it's literally why I never hosted games. too easy to end up rolling alone, or with just one other dude desperately trying to win. Those still can be a lot of fun tho.
The failures going on with these Major orders I truly feel are related to having incomplete information inside the game. The fact that people need to go to a 3rd party site like helldivers companion to see exactly what is going on with the Major Orders is going to keep biting us time and time again.

HD2 playerbase need to wake up from the hopeful dream that there's so much more coming, especially any time soon. HD2 should have been sold as an early access game.
I mean yeah, but to be honest we’ve been winning for too long. The orders have been pretty easy so I’ll take the challenge. We didn’t always win in the first war. In fact sometimes we lushed into territory and lost it 3 times before full liberation
People are fleeing the planets. Not a single living space, or city has ever been shown on one of these planets. Make us new biomes. It shouldn't be so empty out there.
While I agree, I seriously doubt there's gonna be any buildings nearby a massive nuclear missile silo, research station, or really any of the hotspots we hit in game. Plus the small map size compared to the average city means there's a shit ton of empty space logically
There might only be a couple million people (civilians) on a given planet at a time, which is like the city of Toronto or Las Vegas in terms of population. I would absolutely like to see more changes to the biomes, and more biomes in general. As far as story is concerned, the populace might only look like the towns and farms from Halo: Reach (not that big/dense), if you ever played that.
In HD 1 planetory defense missions took place in city biomes. I think we will see things like that in the future - the question is just: how far in the future it will be... HD1 got support and new content over the course of several years. Hopefully, we will see the same in HD2.
What we need to do to help incentivize people to focus the MO is to give more Rewards to make it worth to actually take part of it. A lot of people are already sitting on Medals, and giving more varied rewards like Super Credits, armours that come through the Superstore, and Samples would make the community feel more unified in Future MO’s.
Definitely samples, they’re a pain to get. Maybe super credits for big major order and enough to get a war bond or half the price of a war bond, any less and it would be worthless with how many people can farm.
We're getting a whole space station that offers clans and something to spend our stored requisition on and we probably getting more ship modules when we get the station If they don't wanna help with the MO so unlock that then they don't wanna help The rest of us divers need to come together as one and attack/defend as one
@phantomzero906 Samples are trivial to get even in lower difficulties. We need things to spend in game currencies on, not more currencies we can't use.
The Barrager Tank should be a top priority instead of medium priority. If you're not using thermites, specific strats, or specific support weapons, then they are unkillable, which limits your loadout options the higher the difficulty.
Barrage tank are fine If you dive in 8-9-10 get ready to face it and prepare you loadout in circumstance stop blaming the game for your lack of anticipation. Stop nerfing everything in that god damn game
They've done this before. Defense focused MOs that we are almost surely not meant to win as it amounts to 'get hit by two planet defenses a day for a week and win both instead of just one at least a couple times'.

