Heart problems make you tired Patrick and I hope your 100% very soon. I'm enjoying your cooking videos as I too am an ex restaurant person (bartender/event planner/jack of all trades). I do not take the stems out of my mushrooms either. Agree with James about the ribs in the Kale and stems in the Spinach as a no go. Cross contamination @ 9:41 according to food safety class but as Patrick said: He always had somebody else to prep. Thank you Patrick for touching on our food crisis here in America. Free Range Chickens... yes to that absolutely. I'm not happy about any of it either and pray that things will change in 2025. It's nice you two have a sense of humor about the bankruptcy God bless you both.
Awwww. Thank you for your kind words and food knowledge. I violated about 10 cross contamination rules in that video but I was so tired I was hoping nobody would notice. Yes, the food in America is far from healthy. It bothers me a lot because it seems to be an “American thing” for higher profits and more addictive food. Hopefully change is coming with RFK junior coming in. Thank you again for watching and your food knowledge. I hope you are as happy as I am out of the business.
@@PatONeil-r6q I for sure am and actually have PTSD (no joke) from doing it for 20+ years here in DFW. Officially retired in 2023 at 62 as soon as I could. You can still work up to $21,000 too plus all the cash gigs so it was a no brainer for me to be honest. All the seed oil and Crisco crap and GMO corn and wheat and no raw milk or farm fresh eggs is not acceptable. When I lived in Old Destin in the 90s, there was a farmers market in Ft. Walton that sold double yolked eggs and raw milk and such I'd go to all the time. I miss that and the Sexton's seafood house and the boats coming in by Dewey Destin's too... Tuna Dip you should make a video of.
@@Mphscat farmers who have sold their milk to people like us have faced handcuffs. My sister in-law is from a family of 5 generation milk farmers in Wisconsin. A pitcher of milk was always on the kitchen table with the visibly separated milk (from skim-heavy cream). I don’t do dairy too much these days but that would be enough for me to go back. Btw my sister in-law is 64 and both her parents are still alive and eating WHOLE foods (not the grocery store Whole Foods)
Great video, I 'm a podcast producer ex television producer and the way you guys did this is sort of new, most youtube cooking channels go old school on it you made it very conversational and causal love your girl off camera talking to you is great, its always awkward, when the person is talking to the viewer by themselves. This is more of a hybrid of pod and vlog. and instructional. you personal casual vibe is very calming, the tone and quality of your voice really work and your look as well is a casual and carefree good brand. You are dropping gems with your expert background. I know these are high production effort but do these once in a while they are perfect love that she asks the questions we have in our mind. the budget is key under 20 dollars is what got me here.
Man those veggies look so amazing! I simply love fresh veggies. Nice job. Looks amazing. Roasted beets with olive oil and sea salt 😋 And all of our food has changed. We can tell in the obesity epidemic and in the poor health of many. It’s really tragic.
The preparation is the hard part. 😅Anyone can throw it together and add some spice. I’m not trying to tell you your job.😂 I usually wash everything. I would serve that with some wild rice. 👋🏽
Came here to check on Patrick's health status and got another 22 below dinner 🤣🤣 , it's in his blood he says he does not want to do another restaurant but maybe it's in his future .
Yeah I know. I always say I suck with knive skills. I spent most of my career instructing and that’s what happens. I should have spent more time in prep and less time talking. Thanks for watching
@ thx. So I’m going to assume that you think financially it’s better to own than to rent. I know many older people who are financially comfortable prefer to rent in their 70s because they have endured a lifetime of maintenance or paying other people to do, maintenance on a home, and new roof, and all the things that come with homeownership. I thought maybe you thought it was a good financial idea to rent. I think a couple would have to do the math and come to a decision based in part on that.
@@Cp60448 it's not the price i'm pointing out, plastic cutting boards are terrible for you to use, everytime you cut you add micro cuts and get tiny plastics in your food every single time, which is hazardous
Help me on the cutting board ? I’m curious about the comment. I seriously haven’t heard anything negative on plastic cutting boards but do know the wooden boards are back and have been for 20 years. I need some education please
@@PatONeil-r6q from my knowledge which is limited, everytime you cut on the plastic board mic cuts are made leaving behind small traces of plastic which gets in your food, which is obviously not good
I never thought of that. Interesting you said that because I’m a believer plastic is a HUGE problem with health. I focus mostly on temperature with plastic. Notice I don’t use spatulas and never use anything plastic or rubber when cooking under heat. I started on wood 45 years ago and went to the plastic boards because “they” were saying bacteria lives in that wood. I appreciate your insight and you may see a switch in cutting boards very soon
Omg YES !!! It’s horrible. In addition to electric stoves, I’m jockeying for space on that little 4 burner. I’ve said in previous videos that I don’t need more space in my 1,000 sq ft apartment…. I would probably convert my living space into a kitchen. It’s so hard to video and work in this small of a kitchen but I’m making lemonade with my lemons…
Thank you!!! No desire to go back in the restaurant business. I’m too old and I had my day. The business has changed and so have I. I appreciate your comments and support.
Dang; I think he's giving us "pearls" of the industry for free...
It looks delicious! Thanks
Great stuff!! Thanks!

This dish looks so good and healthy - lots of colour! (I would keep him, Mary … 😘). Thanks for sharing - definitely will try it. ❤️🇨🇦
Yeeesss! 😊
Along with the cashews, I would try adding a dash of sesame oil and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes.
Hi, yes! I’m a fan of crushed te pepper, not so much as seed oils.
Great stuff !! ❤
I ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS. GREAT INGREDIENTS ON A BUDGET.
Thank You 🌊🐬🌴
great recipe

👍💡I’m gonna make it gluten free (gf soy sauce, tamari or coconut aminos) and add some garlic and ginger.🧄🫚
Hey Patrick whose knives do you use?
Caveman knives. The best !!!
Patrick watch some videos online about knife skills please.

Mary looks very much like Melania Trump.
Well Thank you! I take that as a compliment! ❤
Patrick how are you feeling?Thank you for the video.
I’m not feeling normal yet but maintaining positive thoughts and waiting for the next phase of repairing this plight. Thank you for caring !!!
Can you share why you prefer to rent an apartment rather than own a home? Thanks.
Probably because he filed bankruptcy?
Hi, yes financially we are not there yet. Maybe one day but we are happy in our cute apartment 😊
you don't own your home or anything else you pay extortion fees to keep ( taxes )

buys all organic but uses a plastic cutting board lol
Hey, I use a plastic cutting board. I can sanitize it in the dishwasher, unlike wooden cutting boards. Glass cutting boards are too slick.
