I, too, am a fairly new knitter, a fairly crafty person, and a crocheter who was always interested in knitting but never had the confidence to begin until I watched Fruity Knitting. I watched all the episodes, grieved when Andrew died (even though I was watching it a year late), and once I reached the end of the Fruity Knitting episodes I needed a knitting fix! I have been skating around various knitting podcasts/vlogs/shows/episodes - whatever they're called - but none have felt right. None were 'me'. Knit Together with Kim & Jonna is the right fit! You two ladies are beautiful, your friendship is beautiful, your knitting is inspiring, and I am thankful I landed here. Keep it up and thank you!
Knitting and children are so fun! A little girl at my church was showing me her sucker. So I asked her what flavor it was, and she told me it was white. I asked her if it was pineapple? She decided it was. Made me smile.
Enjoyed this episode as much as #1. Jonna, you are so brave with your color-work knitting. I am a chicken. Kim your grandchildren are adorable. On to episode 3 💛
I know, right? I actually bought the same bag in blue for a very dear friend for Christmas. It's like butter! And you can contact Pick Up Every Stitch if you want one. ;) ~Kim
I just found out a few days ago why it's called frogging... I never knew and wondered by pulling it out and redoing it is called frogging... rip-it, rip-it, rip-it. I laughed and laughed. 71 and I never stop learning, LOL. I didn't realize you were fairly new doing a podcast. I'm loving you guys so much.. I found you and have gone backwards to catch all your video. thanks so much. love, hugs, prayers.
I’ve watched several of your videos, and I can’t believe how prolific you are! I’ve knit for years and haven’t branched out much or tried anything really challenging. I consider myself a mediocre knitter. I want to up my skills, but am afraid I can’t. Maybe finding a knitting group would help. I’m just so impressed with you both! Especially Jonna who’s only knit a few years.
Really enjoyef your first two episodes. Your projects, cheerfulness, set design aka the lys, and photography. Also I could hear you as volume is lower on the new phone. Nice that the store owners are there to answer questions and the lighting is great. Whoever zooms in on detail, and your demonstrating a cable stitch--fabulous.
Oops sorry half finished the comment before. Not quite cold enough here on the south coast of Australia. Very windy so DK is as heavy as we get usually.
Wow! How wonderful! Thank you for your joy and passion for knitting as a way to create meaningful connections in community. You have a lot of new friends and I am one of them!
I’m from Texas and we don’t have yarns stores in my city. I loved hearing that you were on vacation and stopped at Must Love Yarn. I order from them online and consider them my local yarn shop! Oh, and they have a podcast called, MUST LOVE YARN.
Where in Texas do you live? I lived in North Texas for many years. My kids still live there. I know there is a yarn shop in McKinney and one in Fort Worth. We'll check out the podcast, thank you!
My favourite thing this time is Jonna’s Koivua, (I couldn’t spot the mistake in the time we had) I love the colours especially the green. The baby knits were adorable too and so are the grandchildren how cute 🥰
Watching you from the beginning after seeing the socks episode first - I love your back and forth, absolutely no idea you were so recently into podcasting, you’re both (and the grand babies) and purl the dog in the previous episode are all lovely interruptions 😊 ps I’m working on colourwork socks as I watch and I’ve gone back and sewn in what I’ve done so far for the first time 😊
I am so happy to have found you ladies and I love your energy together! Hello from New Brunswick, Canada (wave). I'm Kim too! Very interesting projects, gorgeous grandkids and the shop you are filming in is delightful. See you next time!
We’re happy you found us too! It’s kind of a miracle since we just started this adventure. :) Thanks for loving our projects, grandkids, and local yarn shop! If you’re ever in Westchester County, NY, stop in the shop for a visit! And let us know when you’re coming so we can meet you there.
Just found you two and right away have to watch the other 2. I love the teaching you both do by talking about your projects! Building my confidence to give one of these sweaters a go. Thank you!
The missing green bits in the second pattern from the top down and can be quickly corrected with double stitches. Jonna, the sweater is beautiful. The crocheted scarf is stunning Kim. Nice to meet you ladies. Hello from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada
Yes! So true about the green bits but Jonna completely ran out of that yarn. 😬 😂 ❤️ Oh well. It’s even more charming and lovely since it’s not perfect. And by the way, Hello from NY! ~ Kim
Hello from NY!!! We’re so happy you found us too! Especially since we’re both West Coast girls like you. Jonna is from California and I’m from the other Vancouver in Washington. ❤️
I just found your podcast and I am binging up a storm! Thanks for the fun. Love your sweaters! Also I have learned some wonderful tips from you both by watching.
