Hi Dan! The corn is bathed with a mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, peanut powder and the main sauce called 沙茶醬, which is widely eaten for hot pot. It consists of soybean and shrimp paste. It goes really nice with the sweet corn. The fish cake you were eating with the spicy stir-fried sausage and onions looks to me like the fried sweet fish paste called satsuma age in Japanese.
nice to have you back! Your pronunciation of the night market is correct! good job :) hope you have fun and good time there =P that corn is also my favorite meal :) very delicious. The interesting thing is it can be very different (and yum for sure) based the way it grilled and the sauce people put on.
There are a lot of foreign UA-camrs in Taiwan and are pretty much all good people, just a little recommendation for you if you need friends lol Hope you enjoy your stay !
Hi Dan what a great food tour. Taiwan definitely on my list. The crispy fried pork bites looked super as did the corn. Hope you are doing well with your new job. Cheers mate.
39:57 yeah you can spend a life time in this market for sure :) and you can always do a follow up video, go to different stall(s) , there are also other night markets right throughout Taiwan and they don't necessary serve the same food, hope you get a chance to try a few :)
the bumpy shapped thingie in that fruit shop @ 33:37 is called bitter melon. It is actually a vegitable. The disgusting bitter taste of its juice is very good for your health, so they said.
The very first booth with the duck head is a very famous Taiwan food. You can find them in every night markets. It’s pretty good. And it’s deep fried too. Taiwan is very good at deep frying food 😆
Unfortunately not lol, I have to feed feed myself 🤣 the umbrella is a mystery, I must have put it down at some point but don't have any recollection of it. The corn was good 😋😋😋
Ya, these dishes can definitely be found cheaper elsewhere, it's just that it's a famous and popular night market in the centre of Taipei, so I think that's why the prices are on the higher side 🙏
Great video! However, as a friendly reminder from a former resident in Taiwan, it's very rude just to stick your camera toward the item display area or kitchen area like you did before. People tolerate this due to the fact that they are generally nice to foreigners, but this should not be taken for granted and I can see several owners of the food stands were offended, just in case you can't tell their minor facial expression there.
Thank you Eason! In my opinion, a street food stand simply being set up at such a night market is putting themself on view, I understand people can be intimidated by a camera, even I can be, so I understand this part. But what you're saying is that people like vloggers or photographers shouldn't't film anything at markets unless they ask permission from every individual stall and stand and worker at the market first? I think there are thousands of night market videos on UA-cam and those filming it didn't ask each stall first before filming, but maybe they did haha. If I did that, it would take forever, and guarantee at the end of all of it, there wouldn't be a video 🤣 I think they can handle a few seconds with a camera in front of them or their dishes, it's not the end of the world 😜 Thanks for your input and I'm glad you enjoyed watching 👍
The garbage trucks in Tapei play the EXACT same song as here in Arequipa, Peru 🇵🇪 😅😂
Seriously? Exactly the same? Amazing 🤣🤣🤣
To me, it sounds like it should be an ice-cream van! 🍦🍧🍨
For food....Stay in Taipei?
If so, that's really cool! 😂😂
Yes 👍🙏🇹🇼

Ahhh that's what it is, thank you, I'll be trying some more exotic drinks next time, I just couldn't resist that watermelon juice 🤣
Congrats on your move!

The mochi flaky ice is a must try at this market. They come in sesame or peanut flavors.
I'll try to eat next time, it looks great, thank you Marklin!

The chilly pepper is only for seasoning, don’t eat it, otherwise it cuts off the pleasure of taste 😢
Ok 👍🌶️👍🌶️👍🌶️👍
