Had that exact bike and it was an animal switched to the 07 gsxr1000 and never looked back. I put 40k on the 04 and 50k on the 07 problem free...oil changes only tires and brakes. Both were tuned with power commander and yoshimura exhaust..

Christopher Average the bikes started to increase in weight while hp numbers stayed the same for the most part. Of course that all changed when the newest mode came out (the 2017 gsxr 1000) the newest one is the most powerful gsxr ever built, granted idk if its as good as the k5 but ive only ridden the 17 model not the 05 and it its soberingly fast lol

95mph 1st gear and about 185mph top speed
A 07 gsxr 1000 can do over 150km in first, you ever watch those bmw speed runs where the clock doesn't register their speed after 299km
You sold a 1990 GSXR 1000? It must have been VERY special considering Suzuki NEVER made Gixxer 1000 bike in the 90's, only a 750 and 1100.
Clearly means an 1100. Then again, the 1000 is derived from the 750, not the 1100.
