Thanks! I was originally going to do a 1.5 inch lift because lowering the diff sounded like an undertaking. Your sweet video made it look very easy and now this old fool will have a better off roader thanks to you.
I just went with the trail tailor diff drop idk if you’ve pick this up yet but I’d recommend getting the extended sway bar links from him too since you already have the drop
I know, I am slacking hard! I just got back from a week and a half trip with the family and spent a ton of time getting ready for it. Now it's back to work. I should be back to regular Friday videos in the next week or two.
@@BradyAdventures still got the black finger nail growing out from the smash But I got her out 😂 3’ Cheater pipe plus the floor Jack handle all it took.
Greetings from Texas! Awesome/ fun family!! Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this video. I have a 99 LX470 and I’m about to do the AHC removal and either install the OME kit like yours or the Slee Offroad brand shocks- still kinda on the fence- keep up the great series!! I subbed
@@BradyAdventures I ended up purchasing the Ironman 4X4 Foam Cell Pro on a Black Friday deal. I called Slee beforehand and the guy pretty much degraded the Nitro Ironmans. HAHA He didn't say anything negative about the Foam Cell Pros though. I just though it was a good cost v. performance compromise. I still have the UCA and diff. drop to order but got side tracked with the Emu Wing rear window purchase! I will try to video the install and upload it. Again, thanks for all your hard work making videos for us! It's much appreciated!
@@thebigempty_5792 cool man let me know how you like that setup. so jealous i would love a set of those wings! definitely let my know if you post as video i don't want to miss that one! thanks!!
The 100 comes with IFS, whereas my understanding is the 105 is the version with the solid front axle. Only the 100s with IFS were ever sold in the US. 105s are extremely rare here. You Aussies have all the good luck!
@@Chillecheezdogg Yes i am not into four wheel drive 'Land Bruisers", I looked at a Defender with all independent front and rear, to the untrained eye, anything that gets that big Knobbly "pimple" up into the chassis, like a Sumo wrestler retracting his Balls for a match, would seem to be the ideal, but for some reason. i know I am wrong.
Hi I've just installed this mod to my truck as per the instructions ( very straightforward and as per your video ) however I'm concerned as to how close it has brought the diff to the crossmember mount on the right hand side, its a 3mm clearance? Is yours the same? All the diff mount bushes and spacers are new and the vehicle has a 2" lift.
I apologize it took me so long to get back to you. I have been traveling and not on grid much at all. Did you ever figure this out? I didn't notice a clearance issue. ih8mud.com 100 series forum is always a great resource since I bet someone else has ran into this. Thanks!
with differential drop installed, is it possible to adjust the height of the vehicle to standard? i wanted to have the stock height of the lc100 since the 2” lift feels wobbly, especially at 80kph.
absolutely, I think it would be fine to have the diff drop and lower the height back down. You would have a little less ground clearance than stock but I don't think it would be an issue.
I’m curious, would it be best to install my new OME Torsion Bars on my Land Cruiser and adjust them...then install my Differential drop kit? Or Vice versa starting with drop kit then torsion bars?
I don't think it matters too much the two don't really overlap or interfere with each other. The only thing i can think is the truck will be higher off the ground after you put the new torsion bars in so it will give you a little more room to work. If you think it will be a while in-between each and you'll be driving a lot I'd do the drop first to avoid any stress on your cv boots. Just a couple thoughts off the top of my head.
@@BradyAdventures Awesome perspective to me, thanks!! Probably gonna try to get em all done in a day! Just put on my new Steel Bumper and Winch on my land cruiser so it’s getting the full upgrades all at once! #RipWallet
You would only do this modification on a 100 that has had a suspension raise. The reason for this is to decrease the angle of the CV joints, and thus increasing their strength, which would of otherwise been weakened by a suspension lift. I hope this helps

man thanks so much! I am so glad it was helpful. I am so glad I did 2.5!
What happened then👀
Gonna do this tomorrow doesn't look to hard to do, thanks for the video
Absolutely! Good luck and thanks!
Man lining up the new cross member with the diff arm and the 4 mounting bolts had me saying a few curse words.
🤣 I was definitely cursing too 🤣

thanks! i agree 100% i have his swaybar links and also added his tow points.
Just ordered the Trail Tailor 100 series combo kit with diff drop and front/rear extended sway bar links! Can’t wait to get em!
Ready for the torsion bar video

Jim Simmons thanks man!
The rear bolt on the diff gave me such a struggle. Lathered it up with some more lube... going after her again tonight 😂
Sorry for the late response, missed your comment. Hope things loosened up for you!

Would’ve been good to see before and after cv angle change😉
Oh man, I should have thought of that! :-)
Was it common for 100 series to have independent front ends in the USA? In Australia there are a lot of solid axle fronts.

Chillecheezdog is spot on only ifs for us in the USA. thanks for checking us out!
Slee diff drop is for stopping the vibrations on front of the Land Cruiser after 2.5 inch lift?
It is primarily to reduce the angle on the CV joints. The increased angle on the CV boots when lifted will cause them to prematurely fail.

what are the pros to this modification on a stock 100?
I don't think there are any pros on a stock vehicle only if you're lifting thanks for checking us out!