It feels like AH intends us to lose this one, given the Terminid reinforcement rates. There aren't enough active players now to make this one viable for success.
It's doable, but we have thousands sitting on a planet that is going to lose the defence instead of reinforcing the one that still has a chance to win so that we get 2/3. It isn't that people aren't incentivised to do MO either. They really just don't care. Basically if there were cutscenes in this game they'd be skipping it and not reading anything.
From a friend who works at Microsoft: Xbox requires all games to be able to run on Series S and X. Helldivers 2 graphics won't run on S. The port isn't on Sony or Arrowhead. It's on Microsoft
9:10 on the bot side, they were NOT fine, i run mostly 7/8 because chill. But they spawned 3 factory striders on top of us, not fun. edit: oh ok, you mentioned it^^
Even on 6 which i usually run we on one mission had 7 drop ships releasing things on us during the flag mission. they were so many in the same spot they did weird collision glitches.
@@Bloddrake I once even LOST difficulty 6 mission because of this, being unable to complete and running out of reinforcments. It was with jet brigade, but the number of dropships was insane there.
they were manageable/"rewarding" if you were playing with friends or people that are not braindead and dont just start the objective the second they get there without atleast just cleaning first. if im not playing with atleast one friend i dont even try to do 10 and go to mainly 8 like you to chill. like 2 days ago i was playing with a friend and both of us were using the recoilless with one loading. the other 2 were quasar/ammopack and i think grenadier/ammopack. we did the first 2 objectives with relative ease because we prepared by having atleast 2 sentries and calling supplies. the quasar guy understood the plan and waited for everything to set up but in the last objective the grenadier immediately started it with a factory close and well we got our asses kicked. the grenadier left after dying like 11 times and somehow we managed to clear and extract
@@friskscipio didn't say we failed, got our butts handed to us the first attempt. The RR + team reload + supplies nearby does the trick just fine. It's just you don't expect that at that difficulty.
I feel like the major orders ramping up in difficulty could be a narrative choice like we aren’t supposed to win so that some huge story event can happen
Well, we did obliterate the bots so hard that they were erased... When it was more clearly the harder fraction at the time... So they put up a giant fog fense in the bug section to stop us from permanently wiping the bugs off the map while they ramp up the difficulty of bots.
@@Mercer2003 Estanu is a 450k strength attack. Erata and Fenrir are 500k. These are weaker then the first two attacks which were 800k. We can clear two of these easy if we jump them now.
Been diving for over 700 hrs folks, and I’ve seen this game go through drama that was previously unseen in the gaming world. I’ve also seen an amazing community develop with a true admiration for this game.
Crossovers are best done as "wink wink" or tongue in cheek. Like the Gas warbond is a perfect wink wink to The Death Korps of Krieg. Not on the nose and not so far off no one gets the reference. The Doubt Killer armor, juuuust close enough to Jin Roh without it being a straight copyright stike.
Foggy planets with a lot of nursing spewers (the bloatd orange bugs) is a nightmare. In a game where you have absolutely no way to get better vision like a highlight of enemies or a game mechanic that clears fog it's horrible to have any typr of vision impairment combinations like that.
I dont think they should add any crossovers. The game is already a parody of a lot of sci fi movies and games and i think if they did a crossover with alien for example id want them to create their own version of alien that fits into the theme of the world but they could make it clearly inspired by alien. Similar to how the bots are already inspired by terminator. I want the game to be cohesive adding any other ip imo dilutes the original aesthetic…
To be honest: I don´t want any crossovers for Helldivers. As much as I enjoy purging Heretics and crushing Nurgle beasts - there are other games for that. We are fighting for managed Democracy and enforce the peace with liberty pellets from our freedom dispensers. And after our 10 years of conscription (with optional mandatory extensions of time) we return home, hang our Constitution Rifles to the wall in our moderately sized homes, fill out Form CP-01 and celebrate every 26th of October. Helldivers is unique and should not get watered down and mixed with other universes. Expand the game, use elements you like from other IPs and integrate them into it. But for gods sake: Please! No Khorne Berzerkers, no Xenomorphs, no Predators and - most important - NO BUNNY EAR HELMETS!
TBH I trust AH on that front. They are smart enough to do stuff like this properly. At most it may just be a few Easter eggs and new armor set saying it is from a sponsor: I dunno, The Interplanetary Mining Company, a sent package that is beyond the outer regions of the galaxy. It would still keep in universe and we won’t have to interact with them. I think it can work however that is how I would do it. To prove my point 12:08, Pilestedt agreed with you that he doesn’t want the IP to get watered down. So I truly believe that they can pull off a crossover without over doing it.

