. In most of the states in the mid-west, and west, they have a hell of a lot of dirt roads that's considered normal everyday driving, not going off road.
yea, but ken blocks truck was not stock he added more travel and bypass shocks, my friends raptor in barstow c.a could not keep up with my xp900 on whoops and hard core bad terrain.
@@joseflores-sx4qw you mean a 3 ton truck with 360 cameras, AC seats, and adaptive cruise can't handle really bad stuff like an offroad rig only buggy can? I've hit whoops as least 14" high at 60 tho in my stock Rap, so it is no slouch even still.
Sometimes I hesitate to click on a video when I know its going to make me particularly jealous. This was such a video, but I'm glad I watched. :-) amazing truck!

I like the look of that Shelby. I know most people think of the mustang but I like to think of the Shelby edition dodge cars from the 80's and 90's. I had an 89 Daytona Shelby that I loved. I wish I still had it.
Where is Jeremy Clarkson and the old Top Gear crew when you need them......this was a pathetic driving display. You didn't even get it sideways on the dirt Jeep roads....smh
Hoping EverydayDriver could help me understand the setup on the grey Raptor at the beginning of the vehicle. The wheels and tires definitely did not look stock and I was wondering if you could share the details? Thank you!
I love the stock to tuned comparison, and would like to see it as a more recurring theme for your content. May I ask why you never took it off gravel road? With the features you boasted, I was hoping you'd fling it off the road any second
Mohamed Hussein Unlikely a figment issue. There’s several Superchargers available for the coyote f150 which has much more room in every direction compared to a mustang.
Steve Pounder true but the GT500 is a 5.2 liter rather than the coyote 5.0. Not a huge displacement increase but still could possible cause packaging or motor mounting issues.
Mohamed Hussein Heads and blocks ect are interchangeable for this reason. The pick up just simply has more room under the hood in every direction. This is why there’s no twin turbo in the mustang because it won’t fit in the factory configuration. Aftermarket goes up front high or back and low for this reason.
A few years ago I did 100-110km/h on similar terrain, maybe even a bit rougher, in a stock Toyota Hilux. In the South African desert. All day long. I‘d say this doesn’t even use half of the Raptors capabilities 😄
I think that the way these videos are made are very different. In a good way. Both if them alternating their opinion is really helpful for getting the view across even when they oppose each other.
like all the other comments, you guys (EverydayDriver) are amazed by the Raptor driving straight on a dirt road at 25 mph, and then continue to commentate in amazement on the mundane.
@4:25 your worried about it getting scratched and being protected 🤣🤣🤣👎🏼 You in the wrong field. I own a TUNDRA with basic setup I “ME” build NOT dealer. I abused it and still driving it with no problems yeah it has your typical scratches from rocks and car washes I’m not worried. I did not spend 100k 🤣😂🤣 I say get your favorite Brand and build it YOURSELF.
I like the big screen in this one very much. I test drove a raptor the other day and that was my only disappointment.... And it's not as fast as it's reputation would suggest. Still a very nice truck
Great truck, I have two of them, But Ford you should have address and rectified the plastic oil pan leak in all 2017 Raptors. Many Raptor owners are still dealing with this mess.
A no holds barred deep pockets build would be a Ford Raptor first to Hennessey to dump that ecocrap 6 banger in favor of their 5.0 V8 swap upgrade then to Shelby for the dress up package....best of both worlds.
I don’t know if you guys take requests on cars to do but if you do can you guys do the Tonga edition F-150? I’ve seen pictures of them and a video about how it looks but I’ve never seen videos of the performance.
I've always liked the raptor, and the Shelby version looks even better. Couple of problems, though. The V6 ecoboost engine should never have been in the same room with this truck, much less actually put into it. It sounds like an anemic lawnmower and doesn't tow or perform for crap before it starts developing coolant leaks and other problems. It's just junk. They had the perfect engine for this truck, the 6.2 V8. Should've stayed with that. The other problem is the transmission. You're right, the people who buy this truck are car enthusiasts, and most car enthusiasts would puke at the idea of a 10-speed automatic in a vehicle like this. Makes me nauseous just thinking about it. Put a solid manual transmission in there, with a manual transfer case shifter while we're at it, and a Shelby-tuned 6.2 V8 and it would literally be perfect. As it is, it's just not worth the money.
The Raptor is the best off road truck you can buy new. Not cheap ! Shelby does a little improvement like addin 3 inches to the suspension travel . The suspension is the key to off road at higher speed off road. Travel, Shocks, springs and strength. The Raptor travel is 13" front and 13.9" rear on good FOX shocks I personally can not spend 70K or 120K on a vehicle easy. That on a off road truck I would not feel comfortable driving fast over rough in that much money. I have an old full size Bronco I spent some money and a lot of work on. It is not as fancy to take to fine restaurants but nice. New internal balanced and blueprinted 408 AFR heads custom exhaust etc... Built trans and T case, gears, lockers, driveshafts chromoly axles, new performance brakes, all fresh better bearings, seals, u joints hubs and some special upgrades. Glass fenders bedsides and hood. Long travel TTB cut and turned gusseted and plated + some 4x4 with King shocks gives 17-18" front and 18"rear travel. Hi amp alternator for upgraded lights and off road lights a winch and great sound system. Some money probably 30 -40 K for truck and upgrades including a little more planed. A lot of work doing it. To have it done would be way more and I would not have it. What they can do compared to my 5 previous lifted with Ranchos and some upgrades is off the chain amazing. Through 3" whoops at 70 MPH without spilling your drink in control is something I never thought a truck from the 90's and street legal and drives good there too restored like new doing what it can. I get amazed on trips a lot.
A hard packed dirt road with some mud puddles at 25 or 30 mph is hardly considered "Fast Off-roading". I do understanding taking it easy since they don't own the truck though. It is funny to see guys who spend all of their time in a car get in an F150 and think it is so big at only 6000#. Compared to a car, yes that's heavy, compared to useful trucks, 3/4 tons and up, that is pretty light if not average; my F350 weighs 7000# dry. I am trying not to hate on the video too much as it was really entertaining to watch and that Shelby Raptor is awesome!
I built an 87 Bronco and it has more travel on King shocks than the shelby raptor. New engine drivetrain and fenders front rear and hood tires wheels etc.. A lot less than a raptor with same horsepower and torque. New great stereo but not all the electronics just windows and door locks and a Lowrance GPS. Plus lights etc... etc.. Not sure I would do much of the off roading I do in a $117,000.00 truck if I could afford one. I will stick with my Burrow Brah off road surprises happen and fast at speed.

It takes a lot to make a raptor look boring...but you guys did it!
That was the most intense puddle splashing I have ever seen. A toyota carolla could handle that road
my old Daihatsu Charade 1.0 liter 3 cylinder bush basher can go faster than that raptor.

You could and you would destroy the suspension on the 1st day of doing 55 on that dirt road
Toyota Corolla can handle everything
