Your videos are my weekly dose of encouragement!! I don't knit (yet)... only crochet, maybe one day... I appreciate how you show us even your "mistakes", so we don't feel alone in this journey!! :-) Your knitted toys turned out all so adorable!!
I am obsessed knitting little cotton rabbits. I have made over 100 of these endearing toys and with each, I grow stronger at developing techniques. I am now at a stage where I am modifying the patterns and experimenting with yarns and needles sizes to create new sizes and looks. Little cotton rabbits has been such a blessing in my life ! I adore your studio space Katie !!!
I absolutely adore Julie's designs!! They are seriously the best!! And that is amazing that you've made so many!! 👏👏👏 And thank you!! I love my little craft room!! 💖💖💖
I am loving all your wonderful videos. So inspiring and fun! I am currently making some crochet dolls for a friend of mine whose little first grandchild has to have surgery to repair his skull which fused together much too early. It is scary for the family and when she asked me if I would make some dolls which she wants to gift to her daughter and this new little baby of course I said yes. What I am finding is that with each stitch, I am holding him close to my heart. Each stitch is a prayer for healing and recovery and peace for this baby and his family. Thank you for what you do in encouraging this sweet craft.
What a beautiful thing you are doing for your friend. I hope that everything works out well for them and they can put all of this stress behind them soon. 🌻🍄💓
I bought the small rabbit pattern from Little Cotton Rabbits and I made the girl rabbit and she’s adorable! I totally fell in love with all of Julie’s creation and just like you, they took my breath away! I’ve only been knitting for almost 2 years and I didn’t have any problem at all making her. I followed the links Julie recommended for the tutorials on various stitches, which help me a ton! Thank you for all of your amazing videos and words of wisdom for these precious toys. I am a fan and a subscriber! I’m looking forward to sharing my progress on my own channel and I can’t wait to continue the journey. God bless you 🥰🙏💖🧶
I only crochet but always watch all your videos because you are so passionate about both knit and crochet and your content is inspiring. I do adore the Little Cotton Rabbits animals. They are just too stinkin' cute. I tend to like the fuzzy ones better because that halo just adds another level of beautiful.
I'm on bunny number 2. This time a girl bunny. I had to laugh and nod when you mentioned the shoes. I just finished one foot (just the knitting, not the seaming yet) and oh boy, I'm really glad I finished a bunny with no shoes first .hahaha Thank you for this compilation video. Your videos were great at helping me get through my first one! xo
Those shoes are so tricky at first. It just takes making them that first time to wrap your mind about how they are constructed. So glad you're enjoying making your second little bunny!!! So glad the videos helped you. 🐰🐰🐰
Thanks for your review. I agree, the patterns are for an intermediate level. I have several of the patterns but I have only knitted one. My time for knitting is not as much as I would like. Very nice video, makes me want to pick my needles right away!
Inspired to knit my first Little Cotton Rabbits pattern, I’ve chosen the girl elephant in a frondy dress… very excited 😊 Your photography is beautiful Elise congratulations 🏴🥃🥃💐🐘 thank you also for the knitting toys guide 🙏🏼
Hello lovely lady across the sea! We’re basking in the virtually tropical temperatures for here in Yorkshire of 14 degrees Celsius, so I may even have to shed my beloved cardigan soon. Totally adore all the darling Little Cotton Rabbit patterns, all truly scrumptious in every way and so lovely to see your gorgeous family of cute characters. Take care and keep sharing your joy 🧶🧵🌸
Had to look up what 14 degrees Celsius was in Fahrenheit!! 😂🌴 I grew up in Florida so I'm very familiar with tropical weather! I also love everything about the Little Cotton Rabbits! Hope you enjoy your heat wave and have some bright sunshine!!! 🌞🌞🌞
Thank you for keeping me up to date on Julie’s wonderful patterns I’ve knit dozens and have learned so much. But they are challenging and take me a couple of weeks also. I didn’t know she’d put out a dog pattern so will be very tempted to order that. First I need to find a market because I have a whole bin full to sell.
I was so excited to see her new pattern! It's so amazing! I really think Julie's a genius! Cannot wait to get started knitting a dog of my own too! 💓🍄🌻
Thank you for talking about these sweet patterns! I’ve knitted several kitties, bunnies, the fox, the elephant, my grandkids love them. They’re such a cute gift and I can continue to make up extra clothes for them as later gifts. I always get the pieces knit up and then fret about assembly, but I quickly am reminded how simple Julie’s made it to bury ends, and put these together. Once did confuse the overalls from Mary Jane’s Tearoom bear and make them up for the Little Cotton Rabbits, which were significantly too big. So I’m glad you mentioned to check sizes of animal and clothing. Thx for being a place where I can find more resources and be encouraged!
