I love how you can tell the ages of the wood, bricks, nails, and all that. It really gives perspective to what we're looking at which is pretty neat. Glad these buildings are still standing. If those walls could talk. The stories they would tell! It was nice seeing Joy and Norma again.
I grew up in the 40s and 50s, when my father would tear down old buildings, he would save the nails, cut nails which are square nails and round nails. Cut nails were cut not hammer out or forged.
I agree with Joy - the view through the trees was stunning! Georgia is so beautiful. Joy and Norma climbing that gate made me homesick for my Granddad's farm; I climbed those cattle panel gates multiple times a day when I was growing up. Great adventure today!
That’s a awesome find in the woods Robert I would have loved to see something like that and the memories it brings back of my grandparents old house that burned years ago
I love these old abandoned places. I love to hear what they were or used for. A lot of history in these old places. If only the walls could talk. Thank you Robert, Cecil and Joy and Norma.
They really are a couple cool buildings and a really picturesque spot. I'm still marveling at the height of the ceilings and I wonder if your point at end about it being built around what looks like a 2 story(?) original chimney is why the ceilings managed to be so high in there? The buildings just had a really good feeling to them. And shout out to Norma for letting us come (as you said) and also Mr. Gilson who gave us the inspiration to never let a gate stand in our way! Thanks as always, Robert. Love getting to be a part of this!!
Love these old home places, more like home than these houses built now with plastic, staples and glue. Than you for showing us this homeplace. Love your video's 😊
What episode of PARANOMAL CAUGHT ON CAMERA. were they on. If you remember which Season and episode or even the title of the episode. I would like to see it. Thank you
It would be amazing to know about the lives of the people who lived there. What they experienced and felt. You guys are so fortunate to get the opportunity to explore this. You are adding your footprints to the history. Very exciting. Thank-you for sharing with us. Joy, you have the prettiest smile. Love Kate from OZ.
Was anyone in Georgia more graceful climbing a fence than Miss Joy? Always a pleasure to see her gracing Sidestep Adventures. She always brings such order to an otherwise disorganized affair! Did I mention that million dollar smile of hers? Great vid as always...
I love seeing these old houses. I kinda have to agree with you Robert about the house. Parts of it being added on. It makes a lot of sense. My heart skipped a beat when I saw all that beautiful bead board. I feel before this house falls totally to the ground I’d salvage as much bead board as I could. You can’t find them like that ever again. Looks like it’s never even been painted. Beautiful piece of property. Thanks our friend for sharing such an awesome place. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟
I really love hearing the history, love seeing the old houses and barns. I do wish though, since it is being allowed to rot, would it not be OK to allow you, if you want or need it for the OBF, to gather any that is still good and let you buy it, to preserve it? Just asking.
Talk about dedication to the crafting of videos! It was raining on y'all but you didn't let that deterr you! Thanks for another interesting look at life gone by!
My great grandparents and grandparents in Pennsylvania had what was called a summer kitchen. They used it during that time as not to heat up the house.
Awesome video! Very interesting and informative. Kool looking old homestead. Fun to watch you explore them. Great job Robert. Rest of your team were outstanding too. I enjoyed! Thanks
Thank you Robert very interesting, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for taking us on this awesome adventure, these abandoned homes have such historic value. I especially enjoy when you find abandoned Churches deep in the woods. Take care, God Bless.🙏
The house looks bigger on the outside than it is on the inside. You guys are braver about ticks than I am. I get an odd feeling when you show old houses. There is always mystery about the people who lived in them.
Absolutely, as much as I have done this and learned about places such as this - it is just so hard for me to really imagine or picture that this was actually someone’s home, and who they were, what their life was life..
I agree. Here in Kansas driving the back roads you see old abandoned houses out in the fields. Even in small towns that are miles from other towns you wonder what was it like growing up here.
@@alanmoberly64~Wow! That sounds cool. I'm the same way. Imagining who lived there and what their lives were like. Any old, abandoned house is amazing in its own way.❤️
Thank you Norma and Robert for this glimpse into history! I never tire of seeing the remains of what once were friendly, cozy homes for families that loved them. Robert helps us glean every bit of knowledge now possible about the old places. If only the wall remains would tell of the families that had lived within. I was happy to see Cecil and Joy again, although the rain must have subdued Joy just as it did the microphone. But, let’s give our newest co-star more time. Not even the rain and fog can keep fun-loving Joy subdued for long! Can’t wait for the next adventure! Oh! How about an update on Annie, Blue, Cat, and Farm Cat?
1553- Oak? Looks like a big Oak? My gr.father grew up in S Texas as a sharecropper and used to tell me NOTHING was ever wasted. So, easy to see how old parts can be found on a 'newer' building. What a beautiful place!
I know y’all know where Westville is now-Columbus, Ga!! Moved from Lumpkin, Ga a few years ago. Had a whole town set up from cotton mill to small plantation home with garden and kitchen, shoe repair shop, general store, small homes, and courthouse in middle of town, sure I’m forgetting alot, etc!! Key thing was all these old trees!! Used to have a dog trot house too!!
This 2 room house was well built. The local mill was their resource for lumber, I can imagine it as a 1st house, later used as a Tenant Farmer's house. It is a shame it has been left to decay, because it had been well maintained until about 20-25 years ago. Moisture in the South and vegetation quickly overtake a structure. Had it been abandoned more than 30 years it would have been gone by now. If it were in the Nevada Desert, it would be fully stable, the outer layers showing age. There are a number of structures in Nevada that could be restored from the 1880's. The key is "keep the roof secure" and it will remain 3 times or more longer. A neat share!
Oh my goodness! I'd never want to be filmed climbing a fence! Embarrassing!😄 Joy and Norma did an exceptional job getting up and over. I give them many kudos!🏆✨🏆 Also, for not getting on Robert for filming them climbing!😉