Unpopular opinion. I hate fighting bugs. They are unfun, frustrating, and annoying to fight, but I must fight them for Super Earth. Never say never, fellow Helldivers.
It’s the hunters for me I’m holding extraction or a defense type mission and all of the sudden I’m surrounded by those liberty forsaken hunters and I can’t do anything
@@troypowers750 You want arc weapons for flinch. Gas weapons will send them skittering in random directions since they can't actually track you. Flame is just raw DPS. Don't bother using flame on bots. They have a natural resistance to it.
@@troypowers750 Nothing reacts to the flames. I can't find something that I know doesn't exist on ANYTHING annoying. Seriously, learn the mechanics. You want flinch? Use an Arc weapon. They're actually really powerful. Don't want to get spat on by a spewer? Hit them with a Blitzer. They WILL choke and not spew on you. Hell, use a Pummeler SMG. It may not do much damage but it causes both flinch AND stagger.
you're a hero. genuinely the only person I've seen who agrees that not every game needs crossovers... especially ones with fully developed worlds like Helldivers
I agreed...until I heard Johan say how it would work. His example was a mission where you fight Necrons and Astra Militarum with lore weapons. It would just be something extra on the side. There is no interference with HD universe. But crossovers in general suck.

2:54 we don't need more divers, what we need is for the 2000 to a thousand players on random planets to come together and actually do the MO. Because currently we have about 6,000 players on random planets that aren't contributing to anything

It's crazy when you think about the fact these gaming magazines are making articles like what's going on in the Helldivers campaign is actually happening. Adds another layer to the immersion.
This is a video game. it doesn’t have to be and is not realistic. While it can be boring to always win, spending over two weeks losing is also very boring.
My take away on the "not winnable" it just means Joel will make sure it isn't winnable despite our efforts, with that said it just means when you see it your time is better spent on something "winnable"
Well your take is wrong because the devs have confirmed it on more than one occasion that the MO's are not set up to be won or lost and it's on us. Some are easier than others, but they don't have a set in stone 'we're going to make them lose this MO and win the next two' type deal.
@@Externalerror my take on this will be different than yours or another. but the gave dev's do have control over the numbers set in digital stone at the time for a target amount. to say other wise is to deny how the game works. but i digress as options are like bug holes and there are many of them.
It's not "regen rate" with defense. Esker and Socorro III had 800k HP that we had to win within 24 hours (the enemy bar is just a flat 24 hour timer). The current THREE defense missions have 500k, 500k, and 450k (Estanu). We MIGHT be able to get 2 of them down, it'll be tough but it's within the realm of possibility to hit 1m total in 1 day. 1.6m is kind of off the table.
For anyone thinking about volunteering any family memebers, to help with the construction of the DSS, a word of warning. I worked on the exterior shell of the DSS, for what was suppose to be a 3-month work assignment . It ended up being a 7-1/2 month work assignment, due to shortages in the labor force. Most of the shortages were caused by injuries, fatalities, and personnel considered, missing in construction. Most injuries are handled with expired stims, which can cause internal bleeding and death. It's also true, there are no bathrooms on the developing DSS. We are all issued diapers, as it's considered too expensive, and dangerous, to go on a bathroom break, while out in space, or while living within the confines of the inflatable sleeping quarters. One positive is, we have plenty of freeze-dried food stuffs to eat.
I’m wondering when we will get a new intro to the game. We have the basic “recruitment video” with divers bringing democracy to some bugs, but I want to see an alternate recruitment video encouraging new enlistment in the fight of the automatons. Not only would it break up the monotonous intro video, but also give new drivers a more in depth look at what it means to “be free” I think it’s a great idea to give us already enlisted drivers renewed vigor as well as encourage others to download and enlist in service by releasing its new advertising campaign on local super earth broadcast networks to help drive up recruitment numbers! Glory to super earth!
What I'd love to see is a Galactic Map Expansion that sees one of the new bug planets right on the very outside edge be called "Hoxxes III." It'd be a cute little DRG reference, without actually adding anything from DRG in.
After one or two missions, my game always changes my lobbies to private. It still shows as public but only allows my friends to join. I always have to restart my game after every other mission just to make sure randoms can keep joining me. Hopefully that is fixed with the SOS beacon fixes since I was throwing them down each time. Perhaps that was what caused it? I’ll find out tonight 🤷🏼♂️
I'd say at least 20% of those are mine, sorry, the button presses are one away from reinforce so nearly every game I put one down in my private squad when i wanted to reinforce. I wish you could just take it out of the list so i'd be less likely to throw it thinking i've done a good thing!
There is no regen rate for defense campaigns. It's a set value, the "rate" is just where you should be to complete the defense on time. This was a huge invasion hence why it was slow filling
I’m definitely for a Deep rock Galactic crossover, they almost have the same type of enemies HD2 has and I love playing both so it would be awesome for democracy and Karl
The real reason why we lose these kinds of MO, is because in between a third and half of the Helldivers are made useless by high command not giving all necessary information to optimize our deployment.
Sometimes articles like the one you referenced from GanesRadar seem to be written not by people who actually play the game, but rather by people who skim through a bunch of other articles looking for buzzwords and attention-grabbing phrases to inject a little drama into what is - at least for Helldivers 2 players - a fairly normal event.
what they should look into, is a Napalm flamer, with the look of like the m2 flamer with the big tanks and stuff, hits harder but is more dangerous to use.
I'd honestly love ANY of those crossovers, the amount of armor options for Star Wars alone is pretty extensive and having Clone Commando armor as an option for heavy armor sounds very enticing.
This wild concept called playing and enjoying a product they paid for rather than letting shit devs and an even worse "community" dictate how they enjoy thier purchase. Imagine that.

