    i discovered climbing a few weeks ago , and am a middle aged man and it has bitten me big style. theres something about the feeling of it, hard to place, i love disciplines where its you against yourself and its almost like an art form.i got my first pair of climbing shoes today and am going to try them out tomorrow. i love what jai said about climbing being for everyone. i love how nothing matters on the wall, no race, no gender no anything just skills.love it love it love it

  • @morgann1862
    @morgann1862 5 років тому +61

    The title of "best climber in the world" is a ridiculous one. Within climbing there are many different types of categories. One may argue Ondra is the strongest sport climber and his quick repeat of the Dawn Wall is a amazing accomplishment. Alex Megos nearly flashed Realization, he has next level ability. The difficult climbing that David Lama has done in the Alpine realm separates him in that category. Obviously Honnold is the greatest free solo climber. There are a handful of great V16/17 climbers, so who knows who the best boulderer is. And Tommy Caldwell is great at about every type of climbing, from speed ascents in Patagonia, to 5.15 sport climbing, to extremely hard bouldering and big wall climbing. But always remember the best climber is the one having the most fun!

    I feel like he might might benefit from some barbell lifts as well to build explosivness and overall core strength. I feel like traditional strength training is often undervalued in the climbing community. Complex barbell movements are an absolute top tier way to build explosiveness and raw strength. You don't need to do it like a powerlifter and build shitloads of muscle but instead do speed reps and work on that fast twitch.

    In my mostly uninformed opinion, it seems the US climbers don't have the right attitude to truly be the top of the top. There's a reason the Japanese climbers are the best overall and that's because they have a very balanced attitude about climbing and training and although they have a hard work ethic, they don't over train. They have a strong sense of camaraderie and a lightness the US teams don't seem to share. In every video I watch about the young US climbers, they all seem like they are being trained by a bunch of overly ambitious stage moms. It's a real turn off to be honest. Kai seems like a good guy though; he's just not being trained by the right people.

    • @AMM1998
      @AMM1998 5 років тому +1

      yeah man i seriously don't think that strength and conditioning training 3 days a week is effective. Basically all your training should be done on the wall with the exception of finger strength related stuff and core.
      There's a reason why kai quit competitive climbing. that's a rigorous schedule to have to put up with. if you're going to be a pro, you have to dedicate all of your time to training/recovery. You won't make it if you're starting college.
      I'm happy for the dude for looking into his future career but i can't help but think this training is part of why he was motivated to give it up.

      This is a very confusing comment. You're asking if he knows how to use a dog bone? Don't get me wrong indoor and outdoor climbing are very different. That being said all the climbing comps and Olympic climbing is on a man made wall. I also think that the title was probably a bit clickbait when they posted it. I am just seeing this video two years after it was posted and I have not heard of Kai Lightner. Also if you look at his instagram you can see he climbs outside and on some pretty hard routes.

    do butterfly wings have colors?
    Such a simple question, yet so many different ways to explain it. To answer this question, I’ll be looking at all possible fields of study this question could be referring to. These fields of study include: entomology, philosophy, social studies, and reality as we know it. My entomologic explanation will include statistics on known butterfly species and the pigments that give such a color to butterflies. My philosophical explanation will include what “butterfly wings” and “color” really could mean to humans as a species and why it is important. My reality explanation will discuss what color is, how it operates, and what it brings to us.
    Do butterfly wings have colors in entomology? The short answer is yes. Butterflies could use their colorful wings for a variety of uses such as attracting a mate, camouflage, and a warning signal for predators. Butterflies have evolved to have certain colors on their wings through a process called natural selection. Natural selection allows for more able species to survive through the ages. The reason for this is that organisms with better suited traits for its environment also carries the genes for those traits which would most likely be passed onto subsequent generations. This allowed butterflies to evolve brightly colored wings, as brightly colored wings are better suited for survival in its environment.
    What could the essay prompt be referring to when they ask about “butterfly wings” and “colors”? There are numerous possibilities, but due to the fact that this essay is being timed, I will only include one indication of what “butterfly wings” and “colors” could be referring to. Butterfly wings could be referring to the quality of citizen life. Colors could be referring to the beauty that might or might not be contained in daily citizen life. So the question rephrased is: “Does daily citizen life have beauty in it?”. The answer to this question subjectively is simply in the perspective of the audience. Beauty, by definition, is something pleasing to the senses. Being anybody living a life will be nearly always guaranteed some sort of pleasing sensory stimulation at some point in their life. So the answer to the question would be that citizens life nearly always has beauty in it. The reason why this is important is simply because humans generally find beauty important naturally.
    The origin of the universe derives from nothing. We don’t exist, and we never existed ever. In a standard atom in the periodic table, the charge of it is always zero. This is due to the protons positive charge canceling out the neutrons negative charge. The same goes for the existence of the universe. Our universe exists, because there is an anti-universe that exists that is able to cancel out our existence and equate to nothing. This is explained and proven through quantum mechanics. I will interpret the question of the essay prompt as: “Does our reality contain anything true and real?”. The answer is no, according to the explanation above.
    Butterfly wings might or might not have colors. The question can be answered in many different ways. What matters is what context the question is put in, and how one might interpret the question. Such a vague question might never be able to be truly and completely answered. This is unless the question is asked and interpreted in a literal sense.

    I’ve done 10,000 metres before it’s an inside support team for climber under 12 I’m 9 I was freaking out it had no harness I’ve been training since I was three when I started to climb up a 9ft cupboards. I had a tense time of 2, tense time means how long you get tensed and if you get to -5 you continue to the finals I’ve been in the finals for a total of 23 times. I have a tense time total of -20,000,000 I’ve had a few people that wanna get taught but they never new what a climbing support team meant and how to get it, my support team let’s me get a good stretch for the back bend twisters. If you wanna know where to train in Queensland for starters go to climb centres they usually have pre support teams my support team is very technical.
    I hope you enjoy climbing!
