Re: the high blood pressure. Yes that's dangerously high. People who have blood pressure in the 170s are likely to have a stroke within the next few years. I'm a physician (neurology and critical care). Other than genetics, carbohydrate (not salt) is the most likely culprit for high blood pressure unless you have kidney disease. Salt is not likely the problem, neither is caffeine. Carbs cause insulin to increase which causes the body to hold onto water and salt and thus raise your BP. If you went keto your BP would drop like crazy, I guarantee you. If that's not a sustainable diet for you, you will need to find the right combination of medications. Hypertension is the silent killer and I see it kill folks every day at work. Take it seriously. The good news is you can still eat some tomatoes and avocados on a keto diet, give it a try! It takes about 3-4 days of strict keto for the BP to drop.

You my man, are correct. I’m a retired medical social worker, married to a retired Internist we are both and long time low carb, zero sugar consumers. 99% of our medical, issues are related to SUGAR. The whole medical cult has designed this for money and big Pharma. I’m ingest an. 1/8 of a teaspoon of salt under my tongue every morning to keep my sodium levels up. I tend to run on the low side. Keep educating others and thank you for your medical service to others.

as far as meds go, recommend trying amlodipine first since it has very few side effects and is once per day rather than 2-3 times per day, and is inexpensive. start w/ 5mg daily, can increase to 10mg daily after a month if needed. goal bp < 130/80.

All of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s are carb/sugar addicts because we were told fat was bad and carbs were ok - so we ate bread, cereal, Coke, ice cream and pasta. Now we realize doctors were paid off to lie but we are all still addicted to sugar.

I am relieved that you took the blood pressure medicine. It is good to try to live "naturally," but some conditions cannot be treated naturally. I take two blood pressure pills every day, and it does the trick. My blood pressure is fine now. Cholesterol and blood pressure are the two major factors that can lead to a stroke. Please listen to Mary. Stay on your blood pressure medicine!! Love you both!!

I noticed the same thing when I started watching their videos, that he seemed hyper active. Talking and walking and breathing heavy and pushing that hair back out of his face the entire time. But he’s interesting and smart and I like to hear him talk. He’s got an honest open personality. And on top of it all it’s obvious he talented and could be whatever he wants to be. Sad that he got burned in some his business adventures, but I can see him getting it together again and going out in his golden years a success. Gotta stay on top of the High Blood Pressure, and don’t overdo the workouts because that can keep your blood pressure at elevated levels. Just enough is better. A more relaxed type of exercise is the best. Also bending over and lifting luggage isn’t exactly a good thing. It’s more of an exertion or straining movement and it stresses the heart. Walking, bicycling, swimming, yoga is all perfect for you.

Patrick, salt, primarily sodium, plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure by influencing the balance of fluids in the body. When you consume excess salt, your body retains more water to dilute the sodium in your bloodstream. This increased fluid volume can raise blood pressure by placing extra strain on your blood vessels and heart. Over time, high salt intake is linked to hypertension (high blood pressure), a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes. However, the effect of salt on blood pressure varies among individuals, with some being “salt-sensitive” and more prone to these changes, while others are less affected due to genetic and physiological factors. Reducing salt intake can help lower blood pressure, particularly in those who are salt-sensitive or have hypertension.

If you’re eating three avocados a day I’m sure you’re also eating a ton of other stuff, ie over-consuming. You look good, but you could definitely look better by doing most if not all that recommend. Salt helps you hold water and it regulates your BP.
It's the mega amount salt they use in meat and other foods to preserve it,along with processed foods.
Salt doesn't give you high BP,it's the high protein and fat from things with wings and 4 legs.
Eating avocados is 60% fat,it's healthy fat but wanna eat more starchy foods, like potatoes, beans, per meal.

Best way to take BP is sitting at a table with your arm lying flat on the table and both feet on the ground. To lower it try Intermittent Fasting! Worked for me (and quitting booze which was the number one culprit). But yeah, weight loss is a good way to lower it. And put ground flax seeds in your smoothies! 2 Tbl per smoothie a day or put it on yogurt.

You could have a partial blockage in an upper artery...which results in hbp. Your body is trying to perfuse the brain around a blockage...resulting in a higher BP. Just get an echocardiogram to see quickly if this is happening...otherwise you may stroke. Proteolytic enzymes will help thin the blood and remove calcium deposits...steady usage. Good luck....

Patrick, that salt you showed still has 2/3 of Sodium that "normal" salt has, that big of an intake is surely linked to your extremely high blood pressure. If you don't believe me, reduce your salt intake to half and then keep measuring your blood pressure daily and see what happens in a week.
It's basic chemistry and physics, "Even though sodium is an essential mineral, too much of it can increase your blood pressure. Sodium pulls water into your bloodstream, but if there is too much sodium, it pulls in too much water. The increase in water increases the volume of blood in your blood vessels - more blood equals more pressure. "
Our bodies want to keep a healthy ratio between salt and water, at such a high salt intake like you've shown in the video, one should likely have to drink two gallons or more of water a day to balance it, but that's just not practical to drink so much and go to the bathroom so frequently.
I wish you stay healthy and happy :)
