Just FINALLY able to subscribe from here in the USA. Waiting for Pack 1. Whilst I am not a "fan" of the original TV show, my mother's 2nd husband worked on it during production. Here in LA they employ retired motorcycle cops when shooting on location. My stepfather did that, and was paid handsomely I might add.
Interesting suspension set up, it is different than the real car, the third gen trans am have one lower control arm, the spring goes between the arm and the cross member the spindle attaches to the control arm outer section and the McPherson strut attaches to the upper spindle and the inner fender. I own a 1983 trans am knight rider replica. Great video.
Hi Wayne, when securing the lower suspension arms the first one (stage 8) you said use JM screws the second one you said use IM screws, it's actually use one of each, might be worth you double checking they are secured correctly, I almost fell in to the same problem, I also noticed the brake lines you need to check the orientation, also one line should attach to the rear of the caliper at this stage, I also made the same mistake with that steering mount on the wrong side, glad it's not just me 🤣
I got my notification on 11-14 today. Those 'crossmembers' are so much easier to install if you do them BEFORE you build the suspension as you can see where those two screws that go up the spring need to go so much easier. The brake distributor, according to the instructions, should have the long pipe on one side and the two equal lengths go on the middle and other side. I'm going to move mine around so the longer pipe is in the middle and the others go off the sides to the brakes - which you missed the instruction for. They tell you to set the brake line in-between the suspension arms and connect it to the nipple on the black brake component. Also, if the square pin in the steering gearbox isn't square to the frame you'll need to take the steering gearbox apart again to square the steering wheel with the front wheels. I've still got to check mine to the steering wheel as I may have it 90° out.
13:50. I think I told you, I have those magnifiers (brilliant BTW! Those watching this, I recommend you buy them). I managed to BREAK one side by using them as "eyeglasses"...fat head I have. Fixed with epoxy, and NOW use the elastic headband option, highly recommended.
That square bit on the steering has sheared completely off on mine and I think it's a fault in the material. Told fanhome about it and silence when I said I'm not paying for a replacement due to me feeling its faulty
So cool to see this coming along. I really want to build it but just don't have the time for another build at the moment. When you said you threw the Victory in the trash today on the Livestream my heart sank a bit. I had been wondering what the status of it was, and I fully understand your reasoning. At some point I'd like to build the Victory, but maybe after I retire.
That assembly is called a "sub-frame". Those GM cars were a semi-unibody. So the entire front section was removable. Fun Fact: KITT was originally going to be a Datsun 280ZX, but GM stepped in.
The 83 trans am only has the cross member without the rest of the subframe, I know I replaced mine with a tubular cross member on my 83 trans am. It is a lot different than the suspension on the kit that he is building.
@@Zelaznogsiul-63 Guess they didn't get the memo about the update. Lol. I've only worked on 1st and some early 2nd gen F-bodies so I wasn't sure of when they updated. GM likes to keep things the same for as long as possible. Lol.

Well i had problems with DPD on my1:8 Peugeot205 GTi build/after speaking to Eric Le Dunois/IXO Collections changed the parcel couriers from DPD to Parcel Force. As DPD are afucking nightmare to deal with. So it should now be Parcel Force from now on as the main parcel couriers for any future IXO Collections build
@@bedfordshiremodeller4491 Ive had problems with parcelforce in the past they dont ring doorbell then dont leave a card just get a message saying missed parcel and no idea were it is or they leave with a neighbour and its up to you to find out what one lol

Wayne I am on step 10 of Kitt my question is that I always have trouble hooking up the brake lines and was wondering if it would hurt to add alittle glue to the front brake distributor?

It looks like they realized the suspension was easier to work on without the wheel attached. I'm surprised they didn't ask you to take the first one back off first.
I always wonder: are these screws the same across multiple models? Like, are Fanhome's DM screws the same as Eaglemoss's DM screws? If so, then that's all the more reason to save screws between builds: because you might be able to use them in another build somewhere.
IXO Collections hav been waiting afair while now for Box 7. Somthing to do with delays in the shipping containers themselves but this sadly can/does happen even though it technically shouldn,t

Can someone tell me how effective the steering should be. I'm at stage 18 and the steering rod does not turn the wheels effectively at all. Have I made a mistake?

My first R2? The lightsaber won't deploy, and the "long" LED won't light. Otherwise it works normally, and the App downloaded to my Android phone. That is wonky, but I can work around.

OK...I have already built a full R2-D2 from DeAgostini, plus the X-Wing (no longer available). I ALSO subscribed via 'FanHome' for another R2...guess I'm glutton for punishment.

My theory? I am now parts works heavy, Agora/Hachette Titanic, plus the Jaguar, plus I am about to buy the Agora Lambo....I already finished the Agora Zero. Now I have FanHome/DeAgostini as well. I just don't film it, the difference. But, Wayne? We like to watch YOU. Meanwhile I build plastic models, real and Sci-Fi AND RC airplanes...a few helicopters too. Oh, did I mention model railroading?

I’ve just done these stages, I recommend adding a little grease to the steering gears before assembly for a smoother mechanism

It was also due to be a corvette but due to a production delay they used the TransAm

Speaking of lubrication, when there are plastic gears you can look at model railroading lubricants. Specifically for plastic.

You’re correct, struts. In some of the scenes you can see the strut tube in the wheel well above the tyre.

The right side shock absorber was put in wrong Wayne. You didn't put it through the upper suspension arm like you did on the left side
I fixed it now. The thumbnail for the vid should show it correct
