Lol YOU DONT HAVE TO RUSH!!! Yes I knit hair into my projects constantly. My friend joked when she gave me a baby blanket she crocheted but didn’t wash, “there’s my hair, dog hair, cat hair, probably a chicken feather but you have all that at your house too so you’ll be fine” 😂I love her. And you guys. And knitting! ❤️

Hi Kim and Jonna. I am enjoying your videos. I am knitting and crocheting again at the age of 75 and am enjoying it so much. I finished crocheting two afghans, one for my daughter and one for my 11 year old granddaughter. I am teaching my 17 year old daughter and my 11 year old granddaughter to knit. They are doing great. Both of you are great knitters. Your items that you made are beautiful. Take Care.😊

I’ve recently subscribed, so I am speeding through the numbered episodes, then will catch up on the “extras”. Thanks for all the good info you give. I used to live near Troublesome Creek in Knott County, Ky. Back in the 30’s-40’s a lot of lady missionaries would ride on mules to get to the isolated communities for start Sunday Schools. We spent 13 years in the area and made many wonderful friends.

Thank you for mentioning your "cast on mistake". Quite a lot of native speakers say "casted" and I've alraedy looked it up several times because I thought there was sth. wrong with my memory or that I was too old to notice that language has changed (I'm 66 and German). I absolutely love your podcast. It's always very inspiring, funny, entertaining and helpful. XXX Claudia.

Kim, with your beautiful yarn you could make a Seaglass tee! It’s basically a “scrappy” sweater, but it would show how well your colours work together because of the way they all mix together.

Really appreciated the thoughts about changing plans - I moved 3000km last year, and now all of my shawl plans have morphed into jumper/sweater plans. I was feeling a bit weird recently about having all sorts of single skeins that I didn't know what to do with, but I've actually been having so much fun taking them all out and putting them together in new ways. I'm at the point where I LOVE nearly everything in my stash which makes it much easier (there's one annoying skein that I bought to put with a jumper quantity which I ended up selling, RIDICULOUS decision, so it reminds me of that every time I look at it).

I say "I knitted this sweater" too, Kim. It's not "incorrect"; it's a regional variation. So is saying "spit" (rather than "spat") for the past tense of "spit". It's all good.

Glad you were finally able to broadcast. I just cast on my Dingley Dell. Funny you should talk about Grammar. About a month ago I looked up the past tense of "knit" and "Cast". The formal (British) past tense of Knit is Knit. However, "knitted" is acceptable in the US/North America. However, past tense of "cast" is "cast.

      Hello
I was so sorry to here about your husband, Kim. My daughter is almost 30 and has had epilepsy since she was a child. About 6 years ago her doctor implanted a Vagus Nerve Simulator. It has made a life changing different. I am not sure if your husband would be a candidate but it is worth asking about. Love you guys. Your sweaters are beautiful. Love your podcast!!

That’s how my test was May 1… barely a line and my daughters both answered my texts with “that’s like you’re a little bit pregnant mom” 😂😂😂 It wasn’t so bad except for the first 2 days, but this darned tickle cough is still with me! It’s just a nuisance. But glad you’re all well now and back podcasting. Love your makes…and your stories… and your enthusiasm. Congratulations on a lovely successful podcast.

I am in KAL and the sweater is so interesting to knit but I am a slow knitter, I hope to finish by the end of August! I also love the idea of wearing a sweater over a dress, what a great idea! I am also knitting the Yume but I don't love the doubling of the yarn. I might frog and try again. Thank you for the inspiration.

Jonna - because you said you timed your Purl rows…..For Dingley Dell I am in the Purl rows after sleeve separation and I took 10 minutes on the Purl rows. I’m a thrower and not a particularly fast knitter although I am methodical and have a stable rhythm. Just FYI for your questioning about other knitters experiences. Now onto joining in the round! Hello. I just found your channel and I love everything about it! I have binged watched you all weekend. I love seamed sweaters and appreciates that Kim likes them too. They fit me so much better than any other type sweater and it is rare to see them featured on a channel. Nothing more satisfying than a beautiful mattress stitch seam! However I am going to knit a Ranunculus soon because you two both rave about the fit. …. I am hoping it will be the first raglan sleeve that I actually like on me.

Hi Kim, about your Yume, I had the same problem with my Yume of "excess yarn under the arms", as you put it. In my view, it's that the underarm is too low. I corrected this with some surgery (Fruity Knitting explains this very well). I took out about 3 cm (a little over 1 inch) of stockinette just after the lace, then Kitchener-stitched the 2 parts back together. Obviously, if you're knitting a new Yume, just do the sleeve-body split a few cm earlier.

I loved the conversation about how we acquire yarn and patterns and changing our minds. Early on I felt like I should not repeat patterns. It seemed like I was supposed to be making something new and different each time. While I do knit a variety of patterns but I have also realized that my t-shirts all have the same neckline but different colors and lengths so why not do something similar in my knitting. It has been very freeing.
    Love "Gradma crop"!

Hi Nanette! The Sea Glass was my first thought, but I don't have enough yarn to make it as is. I would have to make it slightly cropped with shorter sleeves, or supplement with a similar yarn that would "match" my hand-dyed yarn. :) Kim

Take care, be well until we visit you on the next one. 💞👋🏻

Kim, I am doing the After the Storm Cardigan by Kelly Fowler. She has you hold 10 sts either side of the front and back at underarms. Then you Kitchener them together before proceeding with the sleeve. Maybe something like that would help reduce the amount of fabric under the arms. It means you have 40 less stitches in that underarm bodice. Not sure how that would translate to a circular yoke but I’m sure you could make it work.

Hi Ladies! I always enjoy your podcasts! The longer the better is what “floats my boat”. I read the book and saw the movie for Where the Crawdad’s Sing. I loved both, although I may have enjoyed the book just a little more. ( maybe because I read it first, and just adored it). I tried to listen to The Book Woman…but just couldn’t do it. Probably because of the narrator…and I’m a reader! I, too, would like to see Mrs. Harris goes to Paris. Now, to knitting…your sweaters are beautiful that you knit. I’m still working on my Ranunculus, I’m to the split for the sleeves, and am just nervous…so it has been sitting in a basket for months. I guess I’m just loving socks right now. I’d love to make the summer sweater , but figure if I can finish the Ranunculus, I probably couldn’t handle this. Odd thing is, I think I’m past the more challenging parts. So, as I ramble on…I’m going to get back to it ASAP. I, too, had the virus. But it wasn’t bad at all. I was tired, and had a dull headache first, then I got a sore throat and a cough. I managed to get a uti with it which was the worst part of all. But as soon as the antibiotic worked, I was fine. Every symptom went away. So 2 days were rough. My husband who is not vaccinated, was my biggest worry. But he did not get it! It took 11 days for a negative reading. I was really bored, and just didn’t feel like doing anything. Not because I hurt, I was just tired. So, I can say I’ve had it. Thankful for the vaccine which made it manageable as I am a diabetic. I have always wanted to order a kit from Barrett wool, and am eager to see yours knit up! Both of you enjoy the rest of your month, and being with your families. I will look forward to your next podcast! You make me want to knit, knit, knit! ❤️🧶❤️🧶😉

The headache was wicked! I hope you're feeling better soon. I put an ice pack on the back of my head (base of skull) and that seemed to help a little. I do feel like the vaccine helped us recover faster even though it didn't prevent infection. Oh well!