Haha! I bet those Mary Janes Tearoom overalls were too big for the LCR patterns! It's pretty interesting the difference in size! You've got some spoiled grand babies!! They are going to treasure your handmade toys forever! 🐰🐰🐰
@@EliseRoseCrochet I kept looking at those overalls thinking, “these sure are big”. Lol. Yes, I love that unlike baby clothes, they can’t outgrow their stuffed toys too soon. And I love letting them pick out which animal they want. So cute to see what they choose. I just found the Berroco Vintage and love it’s sturdiness. I was using Knit Picks Swish, which has a great pallet, but too soft and pills. Thx for the suggestion!

I am so excited that I found your UA-cam channel! I took a class to learn how to knit Little Cotton Rabbits and have made several bunnies for grandkids. I really have wanted to increase my skills in the finishing so thank you for your downloads. I love making the smallest bunny and bear. I am surprised that I love making knitted/crocheted animals. I made Oliver Pig from Susan B. Anderson and her Chicken is next. Thank you, Judy

I also keep, in my carry on handbag, a self-addressed padded envelope, in case I am unable to bring my scissors or knitting needles on the plane. It saves a lot of $$$.
great video Elise. I love Little Cotton Rabbits...although I am more of a crocheter. I purchased one of her patterns years ago...and have never made it. I should dig it out and give it a whirl.
I haven't knit one yet but have wanted to for years! I already have the boy cat pattern and I just signed up to get your free guide so I am going to give it a go! Plus I just became a grandma in February and I need these for grandbabies! 😁
Congratulations! Yes, you definitely need to make these for your grandbaby! Some of the knitters in the Facebook group have shared photos of their collections they have made for grandchildren, which contain full wardrobes! Absolutely amazing! 🐰💓🐰💓
I have done the little girl bunny. She is bigger as I used thicker yarn and bigger needles but she is perfect. I haven’t dived into a second one but would love to. All the different variations I see constantly on the little cotton rabbit pages are amazing.
I love the Little Cotton Rabbit patterns! I have mine in a binder like yours with plastic sheet protectors for each page. I’ve only made one so far (a girl bunny) but I plan to make more. Love this video. Your information is spot on. Thank you!
Hi Elise Thank you for sharing. They are all gorgeous and I wish I had the time to learn now…maybe I’ll put it on my wish list for next year 2024. Love your work. Blessings 🙏🏽💗🧶🐰🐥🕊✝️

Hi , just watched your video on cotton rabbits knitting and I loved it and am now trying to knit one and I’m doing a practice bunny first ! They are so adorable, my rabbit going pretty good ! Thank you for the encouragement! Lorie
Love you videos. I love Julie’s tots. I’ve been making them since Julie first published the pattern. I’ve made over 300 (I’ve quit counting a few years ago) and love each and every one I’ve made! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love them!
Great video Elise, I keep all of my first makes, it reminds me of how far I have come......I will try one of these once I have brushed up on my knitting skills.....x
Love your videos. I have knitted little cotton rabbit patterns before - bunnies for eEaster for my grandchildren. I know plan to make reindeers for their Christmas Eve boxes. Thank you for mentioning how long it takes to knit them, I always underestimate then I’m in a panic to finish! ❤
I love the Bunny, but have not made one as yet. But I remember the Nurse one you made and I wAnt to make one of those. As my Grandmother was a Nurse, I had hoped to become one but it did not work out. I am 65 and disabled now so I will make myself one. Thank you for all the great videos!
Great video! I've made quite a few of the little rabbits, but no other types of animals. I just saw her dog patterns, and totally fell in love with them. I see them in my future, for sure!
I love this episode about LittleCottonRabbits patterns. I have made five Small Rabbits, three girls and two boys. Each one is really different because I used wooden needles for some of them, or metal needles for others. I prefer ChiaoGoo because they are pointy enough but not too sharp that hurt. I also dressed them differently, I love all the different dresses available for these patterns. Now that she published the dog patterns, I’m ready to start making all of them.