The first time I decided to weave in my ends as I knit, I had to rip back and couldn’t find any of my woven in ends and it ended up being a disaster so ever since then I wait until I’m sure I won’t need to rip anything back.
Just found your podcast on the Ranunculus episode and am now watching another episode and love it! I have only knit 2 pairs of socks as I find them too thick when wearing them in my shoes. You are inspiring me, though to start knitting socks again! A friend suggested to address the 2nd sock syndrome to knit one section of the sock and go and knit this same section on the 2nd sock. If you do this for the whole sock, section by section, you will have 2 finished socks at the end! It means having 2 sets of sock needles but it is worth it!
Great idea! We just filmed a sock minisode and it will air this Friday at 10:00am EST. I even mention you (but not by name) in the video. I talk about how you don’t like to wear hand knit socks because they are too thick in your shoes. So thank you for commenting!!! ❤️ Kim
It takes me hours to get through one video. Because I keep running off to see the websites you have linked to each project!! So much fun. And I don’t know how to knit yet. I have been tasked to make socks for our baby girl (baby to us but she’s 17 now). Thank you for all the inspiration!
Love your podcast . Found you today and binge watched all the episodes . So good to see all your different projects . Looking forward to your next episode . Podcasting is harder than it looks I agree . I did two then it took me months to pluck up the courage to film another , once you get going it’s good fun and so lovely to be part of the knitting community
Are you a podcaster too? I'll have to look you up. We can't believe how much time shooting/editing takes. Ugh. But it's so fun to knit and chat and get to know other knitters from all over the world. ~ Kim
I am watching this on Dec. 23rd . . . and am knitting a sock for NEXT (2022) Christmas gifting ;-) since I didn't finish it for this Christmas. Better late than never!
Jonna really caught my attention when she said the Costco in Brookfield! We are neighbors!! I’m in Danbury 😍. Also someone did the same shout out to me with my nordiska at a garlic festival in 2019! So glad you showed up in my feed!!
Hi!!!! That Costco is our favorite! My kids just bought a house in Redding. The Nordiska has been in my queue forever. It is a gorgeous sweater! I bought some Magpie Fibers for it. So glad you found us! ~Jonna
Hello from the west coast of Canada. So glad to have found you two. And it's fun to hear you talk about Westchester and New England, where my U.S. born grandfather's family lived for a century! Thanks for you sharing your family with us in photos and on the videos. I'm madly trying to finish a couple of hats which will be Xmas gifts for my grandchildren.
Hello from NY! But both Jonna and I are West Coast girls, California and Washington respectively. So happy you found us and hope you keep watching. Good luck finishing those Christmas gifts! ❤️
Kim you could try - to crochet up the side of your button band on a size or two smaller crochet hook with a smaller ply if possible too - to bring your button band back to size.
Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for your suggestion! I probably should get different buttons again, but I absolutely love the buttons I have. As fall approaches and the temperatures drop and I am tempted to wear it again, I'll definitely have to figure something out. :) Kim
I’m doing my Christmas knitting while watching you for the 1st time. I’m making the Handmaid’s Tale Mittens by knittinglotta for my radical daughter. I really enjoy your knits! Hitting the subscribe button and hope I see those lovely grandbabies again.
I just looked up the pattern! Very cool. I made my first mittens this year. The Selbu Mittens from Skeindeer. So glad you found us and are enjoying our channel and I'm sure Kim's grandchildren will video bomb us again soon! Her daughter, Elena, helps us with all of the technical stuff! Merry Making! Jonna
So, that's actually one of the things Kim and I freaked out about when we first met!! My daughter's middle name is Elena after my Grandma, Elena! Isn't it a beautiful name??
Another fun episode! I am a solid fan of the heel and gusset also. I've tried many different ways but the heel and gusset just fits me the best. I'm also a big fan of knitting things two at a time.....socks, sleeves, gloves, hats, mittens....but I have not yet done sweaters two at a time. I'm intrigued though. Will have to give that a try. Beautiful baby knits and adorable grand kids!
I really want to try to knit TAAT socks! I bought a really long circular so that I could try. Now that I am proficient at magic looping, I need to give it a go. Especially, since we all know now, that I am not very good about taking notes while I knit. It would be nice to have a pair that are exactly the same! Thank you for you sweet compliment on Kim's LO's. Jonna
I’m happy I just discovered your podcast! Love it, love your projects and the yarn they are made of. The chemistry between the both of you is endearing, it is a pleasure to spend time with you while knitting a Christmas gift for my sister, the Untangled shawl. Looking forward to watch a lot more! Happy Holidays!