Hard disagree my G, it's so heavily inspired from Starship Troopers but manages to be it's own world. Plus ST just got a game so I really don't think they'd want to collaborate. It's just too similar, Fifth Element is such a weird crossover that I now actually think I want to see it.
Between Swedish Christmas and the 60 day plan, we have spent like three months in a holding pattern narratively. I don't think they know where they're going with the story.
Feel like the next step for them is with the gloom, and as soon as they figure out an efficient way of implementing new enemies, we'll see a massive bug expansion operation and maybe truly new enemy types not from HD1.
I never have a clue what to do so just land anywhere, I don't have time to understand the tides of war at 8pm, I just understand creating endless minefields

An alien crossover I think would work the best because you could just say that it’s the xenomorphs just in a different time period away from the movies
Raising the flag was completely doable. You just had to have 2 or 3 guys shooting the dropships with recoilless rifles and deny the drop area with 120 and/or 380 mm artillery strikes when the troops inevitably land. Keep 50 meters to the artillery strikes and also have a few sentries in good positions.
If I had to pick one cross over for helldivers it would easily be Star Wars! Imagine a clone trooper or mandorian armed set or a star destroyer skin for your super destroyer, Hell they could even make it an option to change the DSS to the Death Star in the settings or something!
Biggest puzzle piece missing with the game rn is the "gamification" of the galactic map. Right now the map is just a placeholder for an actual game-its run using a game master sure-but imagine this was a single player game: what would you expect from a galactic war campaign? We would expect the game to run ITSELF- not just be based on vibes. As players we have no way to strategize beyond "defend this spot" and even attacking is SO fractional that we can't feel like we are making a difference.
If it wasn't for those useless fuck that's go to whatever planet they want to and do nothing to help the major order are probably why we failed this major order and many others if those few hundred on that planet the a4000 on that planet the 600 there 2000 on that planet literally not helping in the slightest. Should be forced to fight on the proper planets

That thing about "Hellbomb hellpods destroying tanks" being a medium priority shouldn't be any priority at all. That is intended behavior and if they're going to start saying it's not then the Hellbomb booster is useless
On the Crossovers: I already can imagine the Game having Crossovers with Star-Wars, Halo, Doom, or even all of the above, hence the Game reminds me a lot to be a Hybrid of all the three said franchises. :D
The spread democracy mission against the bots was the only mission in the entire game that was actually hard to complete on super helldive. You actually have to coordinate with your team, so playing with randoms usually results in a mission failure. Or everyone rage quits...
Love the game and been playing since first month of its release. It’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had playing co-op as an older gamer! I have the say though - we really need a couple of fresh mission objectives, and I was so hoping we’d get vehicles or a vehicle mission by now.
It definitely feels like this MO is unwinnable. I know they have said no major order is unwinnable, but we physically don’t have enough people to win 8 planets. Right now there are 3 planets in defense and we are barely even affecting the planet with the most divers.