I love my ChiaoGoo DPNs and I bet I would like them for flat knitting as well. I've been thinking of getting the interchangeable set but they are so expensive that I want to make sure first. The dog patterns are so adorable!! Can't believe how many different options there are to choose from! 🌻🍄💓
@@EliseRoseCrochet before I purchased the ChiaoGoo interchangeable set, I got a pair of the US 2.5 (3 mm) 4” tips, and a 22” cable to try and decide if I would like at least the small set. Since the small set comes with US 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 tips, the US 2.5 would be a good addition to the set. I loved working with those needles, so I have been buying the different sets available as self gifts for Christmas and birthdays.
I’ve always wanted to knit one so I did buy the Berroco Vintage on your recommendation for it so I will knit one at some point. Your badger looks very distinguished, I’m sure he keeps an eye on all the toys when you’re not about.
Finally!! I am waiting for little cotton rabbit review since it is soo pretty, but too intimidating. between Mary jane's tearoom and little cotton rabbit, which one is more beginner friendly? love your video!! I keep refreshing my youtube to see if you have new video uploaded. Love❤️~
Hello!! I have a video about beginner friendly knitting patterns (I will link below). But I think the Mary Jane's Tea Room patterns are a little easier. That's what I started with. Make sure to purchase the flat knitted bear pattern (she has in the round as well). Here's the beginner knitted toy patterns video: ua-cam.com/video/V8FGe3Uc89g/v-deo.html 💗💗💗
The 9 inch girl bunny was the first thing I ever knit! I wanted to make one SO bad that I taught myself how to knit with it! So maybe not beginner friendly unless you are very stubborn! 😂 (and you encouraged me last year that I could learn!) I like that you used the gray for your badger instead of black I think i like him better.
I am an acceptable knitter. NOT a good one. You are inspiring me to try and tackle one of these patterns. One of these days... I love your badger!! He is precious!!
It took me a long time to feel like I was a proficient knitter, I still have so very much to learn. Thank you about the badger!! I am pretty pleased with how he turned out! 🌻🍄💓
I just bought the small bunny from Little Cotton Rabbits 😳 I’ve started knitting the head of the mini boy bunny and I’m going to push through even though I’m not really a knitter. Im scheduled to start a knitting class in March so I hope to upgrade my skills🧶😳thanks for your help☺️ … Karen from Greenleaf Idaho
Love these patterns. I've been knitting them for several years, starting with bunnies for my granddaughters, and found that I really couldn't knit just one! Can't wait to make a couple of dogs to match my fur-boys! The foxes - have you tried adding a bit of black to the feet and hands? I have, and they look even more fox-like to me. Also, thank you for the Susie Marie colorwork charts - I didn't know about these.
Love everything Little Cotton Rabbits! Thank you for the suggestion of adding the bits of black to the hands and feet! So glad you found Suzy Marie!! She is amazing!!! 🐰🐰🐰
Thank you for the free downloadable guide! The toys are so cute!!! I still don't know how to knit but I am planning on learning in the future. This guide will be so useful when I do! So thank you!
Hi! I really love your videos, your energy is so contagious!!! I was looking for the free guide you're mentioning but could not find any download link on the blog post. I'm really interested in knitting toys (I've been crocheting ones for a couple of years now) and I have made the bunny softie you mentioned in your video for beginners and am ready to step up my game. Have a nice day/evening/night!!!
Thanks for this review!! I am obsessed with these cute little knitted animals!! I have made the Girl Elephant in a frondy frock for my niece with embroidered eyes and my daughter (16 year old!) asked for the Dog in a dress! I was wondering what size safety eyes you recommend for Julie Williams’ largest size animals? It’s hard to tell online! Also, thanks for the video you did on safety eyes!! I love all of your videos & your blog!!
They are such great patterns!! Love anything Julie Williams designs! And I would use a 5 or 6 mm safety eyes of you aren't going to embroider them. Hope that helps! ❤️❤️❤️
I'd like to know specifically what skills are needed to do these rabbits? Are we talking magic loop, kitchener stitch... I don't like dpns but it seems like you should be able to get it done using magic loop. What's the scoop on the techniques? I bought the cinnamon dutch bunny pattern by dot pebbles, the directions look a bit strange. And if I buy the Rowan yarns to make it, it's going to add up. I really liked your dot pebbles bunny. But I'm a bit chicken. I've been knitting for a while, and am on my first ever pair of socks using magic loop, toe up using Judy's magic cast on. So far it's knitting up quickly, not perfect, but it looks good. We'll see once I block them. Thanks for all your help and the videos you make, I really like them.
