I now really want an ongoing series called How Many Will Die, with Stephen Fry, where you do analysis of various possible disaster scenarios.
The Future of Life Institute (great thinkers like Tegmark and Bostrom) is planning to work with us on Pindex videos about existential risks (AI, nuclear, bio etc). Thumbs up if you like the idea.
@@Pindexsf I like it, although please be kind to the poor AIs, said the AI scientist.
@@Pindexsf I like that they are both Swedes like me :D
I prefer lighter side of Stephen (preferably teamed with Hugh)
Episode One: The queen and Ted Cruz pull off their skin-suits, revealing their true lizard selves, and begin devouring all of those around them. How Many Will Die before they get full and fall asleep?
Stay safe, stay well Stephen.
Stephen fry is just a national treasure
Hey, 😡
I'm French, and Stephen is my treasure too. ❤️
*worldly treasure
A Gent in every sense👍🌹🇳🇿
Ask him about god
Dont be taken Hes a snobby ex con.
It’s strange that everyone seems to think loneliness and isolation from other humans are the same thing. I’ve felt much less lonely since I stopped having a social life.

There is so much you can do at home. I'm never bored. Creative people aren't😷😃🐶
That's called meditation or practising mindfulness. If we could all do that regularly, if we had enough time I'm sure the world would become a much better place in time
Thank you Stephen Fry and your team. Your voice did calm me down even the content was terrifying and I hope many people will get the message.

"Theres a lot to be said for making people laugh. Did you know, that that's all some people have? It isn't much, but it's better than nothing". .
..... facts..
"The Hitchhikers Guide to the Coronavirus" The warm, soothing and familiar voice of Stephen Fry... making me think for a second that Covid 19 is actually a distant planet... but a hostile planet to be avoided all the same. Great upload thank you. STAY AT HOME people, yet stay in touch.
DON’T PANIC
Stephen fry is the right person to trust and listen too.
I love this man's voice.
Fry has always been a bastion of truth, civility and reason. I wish him good health in the years to come.
The AJ Is that way he went to prison for fraud ?
@@rolandhawken6628 Yes. He learned from his mistakes in his "penitentiary" evidently. If more were like him, Christians would actually make sense through their deeds instead of their words...
@@Emanon... In prison they just learn how not to get caught . You do realise he is completely anti Christian . Just what Christian deeds has he done ?He spouts this nonsense because he is a lefty .
Thanks Stephen and team. Informative and calming compared to the other covid videos.
In all the madness & panic...something about Stephens voice that makes things in some way manageable...reason prevails and a settling calmness envelopes... what a remarkable ability.
"If you touch it, you buy it", that makes a lot of sense to me.
This also means for marriages 🤭
I wish people did this already!
As a sale associate before our stores closed, it was cringey how many people kept touching stuff!
Paul Youdell If you touch it so have other people so.......
I trust Stephen fry. A true light in the ever-growing fog.
Constantly amazes me how smart, kind and thoughtful he is.
Here's hoping they have him locked away in a tower or panic room, so he can't catch the coronavirus 😂
@@davidodonovan6141 He caught Conrona-madness that's for sure
Your voice is comforting!
I've always respected you since I was a young lad. You're a breath of fresh air and we need you now, more than ever before.
Stay alive Steve
This is the kind of calm, advice and debate that we need. Not upsetting, sensationalist news. Like if you agree, or just nod.
Thanks to Stephen Fry and Pindex for great narration, useful information and encouraging words.
Thanks for the calm, measured perspective.
Stephen Fry like Morgan Freemans’ voice gives me calm in a hectic time.
Rob Smith Yes, there are similarities in the calming nature of both men’s voices, with the two different accents of course, but both soothing to listen to.
You guyz ... get a room
That Friends gif though... 😂
>gif
OMG The Friends meme at the end is sooo on point 😂😂😂😂 did not expect that 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah!
Stephen fry has such a pleasant voice I've listened to him reading me the harry potter series 3 times now and I'm still not bored with them :)
For anyone interested, this music is called What an Interesting Creature, by "evolv"
Thanks, I had this in my playlist some time ago but for some reason removed it. Now I rediscovered it thanks to you! :)
Never thought I'd live in a time when it was easier to get a bag of Heroin than a roll of toilet paper..
Pretty sure the heroin's all out too. Weed's gone already.
Weed won't run out here .It grown locally..👌
It’s interesting. Someone should do a video essay on it! Hoarding I comes from not having your needs met, and elimination is a base need. Humans need to have a safe place to go before almost anything else. Think about your last camping trip. You peeped out the latrine fairly early. All of us do.
Hail the free market...
Anyone who's hoarding toilet roll hasn't discovered the joy of Andrex moist toilet tissue (not a paid promotion : ).