I live in a rural area of Spain and have no LYS or local knitting friends, so these videos are so much fun for me to watch! Jonna, I'm sorry, but I did notice the colorwork "reinterpretation", but that can be our little secret (and the green distracts the eye anyway!). Kim, the layette sets are gorgeous - beautiful stitch definition on those cables (good call!). My Christmas knitting includes garter rib sweaters for my sons and lots of wool hats for their college roommates (in MA). Great job, ladies!
Carmen - We’re so happy you’re enjoying our videos! And yes, Jonna’s little colorwork mistake(s) just give her sweater more personality. Wow! You’re doing a lot of Christmas knitting!!! We hope you finish all of it in time! Happy Knitting! ❤️ Kim & Jonna
Jonna, I just love the kovua sweater on you! The colors you’ve picked out look great. And the size fits you so perfectly, and you didn’t swatch? Wow 🤩. Can I ask, how did you learn to strand knit? What was your first project that you learned to strand knit? I’ve never done it and am intimidated by the whole process. I too am new to knitting, for about three years. Thank you and I am really enjoying watching you both!
Hi Yuet! I'm so sorry I didn't see this comment until just now. No I didn't swatch, but I had made the Soldotna (also by CH) so I had an idea of her sizing and fit. My first stranded knitting project was a Pokémon ball for my grandsons! It turned out terribly! I would just say to practice like anything else. I like Kristin's (Voolenvine Channel) video on stranded colorwork. I've tried holding one color in each hand and also two colors in my left, which I prefer. Just jump in and try it! ~jonna
You went to Must Love Yarn! So envious. Did you know they also have a podcast? In case you need new ones to add... I'm so enjoying getting to know you two. Keep going with the channel, please!
Great fun. Please share the gleaner y'all purchased. I did notice the colorwork error in Jonna's Koivua almost immediately, but I knit a lot of colorwork. If it really bothers you it's easy enough to fix with duplicate stitch.
Hello ladies, glad I stumbled onto your podcast. Such beautiful knits ladies. I do gift knits for xmas. I knit socks for my children and partners and grandchildren. each family gets matching pattern and colour. I generally knit ornaments to match with the left overs as well. since I have a week til xmas I decided probably enough time to throw in some hats as you do.
Your cardigans are both gorgeous. I absolutely love Anne Ventzel's patterns, she is an amazing designer. I have a couple of her patterns to knit in 2022. Wish I could do two at a time sleeves..............on my goal list to do. The satisfaction must be amazing when you are done with both sleeves at the same time.
Thank you! I'm (Jonna) currently drooling over her Cardi V-Neck sweater. Have you seen it? It's gorgeous. I even bought yarn for it! Which sweaters are on your list?
Hello Kim & Jonna, I happened upon your channel and I'm really enjoying your videos! I watched a current video yesterday and today I am starting from the beginning. Your work is lovely and the way you speak about it is so inspiring. Guess what... we're neighbors! I live in South Salem and when you mention certain places I am right there with you. One last thing, a question for Kim. Are you a Virgo by any chance? Thanks for sharing your amazing knits and stories! Lorraine 🧶🧶🧶
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna Kim has some some Virgo tendencies... or I have some Gemini tendencies. LOL I must watch videos in chronological order. Hope to see you both soon!
I see the mistake once you zoomed in but would have left it too. Easy to say as I'm unpicking a ribbed cuff. Why do I tell myself "one more row" when I know I am over tired? Oh well. Christmas knitting for me was all about hats. I made up 2 pattern with limited success then used 1 pattern to make 4 different hats & another pattern to do the last one & now i am making up handwarmer mitts to go with it. Once 4 rows of ribbing get finished, the 2nd will begin.
Love your podcast. You play off each other perfectly. Yes, I picked out the booboo in the yoke. The bottoms of the green fleurs (?) are missing on the left side . Still… so beautiful.