What we need to do to help incentivize people to focus the MO is to give more Rewards to make it worth to actually take part of it.
A lot of people are already sitting on Medals, and giving more varied rewards like Super Credits, armours that come through the Superstore, and Samples would make the community feel more unified in Future MO’s.
Definitely samples, they’re a pain to get. Maybe super credits for big major order and enough to get a war bond or half the price of a war bond, any less and it would be worthless with how many people can farm.

@phantomzero906 Samples are trivial to get even in lower difficulties. We need things to spend in game currencies on, not more currencies we can't use.
The Barrager Tank should be a top priority instead of medium priority. If you're not using thermites, specific strats, or specific support weapons, then they are unkillable, which limits your loadout options the higher the difficulty.

Recoilless, Spear, and Quasar to the back of the cannon head typically work. 2 shots if not 1.

Terminid reinforcement rates are what kept us from being able to take Gacrux for the last one, too. We would have needed twice the players to win.
It's doable, but we have thousands sitting on a planet that is going to lose the defence instead of reinforcing the one that still has a chance to win so that we get 2/3. It isn't that people aren't incentivised to do MO either. They really just don't care. Basically if there were cutscenes in this game they'd be skipping it and not reading anything.
From a friend who works at Microsoft: Xbox requires all games to be able to run on Series S and X. Helldivers 2 graphics won't run on S. The port isn't on Sony or Arrowhead. It's on Microsoft
9:10 on the bot side, they were NOT fine, i run mostly 7/8 because chill. But they spawned 3 factory striders on top of us, not fun.

Even on 6 which i usually run we on one mission had 7 drop ships releasing things on us during the flag mission. they were so many in the same spot they did weird collision glitches.
@@Bloddrake I once even LOST difficulty 6 mission because of this, being unable to complete and running out of reinforcments. It was with jet brigade, but the number of dropships was insane there.
they were manageable/"rewarding" if you were playing with friends or people that are not braindead and dont just start the objective the second they get there without atleast just cleaning first.

like 2 days ago i was playing with a friend and both of us were using the recoilless with one loading. the other 2 were quasar/ammopack and i think grenadier/ammopack. we did the first 2 objectives with relative ease because we prepared by having atleast 2 sentries and calling supplies. the quasar guy understood the plan and waited for everything to set up but in the last objective the grenadier immediately started it with a factory close and well we got our asses kicked. the grenadier left after dying like 11 times and somehow we managed to clear and extract
@@friskscipio didn't say we failed, got our butts handed to us the first attempt. The RR + team reload + supplies nearby does the trick just fine.

Well, we did obliterate the bots so hard that they were erased... When it was more clearly the harder fraction at the time... So they put up a giant fog fense in the bug section to stop us from permanently wiping the bugs off the map while they ramp up the difficulty of bots.

@@Mercer2003 Estanu is a 450k strength attack. Erata and Fenrir are 500k. These are weaker then the first two attacks which were 800k. We can clear two of these easy if we jump them now.
Been diving for over 700 hrs folks, and I’ve seen this game go through drama that was previously unseen in the gaming world. I’ve also seen an amazing community develop with a true admiration for this game.
Crossovers are best done as "wink wink" or tongue in cheek. Like the Gas warbond is a perfect wink wink to The Death Korps of Krieg. Not on the nose and not so far off no one gets the reference. The Doubt Killer armor, juuuust close enough to Jin Roh without it being a straight copyright stike.
I don't know about other Helldivers but I've been playing a lot more the last couple major orders than I have since the game launched.