I always wonder how the house was furnished. How many people lived in it , what did they do all day , and so forth . Very interesting place .

I really enjoy seeing the old houses. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
I really want to see the waterfall now. I love stuff like that.. PLease show... Wonder if there's a cemetery on the property
Neat old place. Whatever was originally there they picked a nice spot for a house.😊Luv from Ky.
Thank you cousin Norma. Always something new to learn. It's a very pretty area.

Very interesting as always. It was nice for the lady to show you the property.
Love when Robert gets video of the underneath the houses
Enjoyed, reminded me of my ggrandparents.
Really cool old place, bit spooky looking!
I love how the houses were made back then the houses were tall on the inside and on the outside they don't make them like that anymore.🏠💙❤️🥰👍

I kept expecting to see either a baby buzzard or a not so baby snake! Interesting old house and kitchen.❤

Thank you so much Robert and everyone for the great video. So interesting to see these old homesteads and hear the history.

Very Interesting! I love old houses!
Such amazing history! Robert are any of the old farm structures you have visited ever dismantled and the wood reclaimed?
Interesting. Thank you, Robert and friends

This amazing old house if the walls could talk what would till us ❤
My thoughts exactly.🥰
Awesome video! Very interesting and informative. Kool looking old homestead. Fun to watch you explore them.
Great job Robert. Rest of your team were outstanding too. I enjoyed! Thanks
The house is collapsing. It’s a shame no one is salvaging the wood before it completely rots.
Very very cool.. Thank you

Great observation on the chimney. I'm willing to bet there was another house before this one.
Very kool!

With the shape of the house and small building. Maybe salvage the wood and brick for the project later on.
It's a pity no one kept it up being it didn't cost them anything, good have been used for many things

you need to get Joy in more of your videos, she ain't afraid of nuthin! Take her to the place where you and Dan heard the ghost walking.
Any possibility that a grant could be written for conservation.
Ditto spot on Sir Robert re tall chimmey & older bricks
Folks, use that beadboard. Don't let everything rot.
Nothing like when you first came to your home. This one is clean of weeds and such yours. You couldn't see the house
Yup
Professionals carry extra Umbrellas ha ha. That was a cool house. I guess the old backwoods houses went from 2 rooms to 4?
Our smoke house had no windo😮why do you aways think it can't be that old always think pieces ccamme from used 😊
This house is old bricks and nail the other wood was put there to keep trespassers out
I got a box of nails but that older lady wins easy!
I'd call it common sense, , it doubles heat radiation for 2 families
It's a shame it's in such a state
💞
Robert, what's wrong with you man. C'mon you should've been helping those girls over the gate. Loved the videp
Country girls don't need any help climbing over a gate😂
From a Ky farm girl
the bricks have been recyled some have soot on the outside 15.53
It's ashame it got into this shape someone took all the fireplaces
👍👍👍😎☕
Y'all getting rain 🌧
😊❤
😎👌👍✌
They do realize they could've just walked around that gate, right?😅
Filming climbing fences. Hoping for America’s funniest home videos?
Oh my goodness! I'd never want to be filmed climbing a fence! Embarrassing!😄
Joy and Norma did an exceptional job getting up and over. I give them many kudos!🏆✨🏆
Also, for not getting on Robert for filming them climbing!😉
whose this new tall dark haired lady
family-wife-girlfriend ???
It is not his wife!!! I reckon he will rename his show soon to: Joy and Robert in the Woods.