Just recently found you two and it’s been so lovely. I have no LYS or knitting friends so it’s wonderful to add to my UA-cam list of delight. Podcasts have been my best friends throughout this last 18 months since I picked up knitting. Love your friendship and your projects 🥰🙏
We're so sorry you don't have a LYS. Maybe you can come visit ours someday? And yes, UA-cam channels have been a lifesaver during this crazy global pandemic. ~ Kim
What do you film on? Tablet/ phone or camera ? I really appreciate how you talk about the things you make prepare and methods. Its nice to know I’m not the only person who feels self conscious and will frog but if I do it again and read the pattern and still have problems I figure out how to fix my such count and make it a feature nor hope no one notices. On my case no one notices. They are blown away at my progression from piece to piece, but do not notice mistakes because no one I know knits. So sad. You are so lucky to have each other. My husband helps me figure things out math wise he’s very much better at math than me and better at followings patterns However, being retired from all that not halving any knitting friends near me, sucks. Thanks so much.
Love your podcast ❤️ what are you wearing on the first photo (Episode 2) the white ranunculus and the violette??? Best regards from Austria/Portugal/Europe
Another great video, thank you both! Jonna, can you tell me the name of the heel of the lilac socks? I knit a lot of socks, but I've never seen one like this! Maybe you said it and I didn't understand, English is not my first language. Many thanks and greetings from La Palma by Astrid 🌴
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna dear Jonna, thank you sooooo much! Yes, it helps me, there is a video in English where i can learn it. I think in Germany this technique is unknown…🤷🏼♀️I will try it soon, I have so much fun to watch your videos💚❤️🧡💛💙
Good eye! Actually, the arrows with "feet" are correct and the footless ones are mistakes. Someday, when I find my leftover yarn, I'll ask Kim to teach me how to make a duplicate stitch! Thank you for watching! Jonna
Oh wow! I had no idea! Thank you for letting us know. I think you mean "gleaning"? It's a method of removing pills from sweaters using a brush kind of thing called a gleaner. Hope this helps! J
I love watching your Podcasts. Best regards from Austria/Portugal/Europa…..What is the pattern for your KIM violett sweater from the first picture? I didńt find the name. Thanks a lot an hope for many podcasts 2022.
Yay, Austria! I love Austria! And I used to work on a cruise ship so I've been all around Europe. The pattern is the Snowbell Top by Sandnes Garn. I'll try to include the link here. Unfortunately, the last time I checked it wasn't available on Ravelry. Happy knitting! ~ Kim www.sandnes-garn.com/2104-09
Yes. So incredibly sad. If you watch to the end of Episode 1, we have an “In Memory” pic. We didn’t know if we should mention it or not during the episode, but obviously chose not to. We were heartbroken and praying for him as soon as we heard the diagnosis and throughout his treatment. We are both patrons and continue to love and support Andrea and Madeleine. He is so missed…
Yep I see it! I made a mistake on my trial Ranunculus on the round that looks like a little chain running around the yoke, only half of mine looks like a little chain🥴 d’oh … just going to have to learn from my mistakes 🧶
We still make multiple mistakes in every single project. The question always is, to leave it, try to "fix" it, or to rip it out, and that decision depends on many other factors. But accepting that mistakes are an inevitable part of the knitting process is an important step toward knitting happiness. Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤️K&J

So glad to have found your channel, you’re both very relaxing and incredible crafters 😊
Thank you so much! And we’re happy you found us too. ❤️
It's official! I'm a fan (but not in a weird creepy way! LOL!) Looking forward to your next video!
Yay! And 😂 (not in a weird creepy way) so funny. ❤️
Yes! Loved the shop but haven’t seen their UA-cam channel yet. I’ll have to check it out. ❤️ Kim
I too love Florence's patterns. So sad they don't fit longer
Great fun. Please share the gleaner y'all purchased. I did notice the colorwork error in Jonna's Koivua almost immediately, but I knit a lot of colorwork. If it really bothers you it's easy enough to fix with duplicate stitch.
Thank you! Yes, I could fix it if I could find the rest of the yarn! I'm in the middle of a yarn reorg! The depiller we have is a Gleener on the Go.
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna lol. Well it looks fantastic regardless. Thanks for the info on the depiller!
I found your podcast when doing some post Christmas knitting. I love your knitting aesthetic. I also love to visit a knit shop on vacation
Wow!!! You definitely put my Christmas knitting to shame. 😂 ~Kim
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna yes it is spectacular. I have the Diamond Jumper, Cozy cowl and just got the Hilly Hood for gift knitting
Another great show!
Thank you, Vanessa!!! ❤️
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna you're welcome
Enjoyed your podcast, looking forward to your next one.....Kristen R.
Yay! Editing our next video right now. ❤️ It will air on Friday at 10:00 am EST.
Love your podcast!❤️❤️❤️
Yay! Thank you! :)
I love knitting socks!
Yay! Did you enter our Sock Yarn Giveaway? See our Sock Yarn video published today on 12/17/21.