The Little Cotton Rabbits patterns are basic knitting. They are knit flat so you'll need to know how to knit and purl. You'll also need to mattress seam as well as pick up a few stitches. The patterns are extremely well written and have a lot of information. Hope that helps! 🐰🐰🐰
Do you make these for grown ups or for children? I ask because children will drag them everywhere and get them dirty (At least, I did when I was a kid) and it seems like very expensive/nice yarn for that kind of abuse. (NOT that I’m complaining! They are STUNNING!)
I mostly make them for myself, lol! 😂 I agree that if I was making one for a child to actually play with, I would want a yarn that was more washable! 🧽🧺
I have tried the smallest bunny/bear and the 9 inch bear boy. And I love them so much! Did not know about the dog pattern, so that is for sure the next one Im gonna buy from her! Dogs are just the best!
I was happy with the crochet amigurumi until I saw your knitted ones! They are so precious!! I will be watching your playlist so I can learn how to do this.
I would like to try to knit the the little cotton rabbits patterns. I was learning to knit when I was a young girl but I put it down until I got older then my doctor retired me and I have been doing it a little more. I might try to do one of them.
Bonjour du Québec! J’adore ces petits jouets tricotés! Le petit éléphant est le seul que j’ai fait et je me disais que j’aimerais bien continuer. Vous me voyez encouragée avec votre video! Merci beaucoup!
Hi Elise, I'm so thankful you made this video. I'm curious about your Addi Turbo Rocket circular needles. I'm allergic to nickel so I can't use them, but do you have a recommendation for similar needles that I could use for Little Cotton Rabbits or Mary Jane's Tearoom patterns?
I'm so glad you liked the video! Check out Chiagoo needles as well, I think they are steel, but I could be wrong on that. Also Knitters Pride would be a good brand. You may want to consider a wood, like bamboo. I hope you find the perfect needles for your project!! 🐰🐰🐰

What lucky grandchildren you have!! They definitely take me quite a bit of time, but they are worth every minute!! ❤️❤️❤️
I love the Bunny, but have not made one as yet. But I remember the Nurse one you made and I wAnt to make one of those. As my Grandmother was a Nurse, I had hoped to become one but it did not work out. I am 65 and disabled now so I will make myself one. Thank you for all the great videos!
Ŵhat yarn did you use for the nurse body
Hi Elise. Thanks for the review. These are so cute.
Thank you so much!! 🐰🌻💓🍄
These are so pretty looking forward to making one. Thank you
Wonderful! They are such well written patterns as well! ❤️
Great video! I've made quite a few of the little rabbits, but no other types of animals. I just saw her dog patterns, and totally fell in love with them. I see them in my future, for sure!
The dog ones are so very cute!!! You could make so many different types of dogs! So so adorable!!! 🌻🍄💓
Glad to see you back
Thanks so very much! Been uploading a new video every week, but this is the first one about knitting toys in a while!! 💗🐰💗🐰
That makes sense I do not crochet
@@claudiacano4916 That's really good to know! That you for sharing that information!
Love your videos as always! Also a big fan of Julie’s patters and her stories.
Thank you so much! And I know just how you feel about Julie's patterns. They are so incredible. 🍄💓🌻🐰
I’ve always wanted to knit one so I did buy the Berroco Vintage on your recommendation for it so I will knit one at some point. Your badger looks very distinguished, I’m sure he keeps an eye on all the toys when you’re not about.
These really are wonderful patterns! I highly recommend them!! And he is very mischievous so he's not a very good toy minder! 😂
So adorable😄
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I am very impressed!!!! But when there's a will, there's a way! 😂Thank you about the badger color, I really like the gray as well! 🌻🍄💓
You're so welcome! Knitting isn't so hard, it just takes practice and some patience with yourself! 🍄💓🌻🐰
I just may have to learn how to knit now!!🤗🤗
You definitely should! These are the most adorable patterns!!! Makes me feel like a kid again! 💓🍄🌻
I love all the cotton rabbit patterns never made one ,but will love to try because I love amigurumi
They are such wonderful patterns and I know you will love them!!! Happy Stitching! 🍄💓🌻
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my question!! I’m having so much fun watching all of your videos!! Thanks!!😊
They are all such wonderful patterns! And dogs are so wonderful! I think Jersey would love a knitted version of himself!! Lol! 🌻🍄💓
@@EliseRoseCrochet I totally agree with you! I had a hard time choose which pattern to buy first, I wanted both the bear, the bunny and the cat. :)
@@sockerplinga I know the struggle!
