I bought 12oz bags at Aldi for .99 yesterday. Making cranberry sauce today and will buy more for juice. Haven't added sugar in the past to the juice but will try that this time.
I don’t drink a ton of juice- only bc I’m low carb- have been for years- but when I do it’s crazy expensive with additives. Just in August I had surgery and it caused multiple urinary infections- this really would have come in handy- instead I had to send my husband to the store - and that is a task in its self- they need a picture guide to go to the grocery store here- if you know you know!!! In addition with cranberry being so affordable and available at this time this easy recipe is a no brainer! Thx you Ally!!!
Hi. This is exactly how I make grape juice! I double the recipe, so that there is a concentrated grape flavour. Then I add some more water to the glass I'm going to pour. Not storing so many jars that way. In the Okanagan (interior of British Columbia) I use bath grapes. Don't know about other varieties flavour. ❤ from 🇨🇦
I love cranberry juice, so I am definitely going to try this. Pray for me. I love to mix it with ginger ale. My confession.: I have a canner but am afraid to use it. 1. Horror stories of jars breaking which means time and good food wasted. 2. I just don't know what to look for. 3. I don't want to kill my family, making a mistake. Your fingertip tight demonstration is really helpful. Thanks so much for all you do.
I made cranberry juice this way (taste so much better and worth the wait) for the first time. And we loved it. I was so excited to make it again this year but i thought oh lets try it another way so i made it as a concentrate (its ready to use now) and i dont like it as much as the other way. So from now on i will definitely being doing this way. I am stull excited to have cranberry juice on our shelf tho. Thank you for sharing your videos. I look forward to them every morning 🥰😁🌻
I debated on showing the other way but I prefer this one too. The other is great for splashing over juice or sparkling water but too strong to me on its own.
Hey Ali - Thanks for showing us this recipe. You mentioned making a 'zingier' version by boiling the cranberries until they pop? Do i mash them into the water at that point, and then jar that as juice?
Yes. You mash them in the juice and strain it. Don’t push it when you strain it so the bitterness and small bits stay behind. Waterbath can the same way
I’m learning canning through you & others. I currently only have an electric pressure cooker so I know there are certain things you really need a proper stovetop pressure canner to use. Last night I did cranberry jam with a water bath. My next project tomorrow will be cranberry pineapple jam with fresh pineapple. Just have to process the fresh pineapple with heat to break down the enzymes so the jam will gel. I’ll see how that goes. Picking up my Azure order this week. Second order! There were over 100 people at the last pickup and it was fun meeting people & learning the ropes of the process. I figured there would be maybe 5-10 people!! I’m off work with elbow surgery so have been baking & cooking. All my Christmas presents will be homemade this year! Have you posted a chart somewhere for canning vs. water bath processing with the food type, times & pressure pounds? Or refer us to one? Your videos in your home with your husband & family made me realize how much I enjoyed cooking and missed it. Being home has brought back that satisfaction💁🏻♀️ Thank you!! 🍞🥖🍷☕️
I love this!!!! I use my electric canner instead of my stovetop now. I use my stovetop for larger loads. I love that you are making homemade gifts. I love the thought I have to put in to each gift and it makes it so much more special.
Love Cranberry juice and it’s great for keeping UTI’s away. It looks so easy to make as well, if I had the canning stuff I’d probably make it. Do you know how to make Oat Milk. That’s all I seem to be able to tolerate these days but I’ve no idea how to make it or even if its worth trying to make it. Love your videos Ally, I seem to miss a lot of them but I do try and go back and watch them. TFS.
I do make oat milk but I’m working on a new version that doesn’t need a juicer. It’s not hard to make. The hardest thing is it separates and has to be shaken and I’m figuring out how to avoid that .
It’s actually from Dollar tree and it’s a nail polish remover pump. They have them on the lowest level of the makeup section but here is a similar one amzn.to/4fNuiQT it works so well.
Water bath is for higher acid foods and things like jelly with pectin or lemon added and pressure canning is more meats and low acid. Like things with vinegar like pickles, pectin like jams, salsa lemon juice can all be water bath canned. I really only pressure can green beans, dried beans, meats, soups, things that don’t have the acid to keep the bad juju out.
I just finished making 40 jars of slow cooker apple butter. All you do is core the apples no peeling needed! It is awesome! Just google no peel slow cooker apple butter.
You can! We have video of that using cores and peels. It’s a short but you will get the idea. I boil it longer to extract the flavor more. ua-cam.com/users/shorts3WzuxbtKp5s?si=Rtu6wynn25kRxT2B
I never learned how to do any of this so, me being me, youtubed it; tried this same method with strawberries last year, cooked them first though. I'm scared to open the jar. 🤦🏽♀️
I know very little about canning this but I heard that 'there is no safe way of canning whole cranberries' I don't understand that why? Like I've canned all sorts and this makes no sense
Oh nooooo! You jumped on this trend?? I cannot understand how anyone can call this juice lol. It’s sugar water with cranberries in it. Sorry, I just detest this trend
Thank you for another great video! I'm 52 yrs. old and learning so much from you! This is my new favorite channel. 😊 Have a blessed day 🙏
You're welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!

