thought it was interesting he didn't change the oil from the get-go.
@@Sahadi420 this was exactly my issue with the video. He kept running and test driving with 2 y/o oil in the bike. or he didnt show the change

Dude that sold him the bike punching the air right now

😂😂😂
Depends on how many miles are on it... It needs brakes, wheel bearings & seat that we know of, tires are 3/4 worn and/or dry rotted. He already bought a battery & fuel pump for it (it might also be due for a new clutch, stator, chain, sprocket,etc..soon) and is scratched up/dented gas tank from being dropped.... If it has say 50,000 miles, it's not really worth more than what he paid for it. His profit will be made from doing the DIY repairs/labor which will make the bike worth a bit more money....You can buy an 04 GSXR 600 or 750 in very good condition with 18,000 miles for $3,000 I just seen a really nice one for sale Marathon FL asking $3,400 for it. It comes with a couple bike covers, security chain, helmet, gloves, jacket and lots of new parts. I highly doubt the seller is "punching air" right now

I bought a non running 03 sv650 awhile back for $700 and had to put in a fuel pump from your gen gsxr actually. It wasn’t always fun to work on but it was a blast to ride once it was roadworthy
This was a very informational video. I am currently working on a bike I got for $200 (2007 ZZR600) and I tried these things and its running so well. I want to thank you for making this. 10/10 Subscribed.
Glad it helped! Thanks for subscribing
Damn, $200 for any bike, even one with a seized motor is a hell of a bargain! Great buy for a not-that-old bike. You can't get a death trap Honda ATC 3-wheeler these days

I bought a 2000 Bandit 600S for $900, got a carb rebuild kit for 60 bucks and now it runs perfectly and its in great condition.
That’s awesome!
Definitely sounds like it's holding back, I've had two gsxr's now and both when u get on the throttle it should be off down the road, but yours seems really hesitant. Great find tho and liking the fault finding 👌👍
Probably had bad injectors or just one.
Clogged injectors easy fix
@@sleepylipscomb7910 how do you fix clogged injectors? Does Seafoam work, or do you have to clean them out like carbs?
@@cesartapia610 depends on the level. sea foam often works, but if they’re really bad you’ll have to replace them. which is way easier on a bike than a car
So you bought a new battery, a fuel pump and several fuses for less than $50?

I noticed that too. I think he has major problems that are going to be major $$$. A 2004 must have 60k miles on it at least...he never mentioned the miles.
The bike has 17k miles, the lack of throttle response was a STVA malfunction causing it to starve for oxygen. I showed the fix in part 2 and got it running correctly
Exactly. i don't expect being honest from any youtuber but still.
@@LIFEBUILDZchannel Wish you well on your repairs. I bought a 05 gxsr 600 with exact same issues. Rear brake and power delivery due to faulty secondary throttle valve actuator