I really hate fog.
Foggy planets with a lot of nursing spewers (the bloatd orange bugs) is a nightmare. In a game where you have absolutely no way to get better vision like a highlight of enemies or a game mechanic that clears fog it's horrible to have any typr of vision impairment combinations like that.
I dont think they should add any crossovers. The game is already a parody of a lot of sci fi movies and games and i think if they did a crossover with alien for example id want them to create their own version of alien that fits into the theme of the world but they could make it clearly inspired by alien. Similar to how the bots are already inspired by terminator. I want the game to be cohesive adding any other ip imo dilutes the original aesthetic…
To be honest: I don´t want any crossovers for Helldivers.
As much as I enjoy purging Heretics and crushing Nurgle beasts - there are other games for that.
We are fighting for managed Democracy and enforce the peace with liberty pellets from our freedom dispensers. And after our 10 years of conscription (with optional mandatory extensions of time) we return home, hang our Constitution Rifles to the wall in our moderately sized homes, fill out Form CP-01 and celebrate every 26th of October.
Helldivers is unique and should not get watered down and mixed with other universes. Expand the game, use elements you like from other IPs and integrate them into it. But for gods sake: Please! No Khorne Berzerkers, no Xenomorphs, no Predators and - most important - NO BUNNY EAR HELMETS!
TBH I trust AH on that front. They are smart enough to do stuff like this properly. At most it may just be a few Easter eggs and new armor set saying it is from a sponsor: I dunno, The Interplanetary Mining Company, a sent package that is beyond the outer regions of the galaxy. It would still keep in universe and we won’t have to interact with them. I think it can work however that is how I would do it. To prove my point 12:08, Pilestedt agreed with you that he doesn’t want the IP to get watered down. So I truly believe that they can pull off a crossover without over doing it.

If they gave bugs flinch to flamethrowers, then hunters wouldn't be an issue. Bots are even more frustrating.
@@troypowers750 You want arc weapons for flinch. Gas weapons will send them skittering in random directions since they can't actually track you. Flame is just raw DPS.
Don't bother using flame on bots. They have a natural resistance to it.

Seriously, learn the mechanics. You want flinch? Use an Arc weapon. They're actually really powerful.
Don't want to get spat on by a spewer? Hit them with a Blitzer. They WILL choke and not spew on you.
Hell, use a Pummeler SMG. It may not do much damage but it causes both flinch AND stagger.
Honestly, no crossovers. Just keep it Helldivers! Have the crossovers be a fiction comic or something :p

My take away on the "not winnable" it just means Joel will make sure it isn't winnable despite our efforts, with that said it just means when you see it your time is better spent on something "winnable"
Well your take is wrong because the devs have confirmed it on more than one occasion that the MO's are not set up to be won or lost and it's on us. Some are easier than others, but they don't have a set in stone 'we're going to make them lose this MO and win the next two' type deal.

It's not "regen rate" with defense. Esker and Socorro III had 800k HP that we had to win within 24 hours (the enemy bar is just a flat 24 hour timer). The current THREE defense missions have 500k, 500k, and 450k (Estanu). We MIGHT be able to get 2 of them down, it'll be tough but it's within the realm of possibility to hit 1m total in 1 day. 1.6m is kind of off the table.
For anyone thinking about volunteering any family memebers, to help with the construction of the DSS, a word of warning. I worked on the exterior shell of the DSS, for what was suppose to be a 3-month work assignment . It ended up being a 7-1/2 month work assignment, due to shortages in the labor force. Most of the shortages were caused by injuries, fatalities, and personnel considered, missing in construction. Most injuries are handled with expired stims, which can cause internal bleeding and death. It's also true, there are no bathrooms on the developing DSS. We are all issued diapers, as it's considered too expensive, and dangerous, to go on a bathroom break, while out in space, or while living within the confines of the inflatable sleeping quarters. One positive is, we have plenty of freeze-dried food stuffs to eat.
I’m wondering when we will get a new intro to the game.
We have the basic “recruitment video” with divers bringing democracy to some bugs, but I want to see an alternate recruitment video encouraging new enlistment in the fight of the automatons.
Not only would it break up the monotonous intro video, but also give new drivers a more in depth look at what it means to “be free”
I think it’s a great idea to give us already enlisted drivers renewed vigor as well as encourage others to download and enlist in service by releasing its new advertising campaign on local super earth broadcast networks to help drive up recruitment numbers!