Just found you ladies and love you both
Yay! We ❤️ that you’re watching.
All of your projects are so beautiful! Don’t worry about noise in the background. Did you watch The Grocery Girls this summer!!! 😂😂😂
He neighbor! Maybe we will run into you someday! Kim is a Gemini and I am a Libra. Thank you for your sweet comment. Jonna
Wow!!! Your Christmas knitting is SO INSPIRING! I (Kim) barely knitted 2 hats so far. 😂
I made hats with reflective yarn for the whole family. Six of them.
What!?!?! Reflective yarn? I’ve never even heard of that. What’s the brand? And you made six? Go YOU!
❤️ Kim
Grosgrain ribbon on the reverse of the button side will stop the growth from the weight of the buttons.
So true! But I’m too lazy to sew it in. 😂
❤️ Kim
Love your podcast. You play off each other perfectly. Yes, I picked out the booboo in the yoke. The bottoms of the green fleurs (?) are missing on the left side . Still… so beautiful.
Thank you. ❤️ And yes, even with the little booboos, Jonna’s Koivua is GORGEOUS! ~Kim
~ Kim
That's your 2019 Rhinebeck sweater???? You've only been knitting 2yrs....!! 🤔🤔 It's fabulous!
Yes! Thank you! I tell everyone that I dropped out of grad school (true) to knit!!
How lovely that your husband helps you! We use a DSLR camera to film.
Love your podcast ❤️ what are you wearing on the first photo (Episode 2) the white ranunculus and the violette??? Best regards from Austria/Portugal/Europe
The crosses in the yoke? Love your podcast!
Yes! You got it!
Yes. Found the mistake. Duplicate stitch it easy peasy!
Yep, finding the little scrap I have left over will be the hard part!
Thank you, Astrid! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Those socks have a "heel flap and gusset" construction. I hope this helps! Jonna
Double arrows in the yoke? Great video!
Good eye! Actually, the arrows with "feet" are correct and the footless ones are mistakes. Someday, when I find my leftover yarn, I'll ask Kim to teach me how to make a duplicate stitch! Thank you for watching! Jonna
Hi. I put gross grain ribbon behind button bands.
Becky! That is such a great idea and I (Kim) love how it looks, but I'm too lazy to do it. Haha!
Aw! Yes. There are “crosses” instead of “plants” on the left side of the upper yoke.
Yes! You found it! 🎉
i really enjoy your podcast and everything about it. I would love to live near you girls and knit with yo. Nice energy
🥰 Thank you! And we wish you lived near us too. Hopefully knitting together with us while watching our videos is the next best thing. ❤️
I am new to your channel; you were mentioned on Kitty Natty and wanted to check it out. Could you share what is “gleaming”? Thanks in advance
Oh wow! I had no idea! Thank you for letting us know.
I think you mean "gleaning"? It's a method of removing pills from sweaters using a brush kind of thing called a gleaner. Hope this helps! J
Had a great time watching you two .keep up the knitting fun
Thank you for tuning in! Jonna
Do you have any suggestions for weaving in ends for knitting as you go?
Hi Rachel! Have you watched the "weavin' Stephen" video? I'll link it here. I hope this helps. J

@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna thank you so much for the suggestion!
I wrapped yarn for a hat one Christmas and gave it to my son, when he opened it he said “ Mom, what the heck am I going to do with this 😊
😂 Glad I'm not the only one. But the big question is, did you actually knit the hat? 😜❤️😘Kim
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna I did Kim, and he loves them.💕
I love watching your Podcasts.
~ Kim

The crosses have lost their feet...Super 😉
You got it!!! Woohoo! 🎉
Left the bottom bar off the first row.
Yep! Kim is going to help me fix it as soon as I can locate the leftover yarn (which might be a challenge!).
Is the mistake a missing bottom cross?
Yep!!
Missing the stripe on two crosses.
Yep!!
All that lovely worsted. Not cold enough here for it, so ja
Honestly, it's barely cool enough here in NY! Absolutely no snow. Thank you for watching! ~Jonna
Rip rip rip ripped ri
I'm sorry to say that Andrew Doig has died of cancer. Andrea is now doing Fruity Knitting with her daughter.
Yes it’s noticeable but an easy fix, duplicate stitch .
Yes, I really need to get Kim to watch me do it the first time. Actually, I need to find the remaining skein of yarn!! Thank you for tuning in. Jonna
Kudos Kim and Jonna, on another fantastic episode!