Haha, you got it!
Surprised to see bikes like this in such good condition for being over 20 years old. When I bought my 02 f4i it sat for around 20 months and nearly every hose to fuel to vacuums was dry rotted. Every time I fixed a problem I would have 2 days of enjoyment then run into the next
Congrats on the steal lol. You should see mine. I bought an 05 gsxr 600 that was sitting for 8 years in a garage. Long story short it had 862 miles on it. I did all of the basic maintenance, and the things you ended up doing. Got it running and then i gave it a makeover. It currently has over 5400 miles on it. Was going to flip it but i love it and i only paid $1750 for it.
Dang that is a steal! Way to go! I understand the flip thing, it’s hard to sell cool projects!
I been looking for a 600 on fb marketplace and the algorithm bought me here, now I'ma new sub 😅 Im learning as much as I can to be able to fix most of the problems of my future bike 🤣
I’m surprised you don’t change oil and clean the air filter from the starts. After 2y not running it would be good health check
Loved the big kid smile when you got it running! Good job! 🤩🤩
Thanks! I was pretty excited!
The rough running after you started it is normal, fuel map has not been adjusted to suit the aftermarket can, mine is exactly the same with the Akraprovic can it has, which BTW is the exact same bike as yours, 2004 orange/black 600, over here in Scotland, i'm lucky my bike is in good condition though. Old Suzuki's are pretty bombproof.
Thats good to know! Ill keep that in mind for the next one!
Dude that's so awesome! If I could only have a half of brain when it comes to mechanics, quick story;wanted a bike my whole life,me and wife put down about 2grand for a BMW k1200,well it was obvious that I was gonna have to pay to get it fixed,I paid a guy 1700$to fix it,he beat me for the 1700 and didn't do 1 thing on the bike except whatever he did to make it run for a day and went right back to not running bit after 2000$for it and 1700$ basically stole off us,Guess that's it for the bike life..Lol Ahh what goes around comes around 🙏Godbless
Shoot man, sorry to hear that! Do you still have the bike? Sometimes it’s a simple fix that is overlooked by many people
might wanna look into the fact that your secondary throttle valves didnt prime correctly at 6:44 they should open all the way and stay open until you start riding, they shouldnt be shut when the bike is in nutral.
Pro Tip: Electric Leaf Blower to get the water off after wash.
Is the stva bad? Sounds lean at low rpm and that’s a common failure on the 04 and 05 600 and 750
Great video. Your channel will hit 100k easy guys like this. I'm taking the word stoked back to the hood
I appreciate the support! 100k would be awesome!
Hey, I noticed your FI light was on. That may be the C28 code for STVA. You may have to re solder that to get it right. It is a known failure but easy to fix. You have to take the piece off, remove the rivets and re-solder the connection and it will be good for another 20k miles. The natural vibrations of the bike cause the solder to break. It effects the butterflies which is why you were limited in range. It also effects the idle as well.
Man do I wish I had gotten this comment a few weeks ago. Last weekend I checked the f1 Light and it was c28. I manually opened the butterflies to test it and it ran like new!
@@LIFEBUILDZchannel yes what happens is sometimes it good in one spot but as the bike vibrates the solder weakens and it triggers the code. Look up 05 gsxr 600 stva fix. They will show you step by step how to do it. It will keep doing that until you resolder it

It's funny cause I had same experience and some guy thought his gsxr was no good I bought it and had it running In A week new pump new tank rectafier and stator now it runs like a champ..
I just restored a 2003 GSXR 1000 and the fuel pump fuse keep blowing out due to clogged fuel pump I cleaned it out clean the gas tank with metal rescue and replace the fuel pump filter and it runs beautiful now
Thats good to know on the next one, I tried applying 12v directly to the pump after I cleaned it but it was dead so I ended up replacing it
I owned that same bike from 05 till this year and had to fix the STVA at least 3 times. Fixed it one last time before I sold the bike last month. This is a very good bike and very reliable, that was the only consistent flaw on the bike.
Ive got the same bike and had to fix mine twice aswell within 8k miles
You delete the secondary butteryflys by removing the screws and pulling the battery flys out. All those butterflies do is at like a choke when cold
Bike was sitting idle for 2 years.. A quick oil change will make it sing well I guess.. 🙂. Good job on the fuel pump👍🏻
Why didn't you check the pumps resistance with your multimeter and calculate the amperage at 12V to see if it's over the fuses rating instead of blowing fuses?
Cool video I enjoyed watching all the steps. My 07 GSXR 600 was idling high like that too. A shop tuned it for me and it’s been good since. Nice job figuring it out 👍🏻- Amy