Love that you double the recipe! We may have to try that.

We have had 2 jars break ever. It’s really not that hard. If I can do it you totally can too.

Enjoyed ur video bc I've thot about canning cb juice. This is how I can grape juice 😊👍

P.S. Aldi is going to run out of cranberries because of me!!
I love this!!!! I use my electric canner instead of my stovetop now. I use my stovetop for larger loads. I love that you are making homemade gifts. I love the thought I have to put in to each gift and it makes it so much more special.
Yum
Can you post your apple pie you spoke about in this video?
I would love to see the apple pie recipe too
We will be making it this week!!!
I like the funnel. lol doesn’t take much to make me happy. Where did you get it?
Walmart in the canning area. We’ve had it for years and it was low cost.
🤭Don’t understand why people watch if they don’t like the content. Silly.🙃 Have a great day! Thank you!
Thank you!
You should try brown sugar instead of white sugar, IMO it takes it to another level
Interesting!!
I love adding a few chunks of fresh pineapple to mine!
gonna do today! easy peasy, lemon squeezy
Love your videos. Have you ever used an instant pot to can anything? Was wondering if it could be done with one.
I haven’t. They don’t get hot enough to can in them safely.

I would have liked to see the whole process of canning
I’ll do a full basic canning video soon.
Do you have a video for the Wassel that you taked about??
We do! ua-cam.com/video/2_pQc53K8yg/v-deo.htmlsi=GtNsCg3iRI5Pr37V
I canned fresh cranberry orange juice two days ago! It's that time of year! I'm interested in the vinegar pump you use. Will you send the link?
It’s actually from Dollar tree and it’s a nail polish remover pump. They have them on the lowest level of the makeup section but here is a similar one amzn.to/4fNuiQT it works so well.
What would be the recipe for pint jars? And time? I’m the only one who likes cranberry juice here. Thank you for the recipe.
Half the recipe and reduce the time by 5 minutes. 😀
What is the difference between water bath canning and regular canning? How do you know which foods/sauces get canned vs water bath canned?
Water bath is for higher acid foods and things like jelly with pectin or lemon added and pressure canning is more meats and low acid. Like things with vinegar like pickles, pectin like jams, salsa lemon juice can all be water bath canned. I really only pressure can green beans, dried beans, meats, soups, things that don’t have the acid to keep the bad juju out.
Do you find you have to dilute your juice when you go to drink it?
Did the cook, blender, sieve method (PITA method) and definitely have to dilute it!
You do not need to dilute. My favorite is to splash with ginger ale.
Do you do fermented cranberry juice?
I haven’t yet. We love to do fermented stuff but I haven’t tried that yet.
hi! just wondering if you have a recipe for apple butter?
Oh goodness I don’t. I thought I did. Searched and nope. I’ll get right on that for you.
@@LittleHillHomesteadGa TYSM!
I just finished making 40 jars of slow cooker apple butter. All you do is core the apples no peeling needed! It is awesome! Just google no peel slow cooker apple butter.
Could you substitute fresh pineapple chunks instead of cranberries, and make pineapple juice?
You can! We have video of that using cores and peels. It’s a short but you will get the idea. I boil it longer to extract the flavor more. ua-cam.com/users/shorts3WzuxbtKp5s?si=Rtu6wynn25kRxT2B
Could you use frozen cranberries
you can!
Just got cranberries to make juice. Can you pressure can these too? I have the electric one and it is so much easier to pressure canning.
20 minutes at 10 pounds of pressure. Enjoy!
I started cranberry juice today. My question is, what do you do with the cranberries after the juice is ready and you strain the juice?
Compost, chicken feed, trash. They kind of lose flavor so aren’t good for much
@ thank you. I thought they would not be useful
How long do these stay good for - I wonder?
We have some that are two years old and still perfect.
I have a question for you. I have diabetes. I was wondering if I could substitute say like Splenda instead of sugar ?
You can! Honey, date sugar, any sweetener will work.
@@LittleHillHomesteadGagreat. I never used date sugar. I will look into that. Your the best !
I just do berries and water only. No sugar
I need the sweet personally but you can totally do it without and add it as a splash to ginger ale!!!
I never learned how to do any of this so, me being me, youtubed it; tried this same method with strawberries last year, cooked them first though. I'm scared to open the jar. 🤦🏽♀️
If it is still sealed you are good! They will be amazing.
I know very little about canning this but I heard that 'there is no safe way of canning whole cranberries' I don't understand that why? Like I've canned all sorts and this makes no sense
I bet it’s an air thing. The center is hallow so a giant air pocket. They pop in this recipe so they are fine but that’s interesting.
Oh nooooo! You jumped on this trend?? I cannot understand how anyone can call this juice lol. It’s sugar water with cranberries in it. Sorry, I just detest this trend
So, you can make cranberry juice and can it.
I find the other way very strong and bitter. We love this way since it isn’t overpowering.
@ there’s a better way to can cranberry juice IMO
