Little behind the scenes: when we reached the end point, Xander looked at me with the devil in his eyes and said "THEY DON'T NEED DEY LEGS" in a what I can only describe as an orc-like voice and he then ate my legs like chicken wings. We were within 90 minutes of an A&W. After filling his gut he came to his senses, he told me we were even for the food he gave me. But otherwise great trip man. And a fantastic series 💚

You said it. "What an amazing trip!" Loved all of the parts and the incredible videos of rapids, waterfalls, and vistas.
So glad you both gave Superior the respect she demands and got off the water when you did. I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and basically any of the Great Lakes will kill you if you don't respect their power. They "create" weather and it can change on you so very fast. Safe paddling Xander. :)

I have spent more than a year filming in the wilderness of the Himalayas and currently I really miss spending more time in nature. I have two kids now and many responsibilities, so the only way for me to get out of the hamster wheel right now are videos like yours. Every now and then you stumble upon real gems here on UA-cam. Xander, you are definitely on of those gems. Absolutely love your channel!

Wow, that was great. Thanks to my favorite film, Water-walker, by Bill Mason, I recognized some of the places you filmed on that section of Lake Superior. Cascade Falls was a place Bill camped and he did a painting of that falls in the evening colors. I am so glad there are people like you that keep that sense of adventure alive and have the skills to do it. Well done and thank you for not eating John. 😲

Trip is awesome. Pukaskwa park is a favourite of mine! You have got to hike the Coastal trail in the park starting at Willow River. Beaches, two suspension bridges ... one of them over the White River, strange boulder fields, rare alpine flowers, grottos and so much more. Me and my wife and two other groups huddled around a beach fire while a bear was stalking us. Good times!

When I take my 10yo niece backpacking, we always make it a point to walk a few hundred meters randomly off trail and touch a few trees, climb a rock, just because it’s possible we’re the only humans to have touched those trees, boulders, etc. just a goofy tradition we do.

Oh Pukasaw Pukasaw Pukaskwa. My heart's in the highlands wherever I roam. That's where I'll be when I get called home. No way to convey, in an accurate way, four decades of good fortune, from Floating Heart Bay or Heron Bay, I'll go there every day. Enough to carry us through to our last sunset. There, Kathryn, we were rich beyond our wildest dreams, the place that pierced our souls. Weep, bring back beauty, and let Pukaskwa sing from our very bones, where the lake played percussion on the wild shore of an inland sea. The cheap gaudy veneer of civilization fell away. The lie of modern reality I had been carefully trained to believe, was there uncovered. Like Ouspensky and Gurdjieff said, a life of sleep, or remain forever awake and unsatisfied because your culture chose separation from the wild.