Nicely done, once again. Stephen and Pindex.
Excellent ❤️
I'll click on anything that has Steven Fry in the title, besides all of the times he's made me laugh, or made me think he can also help me calm down
Very calming... Thank you. (In isolation Brussels)
Me like Pindex stuff and Mr. Fry's narration but the concluding meme of this has me in stitches!
Helpful and much appreciated
You could do more work with Stephen Fry about our current set of crises, since we are getting very little good information
Including the economic and social problems that are going to land on us next month, April, and for the rest of this year and probably next year too
A sane and clear and much loved and articulate voice would help all of us in these times
Thanks! In progress.
Was waiting for this video for a while, you are good man for incredible information good man. Stay safe and look after your health.
I do love Stephen Fry,hes a global treasure
Fantastic Thank You 🙏
Thanks Fry.
Wow I can't believe I just heard Stephen Fry talk about two of my favourite youtube channels
Wishing all of you a long and healthy life .PLEASE , follow the guidelines and take all precautions , we're all in this together .
Second best voice of all time. All I can think of is hitchhiker guide to the galaxy
Amazing thank you 🙏
When this is all over I would like to see a report on which country did not flatten the curve and why. Something to think of for historians and inquiring journalists.
By definition when this is over all countries will have a flattened curve. Even if 100% of the population gets infected the curve will naturally flatten as more people get the virus.
Sth Korea has already flattened it, but they may have a second wave.
We could look at who took the longest to flatten curve from first case though, that'd be interesting.
@@musicwelikemang I meant which country had a spike that went over the capacity of their health system. A high curve instead of a long one.
I love Mr Bean and Friends at the end. Great job guys.
His voice is inspiring. I want Stephen to sooth me to sleep...
We really do love you, Steven!
So... my crippling social phobia is helping? Oh good.
Same here. for the first time in a long while i see the general public coming to understand what social isolation due to social phobia really means. now it is happening to everybody
Lol it's the first time , my Social phobia feels like a super power!
I have misophonia so I'm also realizing the advantage I have right now.
New Message we have similar tastes, I see you everywhere.
Same
what is the music starting at 4.50 please?
Stephen Fry I Love You
Stephen Fry's voice helps restore some sanity.
Italy made mistakes: Britain refused to listen. That's not a mistake, that's wilful.
Italy were caught completely off-guard.
And the US is willfully killing its own. That's criminal.
valerie the us is doing the right thing
No, the UK and Sweden took a different approach, in line with scientific advice. The problem with the UK I think meant the virus was already too widespread, thanks to our high density and mobile population, therefore adjusted course appropriately. This catastrophising is pathetic.
Very well done
All hotels should be forced to house NHS workers and those workers must be regularly tested. It's no good these hero NHS workers having to share public transport with strangers to get home and then spreading the virus to their own families. Hotels in major UK cities should be forced to house NHS workers.
Force seems excessive. I suspect that they would offer very competitive rates given how many cancellations they will have had recently.
Force. Wow. Tyranny is just as bad as a virus.
Josie Fox actually that would spread the virus amongst care workers quicker. I appreciate your intentions are good, but in practice that would be more dangerous
When you use the word “force”, you reduced yourself to an undemocratic regime.
useful and informative - perhaps some subtitles would make it accessible to those who rely on them.
Listen up people this is not a test! #stayhome #protectthenhs #staysafe....
Also I could listen to Stephen all day... on any subject, he is such a beautiful orator 😊
Great to see kurzgesagt mentioned!
I need to get on it on pay day. Cheers Fry 👍
Excellent video. Unfortunately the question in the title was never tackled or answered.
In this fully connected world it's so sad that so many people still feel lonely.
Love you Stephen ❤
I live in North Wales, UK, and I know a couple of people (who've never met each other, but live less than 5 miles apart) absolutely swear blind that they had this over the Christmas period. One of them had just returned from a holiday in Spain. Both families said they were really ill, with flu-like symptoms and had a dry cough that they couldn't get rid of. They had it for 4 or 5 days, started to feel better for a few days, and then it hit them again. They're both fully revovered now, but said it completely knocked them out for most of the Christmas period, and the symptoms were not "mild".
That wasn't Covid-19. Lot's of people, including me, had a bug with a persistent dry cough that was difficult to shake off, but it definitely wasn't Covid-19.
Kurzgesagt's videos are
amazing
Thank you for this informative video. It does put down certain myths. What I don't dare fathom though, is why Western govts that have had plenty of time to prepare, are barely bothering to impose an essential services only confinement? I appreciate the economic conundrum but their lack of clear decisive action not only not spread that curve but will only cost more in the mid term. Its bordering negligent. Despite the WHO and all of our states massive organisation it once again comes down to the individuals choice (and weather he can afford it by staying home) to survive this pandemic...
