I will never get over how it appears the taillights are basically fully covered. Love my Dissent front bumper.

I had the same thought. You can see them but barely. I tail and turn signal in the bumper would be an awesome upgrade.

Thanks for the info on the Yeti 45. I was going to do the same.

Nice Vid… btw, if you swap out the rubber bumpers on the swing out (outer) it’ll let you swing the tire carrier just a bit more so you can utilize the tray when the tailgate is down. Mine clears by a little.
I also rotated my accessory tray around so the open side is toward me when i cook on it. Just my preference. 🤙

Thanks so much for the comment!! I also had Ben send me an email about it. I just filmed a video of me swapping the bump stops and it worked like a charm. So for rotating the table, I never even considered that. I am going to make that change today. It's not only going to make my cooking a bit easier but the way I mount the grill it will be more secure and I won't have to switch the grill around when I setup. I can't thank you enough for the ideas!

@@BradyAdventures Btw, not sure if you mentioned the tire carrier not holding position? I didnt like how tightening the tire carrier (square tube) can get crushed, so i picked up a couple long coupler nuts that fill the square tube almost perfect… so now I can crank down on the tire carrier (square tube) w/o any worry of it getting crushed or deformed. Holds the tire at any angle you want, and never slips.

@@josephpark421 Wow, another great suggestion! I guess you could also use a crush tube. I haven't had a problem with the tire carrier slipping but I could totally imagine crushing it. I have ran into these kind of issues before, once on this bumper in another spot. I tend to go too far with the torque sometimes :-) Thanks!

Hey Brady, I have the same bumper on an LX470. I also had the same issues you had.
    1. Torquing the spindle nut does nothing to keep the tire carrier at the correct angle. The instructions explain this poorly and leads to the damage to your powder coat as the nut holding the strut in place slides across it as the spindle naturally loosens over time. Fix: Loosen the 4 bolts to the plate holding the arm, torque the arm up (helps with a buddy) and tighten the bolts on the plate back up at a higher angle. This lasts longer and won't make you over torque the spindle nut which crushes the bearings. Ask me how I know?
    2. The table hitting the tailgate is a result of the bump stop stopping the arm from opening up wide enough. Don't cut the table simply remove shims from the outer bump stop or switch that bump stop with the thinner one of the 2 provided. Good luck

Awesome video! I've been thinking of getting the same backup camera, any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks man! The camera is a little bit of a pain in the ass since you connect to it through wifi, it has wifi and you connect to it which essentially means your orher phone data stop working. other than that it works great and absolutely necessary when i am tryong to get it in a tight spot or hooking up a trailer or something. I haven't seen anything I think is better yet. I hope that helps.

Sweet rig!!! Thanks for the walk through. Did you go with the aluminum or steel version?

    • @BradyAdventures
      @BradyAdventures  2 роки тому +1

I went steel. Ben recomended since i might be putting some weight back there. Steel is the perfered option if you end up loading it up.

How about not cutting the table and have it pivot upwards

Hi Chuck, I really enjoy your videos. They have been extremely helpful. I just picked up my front and rear bumpers from Dissent and getting ready to install them this weekend. Not sure what year LC you have but I have a 1999 with the 4 speed trans. I have quite a bit of weight on the vehicle and recently noticed some lag coming back from Lone Pine, over to Vegas, and back home to CA on my last trip. Did you happen to notice the same? I'm considering having it regeared hoping it will solve that problem.
I have the Ironman Stage 3 with constant load springs so for me sag is not an issue. It's more the extra weight I'll be adding with these bumpers and not to mention a Warn winch. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Finally, keep making those videos.

    Are black bolts an option?

    • @BradyAdventures

That's a great question, I never asked so not sure but that would look sweet balcked out. You could certainly find them though.

@0:00. Was that the $$ spent on your bumpers?