I’ve had trouble shaping face and putting in eyes and mouth! Yes, my first and only try looked strange!
The face is the hardest part! I actually did a whole video about it: ua-cam.com/video/L2muXaJrJDs/v-deo.html Hope it helps!! ❤
I was happy with the crochet amigurumi until I saw your knitted ones! They are so precious!! I will be watching your playlist so I can learn how to do this.
I'm so glad you like them!! It's so much fun to be able to hop back and forth between knitting and crocheting! 🧶🧶🧶
I would like to try to knit the the little cotton rabbits patterns. I was learning to knit when I was a young girl but I put it down until I got older then my doctor retired me and I have been doing it a little more. I might try to do one of them.
They are wonderful patterns! Good luck to you! 🐰🐰🐰
вы так чётко говорите по-английски, что я, с вашей помощью, вспоминаю его и не пользуюсь переводчиком, встроенным в яндекс-браузер, спасибо!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Bonjour du Québec! J’adore ces petits jouets tricotés! Le petit éléphant est le seul que j’ai fait et je me disais que j’aimerais bien continuer. Vous me voyez encouragée avec votre video! Merci beaucoup!
Vous êtes très bienvenu! 💖
Простите, я конечно ничего не понимаю, что Вы говорите. Но я в восторге от работ😃😃😃💝
Огромное спасибо! 🌻🍄💓
@@EliseRoseCrochet Thank you so much for these recommendations! I will look into it. (P.s. I watch ALL your videos and just love everything you do. Keep up the great work :)
Hi, Just found your channel. Excited to try a knitted animal. I tried the link for the downloadable knitting toys guide and it doesn’t work for me. I also tried a search on your website without success 😢 Could you help me discover what I did wrong? Thanks!
Here's the link to the blog post. Scroll down until you see the box to put in your email address. If you have any other problems, email me at lepetitsaintcrochet@gmail.com. 🌻💓🍄
Thank you for all your lovely video. I was inspired by all your stories. I started making crochet amigurumi a few months ago following Pica Pau and other patterns. However I am afraid to start knitting toys. Please advice which pattern should I follow to make a start.
Hello! I made a video about Knitted Toy Patterns for Beginners, which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/V8FGe3Uc89g/v-deo.html Hope that helps! 🌻💓🍄
thank you
I love my bunny from you 💗 it's on my list to try but you know those socks just keep calling me 🤣😘😘
I was just with a lovely group of knitters and they were all talking about the Crazy Sock Lady on UA-cam! I'm thinking of doing her Summer Sock Camp 2021! 💓🍄🌻
@@EliseRoseCrochet yes I've heard of that too, I might look into it. Meanwhile at the Castle have very good kals both dpn and magic loop too. Hope you give it a go, you know where to find me if you get stuck but I know you can easily make them 😘😘
@@DawnsDays do you like DPNs or Magic Loop for knitting socks?
The Rowan kidsilk haze is only 2ply. Did you double up on the yarn and knit with two strands at a time? I'm curious to know how you made it work out the same? 🤓🙏
I used the Rowan Kidsilk Haze combined with the Rowan Kid Classic! I hope that makes more sense!! ❤️🐰❤️🐰❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet Oh awesome! Yes this makes it much clearer. Thank you xx
CONGRATULATIONS ….. ❤🫂🫂🫂

Have you ever came across or have ever Crocheted a walrus? My niece loves them
I have not, but check out Natura Crochet on Instagram. I believe she has a pattern for one. 🌊🐠🦀
I tried to find her but couldn't. Man I have a picture that was free but idk how to trunk it in to a grid
I’ve knit a lot of socks and a sweater.. do you think I have the skills to make these?
Absolutely!! The patterns are so well written and with your experience you'll do great! 🧶🧶🧶
Do you have the link to suzie Marie’s revelry page? 😊
Oooh! Thank you for reminding me to add that! Here's the link: www.ravelry.com/projects/suzymarie 🐰🐰🐰
Does suzie marie knits have a mod for dresses to have a fuller skirt?
Yes! She has the dress modification plus tons of different colorwork charts for the dresses! Here's the link: www.ravelry.com/projects/suzymarie/bunny-dress-modifications 💓🌻🍄
Can you use10ply wool for the rabbit
Is there any crochet ones iam not a knitter.
