If you live through the trek, without debilitating injury or illness, you succeeded. I used to backpack with a guy that was ALWAYS borrowing. Anything from food to tweezers, to whatever. I stopped hiking with him. He wanted a light pack. He didn;t forget like John did. Makes for some awkward moments. Blessings all.
Hi Xander, hope you are well. I don't expect you to see this but I wanted to say thank you! I'm going through some mental health issues at the moment and watching your videos gives me so much joy in a time I didnt think it possible. I'm looking forward to winter as your cold weather episodes are my favourite. Take care, Liam xx
Loved it. Some funny AF moments forgotten food, couple scares anxieties, epic fishing and right into the groove...Makings of a true wilderness adventure.
This was an emotional roller coster! When Jon realised he forgot his food my heart sank. Then watching you guys get through it all was great. Keep it coming, great stuff!
Just wow, can’t wait to see the rest of this adventure. Xander you are a beautiful soul, positive and that killer smile. Man the challenges right off the hop, however, you kept it light and truly just made the best of it. I especially liked the clip about you eyeing Jon as food. I felt his pain when he realized he forgot his food.
Great vid mate. Really enjoyed it and can't wait to see the rest of the series. Some very funny moments. My jaw actually dropped when Jon said he forgot his food haha. Poor bloke.
You and John are a great match for this trip. I’m so glad you paired up to do this epic outing. Both of you are such an encouragement to each other. Can’t wait for the next one. Glad you are both safe.
I'm 5 minutes in and this is already one of my favorite videos. I love the Lost lakes channel as well and it's always fun when Jon is along for the ride with Xander
This duo makes for great content….and finds way’s to over come things , life throws you punches and no one is perfect……way to work as a team ! Can’t wait for more and Jon’ point of view!!
So excited for the rest of this trip, when he forgot his food I felt that. Such a great part seeing you both commit to the trip. These videos have helped me stay grounded
Was only going to watch the first 5 minutes and save the rest for tomorrow, but there wasn't a single moment to break away from that. I was either laughing, or speechless that entire video. Absolutely cannot wait for the next.
I can't wait for the rest of this trip. Seriously your channel is some of the most compelling and well produced adventure content anywhere, and your humor (and food choices) take it to the next level.
Love how this completely encapsulates all of the emotions involved with camping from the highest highs of eating Brook trout with steak seasoning, to the lowest lows realizing you don’t have a third of your food. These episodes take me right back to my camping send last summer and get me stoked for my future endeavors this summer! Thank you both for the great episode!!🫡
31:22 *decapitates fish* “ALRIGHT 😃” *proceeds to attempt to throw the head to his buddy ol pal Jon* I do love your videos Zander, the little moments that make us giggle and appreciate how genuine you are is what makes me constantly come back
25:25 Wish someone looked at me the way Xander looked at John. And I was really sad that John forgot his dehydrated food, you guys really had a good attitude afterwards as always humourous and fun to watch. You guys were definitely "In It".
Your current video got me pump to watch another and this is the one that came up. Really praying for jonathan that he's able to get up and out on the river soon. Let him know how much we care about his health and how he's doing. Take good care of yourself, Blessings❤
The chemistry is so elite with you two. Literally ying & yang. We are seeing the growth of a life long friendship with these crazy guys. cant wait for part 2 and 3.
Always luv Xander and Jon trips. You guys rock. The scenery and the video u take are breath taking. And I understand the moment when you really are into the trip. Fantastic keep this summer adventures going. 2022.
watching this epic adventure the interaction of the 2 of you every single second brings joy to my life it's as simple as that the very best to you both, always
Wow what a wonderful adventure and true friendship I can feel the love! Thank you for sharing your time in the wilderness I would have loved to be in on it in my younger days!
Seriously epic. Best part is the reality of the grind and watching you guys keep positive and appreciate the experience. Great example for others to follow. Keep up the amazing work man
Its cute how you and John have a couple of matching outfits. Looking forward to the BFF bracelets. Also must be nice to catch a brook trout and get to eat it...
Wow. Looks like a fun trip! Great to see you bonk your first Brookie! Jon told me once that he plans everything maticulously... Always good to have a written last minute checklist.... "take food out of chest freezer... CHECK"
Lol 😂 Jon is super maticulous. It was surprising that he forgot that stuff but he's a good sport and got over it quickly. I might have dwelt on it longer :p
You 2 crack me up and I learn along the way lol at your expense. Keep doing what you’re doing and remember it’s not the mistakes you make along the way it what you do with them. Can’t wait to see more
I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but every time I see one of your videos it revitalizes my desire to go outside. You are a great advocate for the beauty of Canada. I am both envious and appreciative of your adventures. Thank you for sharing them with us.
By far my favorite videos are when you're with Lost Lakes. You two have such an amazing friendship and make me cackle. Yes, cackle. You two should consider a joint channel! Or at least a playlist on each others' channel.