@@LIFEBUILDZchannel Awesome man! The reason I ask is just because I'm trying to learn how to fix my dad's old bike since he gave it to me as a graduation gift. It's a suzuki boulevard m50 and won't start like this gsxr.
@@taradikoff123 Thats awesome man, id assume that bike is carberated so you might want to try cleaning the carb. If its fuel injected, check all the things I did in this video and you should be able to get it running!
@@LIFEBUILDZchannel it seems as though it is carberated from research that I’ve done. I plan on attempting to clean it and hope that fixes the problem. Though, I’m not entirely sure how to tell if it is fuel injected or not. The main problem right now is just that not many people ride Suzuki boulevards so tips are relatively scarce
@@taradikoff123 Well the best way I've found to know if its fuel injected or carbed is a google search with the exact year/model then say something like fuel injected? if that doesn't work you can always call a dealership and ask to speak to the service center, then ask them
Good deal brother! When you took a ride tested it sounds like getting choking when you open all throttle...I believe you need to clean the fuel injectors
Yes it was definitely struggling, I ended up cleaning the injectors and it didn't help but I found out that the STVA was malfunctioning causing the bike to starve for oxygen. I was able to fix it in part 2
@@LIFEBUILDZchannel oh awesome I would like to watch the part 2
Make the most of YT’s algorithm. The YT Gods have shined down on you. I know nothing about bikes but I always liked Gixxers, I watched this all the way to the end. #subbed 👍

if the pump has rusted the tank is prob flaking bad which will stuff the pump pick up. injectors need a clean out as well as the lines and rail. riding her in that condition is cooking the engine. seriously lean fuel , most prob the filter is already blocked with rust. watch the seals on the front and rear suspension and brakes. still a fun project might break even.
The black high pressure filter with pressure regulator is in need of changing thats why it didn’t rev up past 8k

This was a steel man!!! Damn good find. I only have one question. WTF DOES A FRONT FENDER ELIMINATOR KIT LOOK LIKE. I’ve never heard of a front fender eliminator kit. Only a fender eliminator kit. And it has always only been the rear fender that holds the plate. The only plate that bikes have. On the rear fender. Where the eliminator kit comes into play. To delete or ELIMINATE the fender that holds the plate. The fender that comes stock on bikes. That comes stock on the rear of the bike. That most of us eliminate for looks. Hence, fender eliminator kit. Never once referred to it as a REAR FENDER ELIMINATOR. Because that would imply that there are other fenders that are able to be eliminated. So yeah. DAMN GOOD FIND!! BUT WTF IS A FRONT FENDER ELIMINATOR KIT? There is only one fender on bikes, and that is the fender that comes stock on the rear end of the bikes that hold the license plate. That is also why they only give you one plate for your bike at the DMV. BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY ONE FENDER THAT BIKES COME STOCK WITH AND ITS LOCATED ON THE REAR OF THE BIKE!!! Where the fender eliminator kit comes into play. To get rid of that ugly fender that comes stock on most bikes, if not all. As you can tell, this is one of my pet peeves. Information sent out to the next generation of riders must be fact checked!! Or you become responsible for the younger generation becoming stupid and ignorant!! Bikes only have ONE STOCK FENDER, located on the REAR of the bike. It’s ugly and unsightly. So most of us delete or ELIMINATE it with a FENDER ELIMINATOR KIT. THERE ARE NO FRONT FENDER ELIMINATOR KITS FOR THESE BIKES, BECAUSE THEY DONT REQUIRE THEM. Please clear this up so I can go on thinking that you are an awesome dude that just made a little mistake and don’t actually think that there are front fender eliminator kits out there!!😂 HAVING SAID ALL THAT!!! THIS IS A DAMN GOOD FIND AND I HOPE YOU FLIPPED THE HELL OUT OF IT AND MADE SOME GOOD MONEY!! Even if they used a “FRONT FENDER ELIMINATOR KIT”. 😂😂😂😂

I appreciate the suggestion, I had stumbled upon that when reading forums and when I looked deeper I was pretty sure that was the issue. The sound of that exhaust 😍😍😍😍😱😍😍😍😍
the bike sounds like that because it has an exhaust and its still cold thats why it's smooths out after a few min when the bike is warm, and never buy a bike without checking the rust in the tank because it'll mess up ur fuel pump and injectors and clog a bunch if stuff, and please be cautious of that oil light, the bike been sitting for 2 years, shoulda changed the oil as soon as u got it, check the SVTA or the air pressure sensor if it still doesn't pass above 8k rpm, could also be because rust in injectors but for 1200 not bad I guess