I thought i was suffering loneliness because i really missed going to my friends house most night during the week. However, one of my friends/dealer popped around with a gram last night and i now realise that i don't miss going to my friends house; it's just that i'm a coke addict and associate my friends house with being high. Phew!
😂😂😂 🤷🏻♂️ hahaha
Falco Sirrus . Whatever gets you thru the day falco.
Good man, Stephen.
I like your videos so much.. Because it's the truth... And I keep on fighting with brainwashed people.. And when I found you my hope in humanity increased.
Thanks and ditto to your last sentence.
what friend's episode is that? and which season; like i've seen all of them (mostly) but just don't remember episodes and seasons :(
Could someone please tell me the name of the song beginning at 4:52? Been trying to find out for ages.
Was looking forward to this thanks!
I love Steven ❤️❤️❤️
Positivity and laughter will get us through... Watching Peter Kay earlier, then Victoria wood.😷 😂
i love stephen fry
“Isolation is not good for me
Isolation I don’t want to sit on a lemon tree”
Gee thanks, now it's stuck in my head.
On the bright side, it's not the worst ear worm to have.
Better than a prickly pear
You wouldn't want to sit up there
Stephen Fry should consider narrating nature documentaries.
Stephen does Attenborough.
this video is like a youtube greatest hits
fun fact, someone did contract covid19 because she lived in an apartment some 10 floors below a patient who tested positive. It came from the drainage fumes since they use the same drainage line. The act of turning on the bathroom exhaust fan spewed micro particles up into the air.
72h ,24h and 4h at what temperature and humidity?
stress caused by lockdown and extreme economic hardship will lead to loss of immunity and other coronary/respiratory/mental diseases. I am afraid that death toll due to stress will be much higher than that due to the virus.
Smoke weed son
@MrKayaker69 I'm working so it's all good.
It is semi-airborne, meaning if coughed, sneezed hard enough it can stay in air and someone else can breathe that in.
aerosol transmition is BSL-3, so far people are treating it as BSL-2.
Love the 🇺🇸 and 🇬🇧 reaction as compared to the rest of the world.
Hehe....ending was too funny....
I was really worried about info being given then I see it's 7 months old
How much more we know now
I am overloaded with misc info on Virus. I click nothing!! Stephen Fry? Well I better check this out..
is this a deleted scene from the hitchhiker's guide? 👀
That 'Hosptial Capacity' line is a lot lower than the graph implies.
Wash my salad with soap and water?!? Sounds delightful
What is this "loneliness" you speak of? I can only tolerate about an hour of human contact per day. For me the only thing bad about this quarantine is the inability to go out for a nice meal...oh, and the whole dying thing.
Livid Imp -HA! Same. Basically nothing has changed in my life, shelter-in-place notwithstanding. I feel bad for some who need socializing to refuel. Time to work on yourselves instead of being in everyone else’s business! 😂
@@Spiral.Dynamics Yea, I'm sure extroverts are climbing the walls right now. Well, I guess they now know how we feel when we are forced into their social gatherings. What goes around comes around. XD
The important thing is that there has to be a choice. If it becomes a forced norm even the more introverted types will likely start feeling worse in the end. We're a social species.
Same here. If need be, I can tolerate about an hour or so of the company of others, any more than that leaves me feeling mentally exhausted. I would much rather be alone though.
Some of us were social distancing for years
Your the man
Rowan Atkinson at the end lol.
Why is Fry using David Attenborough's voice?
The world trusts you Stephen lad.
Sir please try to upload new science based videos..... your way of presentation and explanation is great!
Those who make us laugh are as worthy as any doctor.
Yeah, but also kinda no
;)
What the music used?
No panic here. I brought my towel.
Stephen Fry is turning into David Attenborough! (-or at least his voice is)
The trouble is it's too early to know and in a few weeks it will be oh it lives longer on cardboard than the one rushed study said and oh it can be an aerosol after all.
So watch this with a pinch of salt as information changes .Top academics in the UK are disagreeing with studies the other does.
I'm not sure why the distinction between "bacterial soap" is being made. The reason soap works is the outer membrane of the virus is encapsulated in a lipid layer (layer of fat) and soap breaks down fats.
It is so people don't think they have to specifically use the antibacterial, alcohol rich hand sanitizers that flew of the shelves in a herd panic an instead assure people that simply washing their hands with a bar of dove soap etc will do the job thus encouraging more people to bother washing there hands more often.
The "it's ok to be smart channel" recently uploaded a similar message.
So the kids that were told to avoid strangers are now lonely adults? Shocking
Can I suggest a less fear inducing clickbait title guys? Sending this to family, many refused to watch as they felt knowing how many will die is not what they wanna know now. Get your video message out with a positive title?
I agree. :)
Just what I was thinking.
