    Used to collect and paint long time ago but after my injury I can’t sit down for long without being in pain. So now I just watch and this video was quite satisfying. Well done.

      Hey there mate. Sorry to hear you are dealing with that. I too have chronic pain from and injury. Lumbar region. I can finally sit in a chair for a short period of time. About an hour tops. The rest of the time when painting I stand. With many breaks and stretches and exercises in between. Sometimes leaning back on a high stool. When legs get tired. I also walk the dogs for a good while before hand and go on the treadmill for short bursts in between standing and painting. Buying a sit stand desk with an electric motor to change heights. Bought it fairly cheap in a sale.
      I’ve seen other people using one of those cushioned tables people use to eat while leaning back to paint while reclining.
      Anyways. You probably already know these things but thought I’d share. Hope you are doing ok and can get some time without being in too much pain. Take care.

    I am fascinated by the number of different recipes for Ork flesh, non of which follow mine. Obviously on one combination is right or wrong but it is fun to see. My recipe is from the 90's when I started Orks. Dark Angels Green over jet black primer. Then Emerald Green followed by Snot Green. Naturally those colours have new names now but the only difference between then and now is thinning the paints which I learned about in the late 90's and of course use of a wash.

    what brush are you using for the edge highlights?

    • @TooMiniModels
      @TooMiniModels  3 роки тому +3

      I am using an old Eavy Metal Standard brush that came out about 5-6 years ago. A good alternative would be Winsor & Newton Series 7 (not the miniature series of Winsor & Newton brushes - thats for tiny canvases). Any high quality kolinski sable round brush about size 1 or 2 would work.

    Hi Dude, this is an insane paintjob. I love it! May can i ask you a question? Why you put the waaagh flesh on the base? Did this something to the color of the camo layer? May i can start with several camo layer?
    Ty for your nice work ❤

    • @TooMiniModels
      @TooMiniModels  Місяць тому +1

      @@roberte1236 I use the Waaagh flesh for a base coat and then over and camo over. But you can start with ogryn camo but it might take some more coats. I do this because the first is a base pain and the second is a layer paint.

    great video. i'm working on my first few orks right now. new to painting mini's and I am having trouble with getting the right amount of paint on my brush for doing the highlights and I mess them up constantly. I can't figure out how much thin to make the pain and also how much to have on the brush. i'm sure eventually i'll get it but its frustrating :(

    2:24 Do you mean Krieg Khaki? Or what-camo?

  • @imagecollections6665
    @imagecollections6665 2 роки тому +1

    Why do you use paints & then totally cover them up? Couldn't you skip the darkest green layer & go straight to ogryn cammo? I like how you use Nuln oil in the recesses on this.

    • @TooMiniModels
      @TooMiniModels  2 роки тому +2

      I do that because Ogryn Camo is a layer paint and a fairly light color. The Waaagh Flesh is a base color and has better opacity so acts as a foundation for the Ogryn Camo.

    Did you paint all your Ork boyz in the same Colour or did you mix the colours from time to time to get some variations?

    • @TooMiniModels
      @TooMiniModels  2 роки тому

      I painted most of my Orks in Warboss green, for some of the shoota Boyz, I experimented with the more yellow green on the box art for the new boyz. I think I like Warboss green a bit better for most of my Orks, I think it just reads more as 'ard as nails and reads as more "Ork green" to me. Thanks for asking.

    • @TooMiniModels
      @TooMiniModels  2 роки тому +2

      @@grimaldushelbrecht8811 The uniforms, I like to think of them as vests and tousers, I paint almost all of them in Abaddon Black. This saves a lot of time because it goes on easily over black primer and I don't need to shade it. This is also the color scheme of the Goffs, that and black armor. So alot of black and checker patterns.

      I use palette paper and apply the paint from the pot to the paper. I then water it down with water to thin it down. Applying thin paint in multiple layers should do the trick.
