The substance is not the problem, trauma is the cause of addiction and the reason it's hard for so many to stay clean and sober.
@@marieknight9385 YES and NO. Absolutely some people use alcohol to cope. And others just like to drink. However, you can twist it as much as you’d like to justify your addiction.
@@nolansmokes I didn't say anything about having an addiction, and I have been working with the recovery community long enough to know the difference between trauma and chemical dependency, you have no idea what work I've done or what I know.

Some things Dr. Phil does I do not agree with. You don't get to put words into your guest's mouth. She in fact, did not say what you said she said. So if you don't want people to insult your intelligence, maybe don't put words in their mouth? 🤷♀

Dr. Phil is of the impression that raising your voice and humiliating people on national TV is an effective means of course correcting bad behavior. Coming from someone who doesn't even have a license to practice clinical psychology, and and a narcissistic ego the size of a mountain, I find it ironic that he called out the woman for doing what he does on every episode, which is subtlely degrading another... Just my 2 cents

I definitely agree with you that Dr Phil, has an ego but it's not really fair to bring up him not having a license to try and knock his credibility when he does have a PhD and held a license in two states for roughly 20 years.
As someone who grew up with a mother like this mother... talking to someone like that kindly or with a low voice makes them believe they are superior to or correct in anything they say. One must place dominance over them for them to see they can not be manipulated because they are used to taking away other people's voices. At least that's what my fully qualified psychatrist and psychologist have said. As long as you don't do it with name calling or anything similar. And hot damn it worked for me. :: shrugs :: Everyone has to be treated differently. Now... sometimes Dr Phil yells at people who are in pain or who are desperate for help in a horrible manner that wouldn't help at all. At those times Dr Phil is definitely being a POS