What I'd love to see is a Galactic Map Expansion that sees one of the new bug planets right on the very outside edge be called "Hoxxes III." It'd be a cute little DRG reference, without actually adding anything from DRG in.
After one or two missions, my game always changes my lobbies to private. It still shows as public but only allows my friends to join. I always have to restart my game after every other mission just to make sure randoms can keep joining me. Hopefully that is fixed with the SOS beacon fixes since I was throwing them down each time. Perhaps that was what caused it? I’ll find out tonight 🤷🏼♂️

I actively choose to avoid SOS beacons because 99/100 times it just says that the lobby is private, so I avoid them.
I'd say at least 20% of those are mine, sorry, the button presses are one away from reinforce so nearly every game I put one down in my private squad when i wanted to reinforce. I wish you could just take it out of the list so i'd be less likely to throw it thinking i've done a good thing!
There is no regen rate for defense campaigns. It's a set value, the "rate" is just where you should be to complete the defense on time. This was a huge invasion hence why it was slow filling
I have to go to work (I'm working on night shift) and still coming to the game for 1h or 2 just to do my part, don't let me down divers

The real reason why we lose these kinds of MO, is because in between a third and half of the Helldivers are made useless by high command not giving all necessary information to optimize our deployment.
Sometimes articles like the one you referenced from GanesRadar seem to be written not by people who actually play the game, but rather by people who skim through a bunch of other articles looking for buzzwords and attention-grabbing phrases to inject a little drama into what is - at least for Helldivers 2 players - a fairly normal event.

I'd honestly love ANY of those crossovers, the amount of armor options for Star Wars alone is pretty extensive and having Clone Commando armor as an option for heavy armor sounds very enticing.

I would love to see a Spaceballs crossover. Their empire seems like it would get along with Super Earth, and their troops are just as expendable.
Between Swedish Christmas and the 60 day plan, we have spent like three months in a holding pattern narratively.
I don't think they know where they're going with the story.
I know, because the story is so engrossing. Attack, defend, attack again, defend once more... Really captivating stuff.
Feel like the next step for them is with the gloom, and as soon as they figure out an efficient way of implementing new enemies, we'll see a massive bug expansion operation and maybe truly new enemy types not from HD1.

Raising the flag was completely doable. You just had to have 2 or 3 guys shooting the dropships with recoilless rifles and deny the drop area with 120 and/or 380 mm artillery strikes when the troops inevitably land. Keep 50 meters to the artillery strikes and also have a few sentries in good positions.
If I had to pick one cross over for helldivers it would easily be Star Wars! Imagine a clone trooper or mandorian armed set or a star destroyer skin for your super destroyer, Hell they could even make it an option to change the DSS to the Death Star in the settings or something!

Biggest puzzle piece missing with the game rn is the "gamification" of the galactic map. Right now the map is just a placeholder for an actual game-its run using a game master sure-but imagine this was a single player game: what would you expect from a galactic war campaign? We would expect the game to run ITSELF- not just be based on vibes.
As players we have no way to strategize beyond "defend this spot" and even attacking is SO fractional that we can't feel like we are making a difference.

The spread democracy mission against the bots was the only mission in the entire game that was actually hard to complete on super helldive. You actually have to coordinate with your team, so playing with randoms usually results in a mission failure. Or everyone rage quits...
Starship Troopers is an easy choice because of how similar the two franchises are.
But I would love to see the Roughnecks come in for an assist.
Love the game and been playing since first month of its release. It’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had playing co-op as an older gamer!
I have the say though - we really need a couple of fresh mission objectives, and I was so hoping we’d get vehicles or a vehicle mission by now.
It definitely feels like this MO is unwinnable. I know they have said no major order is unwinnable, but we physically don’t have enough people to win 8 planets. Right now there are 3 planets in defense and we are barely even affecting the planet with the most divers.