First video I've seen of yours (came from lost lakes), not even 5 minutes in and I'm absolutely hooked! Your smile and laugh are infectious and you have such a light hearted and cheery disposition - I love it! New subscriber for sure
I have an old friend that I have fished with all my life. We are just on the same frequency. Our friends say we could have an adventure in a parking lot. My wife says you two remind her of my friend and I. It is rare to be able to capture that. It must be satisfying to see it come to life. As a member of the viewing family, I look forward to each new trip. Jon is such a perfectionist and you are the butterfly. That usually doesn't work. When it does, it is magic and comical. I'm glad he taught you to fish. As for paddling, it appears he is a bit of a slow, and forgetful student. Too bad you didn't win the hammock. I didn't either. lol
Amazing first few days! Sucks about the forgotten food, but you two are rockin' it! I half expected you to be wearing a tux when you were previewing the dry suit 🤣 Can't wait for the next part and Jon's take when he uploads it.. good times! 🍻
I can well imagine that both you and Jon hear all the time how GREAT your videos are. You guys work so well together as well as by yourselves also, and go to some decent locations. I think I could well identify with Jon realizing what he mistakenly left behind. I'll always remember the helpless feeling of being in basic training in the Army and being informed that we were going to get a "pleasant" and unannounced SURPRISE of tear gas upon us while on Bivouac. I reached for my gas mask which somehow was NOT at my side. In one of those "typical" Army moments where they YELL at everyone to "GET OFF MY TRUCK"...I realized it must somehow be still on that truck. Fortunately, after all my worry...I did survive the ordeal as the wind that day was blowing away from me. I think Jon will do fine with his experience on this trip. Both of you could easily handle being on the "ALONE" show. For an old goat like myself, I get to live these trips now from my "easy chair". Thanks, guys!
Dude I love your videos! You are so good in capturing that sense of adventure and us humans being a small part of the ecosystem we’re surrounded by. Keep it up and I wish you all the best!
What an epic adventure! You guys have such a dynamic chemistry. It's fun to watch you guys adventure together. Bravo on pushing forward! Cheers to the both you!
Love to see the more serious sides of things, this is the difference between some casual adventuring and proper backcountry trekking. Both are loads of fun, but appreciate the amount of respect you give to the situations you guys found yourselves in. This is the type of trip that pushes your comfort boundary a lot, and it's great to see that y'all kept your wits about you and your spirits up!
G’day Xander, what a trip! Fantastic video again mate keep them coming. Sorry to see your friend forgetting his tucker, bummer! Can’t wait to see the next instalment.
Wow. What a rough start. At the same time you guys Deffinetly make one hell of a team keeping it together and staying positive. Biggest key to staying safe out there. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the adventure.
Found your channel via Jon’s channel- this is so interesting to watch so very real, it’s great to see Jon really gaining confidence on the river rapids and so informative as to how actually dangerous and how skilled you need to be. Great watch guys
Man, you guys make it seem so easy (but as you said it is totally different when you are in it)! Keep it coming! Can't believe this trip is your first for Brook Trout! The caviar of fish!!
Great video man. And your partner was handling scary sicuations well. I was reminded today about the power of water, when i lost my breath during a dive. I thought that was it, but thankfully i had my partner to help. He saved my life, no doubt about that. Do yeah, mistakes happen for a reason. You learn humility from them and you do it again. There is no safeword for the elements. Big contrats to both of you.
As a guy from Romania who is new to this kind of adventure, you sir have my subscription. I d rather stay on the beach and relax after a tough day at work, but watching these videos while drinking hot cocoa does the job. Glad I found this account.
I don't think I have ever written a comment on UA-cam. But this is just.. amazing! Thanks so, so, so much for bringing us along. Wish you all the best!
Insane trip Xander 😍 Looks like you have some beautiful scenery to paddle through wish we had more of that in UK! Look forwards to the rest of the series! 🛶🏕
Will Xander be able to completely carry us both to the finish line? Tune in next time to find out. Saved my butt in this episode 💚
Leaving the food must have been a total gut punch. You're always so well prepared.
Man you had such a great attitude and we had such a blast. We were literally laughing up to the point you dropped me off at my car.
Jon, you’re such a good sport. You make an awesome duo!
Jesus you just DO NOT FORGET FOOD!! That’s not even a rookie move that’s just being Lazy….
That moment Jon realized he forgot his food and this turned into a real Survival Trip 🤯
Very excited for Part 2
Greetings from Germany 😊
I have never been so jealous about missing a trip. Amazing stuff! I have wanted to do this route for a very long time!
The legend himself 🙌
Ha you could have added some food. Lol
@@ryanduhaime9086 or become a food. You know Xander, "he doesn't need all these limbs, does he?" :)
Sequel foreshadowing? 👀

Loved it. Some funny AF moments forgotten food, couple scares anxieties, epic fishing and right into the groove...Makings of a true wilderness adventure.
Glad you enjoyed my man :)
This was an emotional roller coster! When Jon realised he forgot his food my heart sank. Then watching you guys get through it all was great. Keep it coming, great stuff!
I just adore you boys.... so grateful that you're sharing your journey (and sometimes, madness) with all your followers. ;);)
Just wow, can’t wait to see the rest of this adventure. Xander you are a beautiful soul, positive and that killer smile. Glad you enjoyed it my man :) it was a real oh crap moment for sure :p
Thanks for coming out with these series of videos! So excited to watch them. One of the best channels out forsure !
Having to switch from recreational fishing to fishing for need made this episode one of the better experiences I've watched on the Tube.
I love the way you show wood cutting. Too many channels think we're interested in watching them flogging away on a limb for 15-20 minutes. Good job.
Xander, the type of friend everyone wants and needs. Jon's a lucky dude 😊
Nice guys, I loved this river and we paddled the same way on the coast, to Hattie Cove when we did it too. Looks like this will be an awesome series.
Thanks Jim, I saw that you guys had done it 10 or so years ago but I'm sure you guys ran a lot more than we did!
You guys are more and more awesome with each trip. Seeing the mistakes and real emotional struggle mixed with humor makes for awesome adventures!
The comraderie between you guys is awesome….positive attitudes and true friendship always
wins!!
You and John are a great match for this trip.
I’m so glad you paired up to do this epic outing.

I started watching Lost Lakes first...and now I watch both. You guys make a great team.
